The dogs and I walk the property perimeter twice per day, otherwise you will probably not have to see us.
Originally a Dairy Farm, ours was the first home built in the area in 1966. It was later subdivided for the children of the builder, creating Walnut Place.
We live in a quiet, mixed population (ethnicity, age, political, etc.) development on a greenbelt with pecan, cherry, peach, and fig trees.
Only four miles from Mueller District with everything from HEB grocery, Twin Liquors, Starbucks, Verts, Emergency Medicine, and and the cheapest gas in town at HEB!

If it’s happening in Austin, you can get to it easily from our location.
The "back way" to Downtown Austin from the Apartment is directly south on Springdale Road to Martin Luther King Blvd., which travels right into downtown. Eight minutes.
New Bus stops are being added along Highway 290E. This can connect to the light rail at Highland Mall Transportation Station and terminates at 4th Street downtown for festivals.
The Bus stops at Springdale on HWY290E, but then one half mile walk to the apartment.

* US Highway 183, 290 (East), and I-35 within 4 miles

* Travis County Exposition Center, Walter Long Lake.
Being so close to highways leaves us with chain restaurants within 1 mile, with an amazing array of local and regional restaurants within 5 miles (please see our guidebook, and let us know if you discover a new local gem to pass on to other guests!).

We operate an active Apiary on the property (Bee Hive). They are not in the Guest Area, and produce exquisite honey.
Seasonally available fruits, vegetables and herbs, tended by our bees, are available for your culinary exploration. Italian & Greek oregano, garlic chives, lemon thyme, rosemary, Italian parsley, sage always available.
We are a tobacco free household. Smoking in the apartment is NOT permitted, but smoking outside is definitely okay.
We strive to maintain an allergen-free environment for our guests. We ask you to help us maintain a desirable environment for all!
We are here to help. Let us know if you need something, we will provide it if we can. We want your visit to be a memorable one.
Since you will have your own private keyed entrance, you should feel free to come and go as you please. You won’t disturb us. As a courtesy to our neighborhood, we ask that noise be kept to a minimum after midnight (weekends) or 10 pm on weeknights. Moderate group gatherings ok.

NOTE 2: We have two dogs (13 and 8 year olds) that protect the property. They do not have access to the apartment, so as to minimize allergens. They are friendly, and you will not have to come into contact with them unless you choose to. They like to play.

Jake met us on arrival and took our breath away with the hospitality arrangements he made for us, perfectly detailed on the basis of just a few email exchanges.
Jake was incredibly flexible and hospitable. I've never had a better renting experience. The place was beautiful and I would stay again in a heartbeat.
I booked Jake's rental space same-day, and he was very nice and responded immediately. His home was spotless, and I would love to stay here again for a longer trip. I highly recommend this spot!
Jake made us feel right at home...right from the very start! Delicious breakfast bread and a bottle of (one of our favorites) wine was awaiting us upon arrival. The mod decor and "funky-cool" pool area was as promised...really cool! Jake provided us with everything we could have needed...from cooking spray to dental floss. Thanks Jake for the fabulous accommodations!
Our host, Jake, made us feel welcome before we even arrived. He emailed us to ask for our beverage preferences so he could properly stock the fridge. Upon arrival, there was a freshly baked loaf of cranberry orange bread waiting for us. The Mod Pad is fun and funky, decorated with original furniture and art from the 60's. The property is well kept and we enjoyed playing in the pool. Jake's two dogs, Rusty and Boy, were very friendly. Jake is a beekeeper and allowed us to sample some of the fantastic honey. Highly recommend.
Jake is awesome! The place is beautiful and he was so kind. He went out of his way to help us and make sure we had a good stay. If I ever come back to Austin I will definitely be coming here again!
Just awesome! Jake and Kelly were great hosts, the mod pad was very retro-fabulous, down to the last detail. Great coffee, all amenities, there was even a cake waiting for us. While there, we listened to 60s and 70s music to really set the mood. Thanks guys for making it a memorable experience!
