About this listing
Cozy 350sf room in a safe, quiet neighborhood in the northern California foothill community of Fiddletown in the heart of the Shenandoah Valley wine country. Contact us for Last Minute Bookings, if the room is available, we'll make it happen!
The room offers a microwave, hot plate, toaster, coffee pot and a small refrigerator with freezer, a claw-foot bathtub and heated towel rack, and a table just for two. It includes a Queen sized bed. Also available for your pleasure is a fully fenced yard for enjoying the outdoors with outdoor seating as well as a place for your pets to safely run and play.
The room is in a separate, single-story out-building with a private keyed entrance and no stairs to climb. The room will be open when you arrive, but a key is provided for your security and privacy during your stay. The driveway is shared with the owner. There is an 8' Jacuzzi available for your private use, but is accessible from both residences.
Interaction with guests
We live on the property. I work full-time away from home, but my husband works out of the home, so he's in and out throughout the day. We are happy to help our guests with their requests as we are available. We have two dogs, Augie and Angie. They sound ferocious, but are actually very friendly. They are ALWAYS in the house when we are not home and most of the time even when we are. If you are uncomfortable in any way about the dogs, please let us know.
Our neighborhood is quiet and peaceful. There is a vineyard that backs up to our backyard. All of the Amador County wineries are no more than 10-15 minutes and an easy drive away. El Dorado County wineries are 20-30 minutes, but also an easy drive. There are several antique stores in the close-by hamlets of Sutter Creek and Jackson. There are some excellent restaurants for your dining pleasure as well as some that will prepare a take-out lunch for your day trip. Water recreation is available at many nearby lakes. Hiking and beautiful walks are easily accessible as well. We're about 45-60 minutes from Kirkwood, 30-40 minutes from Placerville, 45-60 minutes from Hope Valley.
Public transportation isn't really an option in this area, but there are limousine services available for hire. Please be aware that cell phone coverage is spotty at best. AT&T doesn't work at the house at all, but I've seen those with Verizon and Sprint get coverage, but again, it's spotty. We have a land line, but don't want to disturb our guests with our phone ringing so we do not have one in the room. We will gladly allow you to use ours should you need to.
Other things to note
We are a "Bed and Bottle" so breakfasts are not served. A bottle of local wine is our gift to you. Please specify your preference for either red or white wine. Also, let us know the other guests name that will be staying and if you're bringing your pet.
Absolutely no drugs or smoking of any kind are allowed on the premises.
No raucous partying past 10:00 p.m. or before 8:00 a.m.
Well behaved pets are welcome, but not on the furniture or the bed please.
We are a couple in our mid-50's. I am a project manager and my husband, Joe is self-employed working at the wineries nearby. We enjoy wine tasting, dining out, cooking, travel, and spending time with our pets. We love to meet new people and to make new friends. We can't wait to meet you. Won't you join us soon?
