About this listing
Set within the attractive old neighborhood of Geitawi in Achrafieh Beirut, this newly built building has 5 floors with lift and a full city view from the roof. ideally located just 5 minutes walk from the lively Mar Mikhael and Gemmayzeh districts known for their shops, cafes, pubs and restaurants.
The apartment itself is on the third floor with 3 bedrooms, a lovely large spacious living room, very generously sized kitchen and a good sized 2 bathrooms complete with bath and shower and a third separate toilet (only shower to be shared by 2 rooms). The kitchen is fully stocked, dishwasher, washing machine, gas oven, fridge, freezer, microwave, toaster, etc. Pretty much everything you could want from a kitchen including lots of cupboards for storage. it has a visitors parkings.
communal areas well kept with weekly cleaning and fully furnished, a terrace with few mountain and sea views is always sunny in the morning with clear views (no neighbors in front).
All of Beirut suffers from daily power outages daily for three hours during the day only. This place is no exception and no private generator is available.
If this sounds like the place for you then drop me a line.
The perfect place to stay in Beirut; Geitawi is a quiet and calm neighbourhood (very rare in the city) and within walking distance to all the best places to go out, with easy access to Hamra/elsewhere via taxi/service. The apartment has everything you need, including a lovely balcony, living room, and fully equipped kitchen. Nagi is an excellent host and a very nice guy who will make you feel right at home, gives great advice about things to do and places to go in Lebanon/Beirut, and you'll learn a lot from his knowledge of the history/politics/society of Lebanon.
This is a nice place overall. If you don't need to get to Hamra (AUB) often, don't plan to work from the apartment, or will stay for a short period, this is a fantastic option. It's in a quiet, safe area, but close to fun spots and a major street. The building is nice and new and the unit is well-designed. The apartment is also very spacious.
There are some people for whom this apartment may not be a good option. Data usage limits on the Internet make it a bad choice for anyone who will need to use the Internet a lot. Anyone who needs to get to Hamra would also find the apartment frustrating because it is far and, contrary to what some would have you believe, catching a service taxi to the other side of Beirut is not easy. Anyone who is sensitive to heat should be careful about this place, as there is no A/C in the bedrooms and the unit in the living room does not cool them very well. (But I think a fan is adequate for most people.) Lastly, one of the bedrooms opens onto the shared balcony. As a result, your sleep schedule is at the mercy of whomever uses the balcony. I never had an issue with this, but I can see it becoming a problem for anyone who is a light sleeper.
If none of the conditions in that second paragraph applies to you and you don't mind not having a generator, this is a good place for you.
It was great to meet Nagi and Pierre (his roommate)! We really had a great time in Beirut with them; we directly felt like home!
See you soon guys!
