Originally a Dairy Farm, ours was the first home built in the area in 1966. It was later subdivided for the children of the builder, creating Walnut Place.
We live in a quiet, mixed population (ethnicity, age, political, etc.) development on a greenbelt with pecan, cherry, peach, and fig trees.

Just awesome! Jake and Kelly were great hosts, the mod pad was very retro-fabulous, down to the last detail. Great coffee, all amenities, there was even a cake waiting for us. While there, we listened to 60s and 70s music to really set the mood. Thanks guys for making it a memorable experience!
This was a repeat visit for me to these groovy dogs. Felt like home this time! Unseasonably cold weather made the pool look that more tempting. (I understand Jake can heat it for guests.) I did a bit of telecommuting this trip as was amply served by the wifi connection. And I got to sample some home-grown (grown?) honey! Thanks again, Jake!
Jake's place was as great as promised ...and more. Though a fifteen -minute drive from the center of Austin, it was easy to reach this annex apartment to Jake's house. It was filled with fabulous modernist furniture and Jake stocked the frig with Italian sodas, milk, juice , eggs and seemingly endless offerings of Keurig coffees. He also welcomed us with a delicious homemade fruit bread and a bottle of wine on the kitchen counter. From the Meyer's products to the notebook with restaurant recommendations/maps/guides, Jake thought of every detail. I'm a long-time, experienced Airbnb user and Jake's hospitality and thoughtfulness were extraordinary. You can tell he takes pride in his place and takes his Airbnb hosting duties seriously. Though the apartment is an annex to his house and he has a couple of dogs, the place was quiet and Jake was very unobtrusive and respectful of our privacy. For those who would sacrifice in-town convenience for unique accommodations and spaciousness, then I highly recommend Jake's lovely place.
We really enjoyed our stay at Jake's place. Right from the start, he was helpful and welcoming. The pad was furnished in cool mid-century modern style and stocked with more than what you'd expect or need - coffee, hot chocolate, fruit, milk, juice and a bottle of wine. The grounds are lovely and relaxing with plenty of privacy. We needed to go into downtown for an event and dinner and this was an easy, short drive. I would absolutely return.
This was one of my best airbnb experiences ever. From Jake's first message I knew we were going to be treated like welcome personal guests. This place was super easy to find and never took me more than 10 minutes to get to. The house was stocked with everything one might need. There was a big bowl of fresh fruit, fridge full of water, some local beer, and Italian soda. Although we chose to eat out we would have been able to cook anything in the well stocked kitchen. We really like how the place was decorated - there were some cool chairs and lamps that made this place feel more unique. The bed was amazing - very comfortable and everything in the house was extremely clean. It was starting to cool down some in Austin but the pool was heated and had a unique collection of plants surrounding it. I could go on and on. I just really liked this place and felt at home. I would definitely want to come back again. Thank you Jake for your hospitality - we had a wonderful weekend in Austin thanks to you.
Great place, great vibe, great host. All the amazing furniture pieces were our favorite part. The pool area and outdoor living spaces helped make the weekend a very relaxing one. Jake was an incredibly thoughtful host even providing us with refreshments for us upon arrival.
I was brought up on "The Golden Rule", so, I am providing the level of authenticity and "extras" that I would expect in Lifestyle Travel. There IS a difference.
