My group and I were in New Orleans for the Essence Festival and a wedding; therefore my experience is limited to simply needing a place to put our things down and sleep at night as we were out and about all day. Booking this place provided exactly that and couldn't have asked for a nicer host. The host (Morgan) was knowledgeable and helpful, I called the host a few days before my arrival and we ironed out details. The host also made suggestions on the optimal time to arrive for the property to be ready and things to do while in town. Lastly a tour of the property was give by the host after arrival and everything was explained thoroughly (some parts a bit crassly). Location - The rental is located on a main road and within walking distance were authentic (non-touristy) New Orleans restaurants. There's a Walgreens and corner store with liquor both within walking distance, perfect place to get drinks and other necessities. Wouldn't recommend walking to Frenchman or Bourbon St. but both are a short uber ride away. If you're looking to stay outside of the french quarter but not too far from everything, then this location would best suit your needs. Check-in - The property is in a nice quiet neighborhood which was perfect since my group wasn't home often and just needed sleep when we were. Even through status updates were provided to the host, my group still had to wait on the street to be let in for quite some time after arrival (45+ mins), however the host explained this was due to several groups for other residences the host rents out arriving at once. There's no off-street parking, however there was plenty of parking available in front of the house and around adjacent corners. Despite the wait, the place wasn't ready when we arrived. The host apologized and scheduled a time to come over and finish preparing the property. The Property - This rental was a nicely remodeled basement where the upstairs part of the house is rented to another group. Save for cigarette buds laying around the front door, the place was impressively clean. Clean linens and towels, nice open area, etc. The only major downsides were (1) Apparently a storm hit before our arrival which caused the microwave to not work and beep loudly 24/7 which kept us up at night throughout our stay. A replacement microwave was provided on the last day of our rental, however the beeping microwave was never removed. (2) The ceilings are really low. All the guys (5'10+) had to duck our heads as we walked from room to room and the taller ones of us (6'2+) had to watch our heads almost all the time. None of the below materially affected my group however Things To Note - The rental can fit up to 8 people without feeling too tight of a squeeze. The room closest to the door doesn't have A/C and one of...

This was honestly the best experience I have ever had while traveling. The host was extremely friendly, helpful, and open. The space was more than enough space for us. We traveled with a group of 6 guys and the space was exactly what we needed and we were more than comfortable. Everything in the city was a short Uber ride away, we were able to park our rental vehicle and not use it for the entire weekend. This is a great place to use if you have a trip to Nola. Whenever I visit again I will for sure to use this area again. The host really took pride in the space and went to great lengths to make sure we had a great experience.

The house was beautiful and huge. The area is on the Main Street and not to far from the city. Easy rides using uber or other means of transportation services. Very convenient comfortable household.

GREAT RENTAL! We had a party of 6 for a bachelor/birthday party for Jazz Fest weekend. If you are looking for prime location close to the festival or FQ, this is your place. It is quite literally 3 blocks from the festival location, and Uber/Lyft to Bourbon or Frenchmen were $10-15 each trip (base fares, beware of surges!). The rental is a bottom floor space of a 2-story house (separated). Plenty of privacy. NOLA was so sweet and helpful for a group of guys new to the city. She was very accommodating to those of us who had flown in before check in, and allowed us to drop our luggage and go explore the city while she was still prepping our rental. The sleeping spaces were 2 bedrooms with single (queen?) beds, another bedroom with 3 smaller beds, and a makeshift room with a single bed (again, maybe queen?). Beds were comfortable and more than enough for a group of guys constantly in and out of the house. There is a futon in the living room, so you can squeeze 7 people, but I wouldn't do more than that. Kitchen space and living room were very comfortable to hang out during meals or relaxing. The 2 bathrooms had a lot of space and were spotless. Not negatives for us, but keep these in mind before you book this unit... *Ceilings are low, but not crammed. We had some taller guys with us and they were perfectly fine. *The one bedroom with the 3 beds in it is not exactly built for privacy. We only needed places to sleep, so we were all good. *Cell phone reception in the house is bad, there are no TVs, and no WiFi. But, you're in New Orleans, and should be out enjoying the city anyways! If you plan on spending a lot of time indoors and need your technology, try a Marriott. *There is no front or back patio/outdoors hangout space for this unit. *If bringing a vehicle, and it is festival season, parking may be challenging. Otherwise, there should be spaces along the street available for you. If any of the above doesn't fit your criteria, I would suggest you reach out to NOLA and ask about her other available spaces. She has some other great places I considered, and most importantly she is an amazing host. Hope this helps you decide, and have a great trip to New Orleans!
