The Space

Hi everybody!
We are a young couple that wants to invite you to enjoy a comfortable, nice and peaceful stay in our house, where you will find yourself immediately immersed in the nazari world.
Our flat is located in the well-known and traditional Albaycin neighbourhood (declared World Heritage Site by UNESCO) just at the foot of The Alhambra, where you will enjoy the typical bars and Granada’s tapas just at your door and with the breathtaking and wonderful views of the Alhambra.
We are in a magic/enchanted place where you can go everywhere on foot and enjoy visiting the most popular and beautiful local highlights. After a relaxing and pleasant fifteen-minute walk you will find yourself at the Alhambra; and in only five minutes you will be at Sacromonte neighbourhood, where you will have the chance to discover the “flamenco world “in the famous caves (an experience you can’t miss). And if you still feel like walking, another five minutes will take you to the cathedral and the city centre. There you will find all kinds of shops, bars and Spanish Language schools, apart from different types of services and facilities. The nearest Tourist information point is nearby as well as the well-known Arabian baths.
Our area is very well-communicated; the airport bus leaves you very close to our house and you can take all the bus lines nearby.
Our house has got two double bedrooms and one single room (three in total), all of them with natural light, and of course, bed linen and towels are included. There are also wardrobes and desks you can make use of. There is a big and nice living room with spectacular views of the Alhambra, a totally equipped kitchen (ceramic cook top, oven, microwave, fridge, washing machine, coffee machine, blender, iron and all the kitchenware you will need to feel really at home). You will also have plenty of room where to keep your stuff.
There is also a large bathroom and a cozy room where we can share a tea and a “cachimba” (the traditional Arabian pipe) after a delightful but also tiring day in an amazing city.
We also offer free WI-FI, so you can keep in touch with your friends and family and share with them your incredible experiences in this city!
We speak English very, very well and we will be glad to help you whenever or with whatever you need as we are natives of Andalusia! We are young and easy going so don´t have second thoughts about visiting us!! We are waiting for you!
Love and Respect is our motto! See you!

  • Aurora was very helpful with places to visit and eat out. The room was very reasonably priced, clean. Although single room compacted it had everything you needed for a short stay. The hosts had listened to the reviews and there is now an oil radiator in the room if required. Fabulous situation for visiting the sights or drinking coffee.

  • This is actually an Hostel. Aurora & Manuel do not live here. The room is small (4 m2), can not be locked (there a more guests in other rooms). The apartment is dark as there is no sunlight. So in wintertime it is also cold. There are heaters in the rooms. The interior is dated. The washing machine is broken (you need to open with a spoon) and makes your clothes wet, but not clean. The location is in the old city and opposite Alhambra. In the weekend it was very noisy in the building untill very late. Manuel does give you a map and explains what and where you can visit or see things. The WiFi is good and fast.

  • It's a film by Luis Bunuel, a song by the Pixies and a great little cellar bar where Manuel recommended I go for some flamenco: Un Chien Andalou (Andalucian Dog). The music and dance was fantastic, I was transfixed. And it's only five minutes walk from this apartment which is in a superb location right below the Alhambra and beside the beautiful Albaicin, the wonderful old part of the city. There are restaurants close by and Manuel was excellent with his recommendations for places to visit and routes to the Alhambra. Highly recommended.

  • My only complains are that it is freezing cold in mid winter (although they provide small heater and extra blanket, and that there is no lock inside the room. Otherwise, very good stay with all facility a traveler need. Manuel also explain you where to go and where to eat, really nice!

  • The apartment is okay but it is dark and without view. On the photos you just replace the white parts by something dark and you will have a corresponding idea of the place. In winter, it is cold because it is not heated, only the rooms are but with difficult. You can listen everything that is happening in the building. If you stay two or three nights and if you spend your days and evenings out, it's okey, more time I disadvise to you. Edouardo and Aurora does'nt live in the appartment and there are not friendly as they want to show. They make business trying to atract a kind of "lonely planet style", that's all. I had paid for a week and I left after three days. The room I occupied, the smallest one, is so tiny that you can't do anything other than to be on or in the bed. The problem with that kind of persons is they think there are professional, but there are not at all.

    Response from Aurora & Manuel:

I`m so dissapointed with this review Thomas. I am not sure but i guess that you expected a five stars hotel paying 17 euros per night. You were one of the worst guest that we ever had (Almost 200). The days that you were at home it was rainy and cloudy so that`s why it was dark, i guess that is normal. We don`t have views from the house, you are right, but what can you see from the door?, oh yes, THE ALHAMBRA.
We are so friendly with everyone, but if you were a disgusting guest from the beggining don`t expect the best. We were angry with you because you send me an email saying that it was a problem in the house, i left my job coming straight to the house and you weren`t there. And when i saw you the problem was that it was cold. Come on man, is winter and you had a heater in the room and extra blenkets. You saw the room in the ad before bokking it, what else can i say?
I am not professional, this is not a hotel. I just love to share my space with another people and meet interesting people from all around the world.
    Cheers

  • The location of this apartment is fantastic - under the Alhambra, in the historic district - with so many sights and activities nearby or readily accessible. There are local buses at the door - the #35 goes up to Sacromonte and the Abadia, then comes back via Mirador S Cristobal, Peurto de Elvira and many other sights. All worth a stop. I met Miguel only briefly on arrival, and he provided me with a local transit map and many good suggestions for my stay - all of which I enjoyed! Don't miss Le Chien Andalus!
My single room had plenty of storage space, small table and chair and a heater. The apartment also has a comfortably furnished lounge/dining room, a well equipped kitchen, good bathroom with great hot water supply. Very comfortable and easy to be in. Great value for price.
My only problem was that because Manuel and Aurora do not live here and I did not know who else was staying in the apartment (there are three rooms for rent - two of which were occupied), I had some concerns about security. There was no way to secure my room or my valuables, so I had to carry several items with me when out and about.
I appreciate that airbnb places function on a level of trust - and I love that about airbnb - however it's also good to be able to secure important items, travel documents and so on, whilst enjoying a shared household, particularly if the owners are not in residence and it is more hostel-type stay. That's important to me anyway.
That aside, it's a great place to stay.

  • Well first of all about the room; you cannot ask for a better location. You are literally at the base of the Alhambra form the door you have a view of the Alhambra all lit up and beautiful. You are in the Abaicin district which if you just walked that district alone you will have had a wonderful time. You are a few minutes walking distance to the Plaza Nueva and the cathedral, where you can catch the tourist buses if that is what you like to do. Now about your hosts; Manuel was just wonderful. Because you are in an historic district there is no parking for a vehicle as is the case in any historic district; but you are so centrally located and you do not need a car the whole time you are there. But I came in a car; I could have parked very close to the house for a fee but Manuel told me about some free parking that was a little bit farther from the house. He told me to call him when I arrived and he came in his car to pick me up and take me to the house. He had tourist maps and flyers at the entrance of the house to let me know everything that I needed to know about Granada, and also took time to point things out on the map for me and tell me about options for walking and buses. I feel that Manuel went out of his way to make sure that I was situated and to make sure that I had an enjoyable time in Granada. I would recommend Aurora and Manuel if you are going to Granada
