Request all interested guests to please write a bit about yourself and your group and why you are visiting Mumbai.
Important Note :
One thing i would like to mention is that as per recent Mumbai Police rules, we have to register the details of all guests with our building secretary and the local police station, as a matter of precaution.
I understand that many hosts may not require this from their guests, but our society is insisting on this documentation, so if you do choose to book with us (and we sincerely hope you do:), I will need you to fill in a form, which will contain your details as well as ours, a copy of which will be handed over to the local police station and to our Society Chairman. For NRI or foreign guests, we will require a copy of your Passport and Visa as well.
Now, more about the apartment...
About the property
This is a furnished Apartment, with 2 bedrooms (1 Airconditioned; 1 Non-Airconditioned); 1 Bathroom with toilet, plus 1 seperate toilet; 1 Living Room (Air conditioned) and a kitchen. The Air-conditioned Bedroom has a double bed, the other has 2 seperate thick mattresses which can be comfortably used for sleeping. Clean towels and bed linen are provided.
The apartment is quite comfortable and located on the ground floor. It is our old home and is located in a fairly quiet locality, hidden inside one of the lanes of Bandra.
The apartment comfortably houses 4 people. However, it can accommodate up to 8 guests, in a crunch. In case of more than 4 people, there will be an additional charge of USD 15 / person / night.
Top Tip 1
100 USD / night for a full apartment that comfortably houses 4 in Bandra is a bargain compared to the minimum rate of 120 USD / night / double occupancy for a decent hotel in Bandra West!
Location – neighborhood descriptionThe International airport is approx 10 kms from the place. It is easily accessible by cabs / rickshaws (tuk-tuks) and you can travel to all parts of Mumbai from this place.
It is a quick walk away from popular hotspots, pubs, bars, supermarkets, small grocery stores, Cinema theatres, Bandra Railway station. Scores of Restaurants with different cusines and price bands are close by, that do home delivery as well.
Attractions and distance
The best part of the apartment is that despite being away from the main road, you are in very close proximity to all the main hotspots around Bandra. Best of all, you can reach 3 sea-front promenades in Bandra - BandStand, Reclamation Promenade and Carter Road - within 5-10 minutes by rickshaws (tuk-tuks) or a 20 minute walk.
Take a look at the Guidebook, for some cool places nearby.

Top Tip 2
We generally provide a complimentary basket of assorted goodies for guests, to welcome them to our apartment. This generally includes some basics like bread, butter, eggs, cereal, milk, fruits, oats, juices, dry snacks like chips, etc.
If you tell me whether you want or don't want something specific at least a week in advance, i may be able to stock up the kitchen accordingly. No promises, though ;)
We can arrange for a trusted cab driver to take you around Mumbai tourist spots and markets, at a competitive rate. An AC cab can be at your service full day, or as many hours as you like. If you would like to book a cab through us, please let us know your requirements at least 3 days in advance, so that we can give you an estimate for the same.

Top Tip 3
Chances of us accepting your booking request will go up a lot higher if you let us know more about yourself : Who you are, Where you are from, What you do, and what you are in Mumbai for! Ask us questions too, if you like;)
Disclaimer The apartment is right beside a railway line, so there is a regular sound of trains passing by during the day. However, the trains are not operational at night, so your beauty sleep is not disturbed;) Also, due to certain constraints, there is no car parking in the building. If you do have a car, you can park it in the lane outside the building:)
- Free Wifi
- Free Cable Television
- A basic kitchen with basic cooking and eating utensils
- My services as a guide around Bandra, if required. Completely complementary, off course :)
Interaction with Guests
I would like to interact with the guests over mail / (website hidden), to get to know them better before accepting their booking. Also, it would be great to meet up with them for drink / meal, during their visit to get to know them better :)
1) This apartment is our former home. Some of the neighbours are elderly and request their peace, and hence, we request guests to ensure that there is no loud music, partying or shouting in the house or common areas of the building. Please be respectful of the neighbours.
2) Please turn off all electrical appliances, including the water heater and the air conditioning when you are not in the room or in the house. Lock all doors when you leave the house.
3) Keep the keys carefully and return upon checkout. In case you lose the keys, you will need to pay 50$ for the set of keys and change of locks.
4) Visitors and friends are not allowed in the apartment between 22:30 pm to 08:00 am. Please ensure that there are no guests staying overnight other than the one who have hired the apartment. We have had some issues with guests bringing their friends in the past without informing us, and we would like to avoid any hassles later on. If you are likely to have some guests over, please do let us know in advance.
5) Please inform us your scheduled departure time from the apartment, at least 24 hours in advance, so we can arrange to have the keys picked up accordingly.
6) We request you to clean up the house before you leave; just make sure all your garbage is packed in garbage bags, and placed in the bin, ensure all used and open perishable food are removed from the fridge and bagged. You can throw any garbage bags in the big green common waste bin in the building compound.
7) Please DO NOT get locked out of the building late at night. Always make sure that you have the key that opens the building gate, as well as the key to the apartment door, with you when you step out. If you do get locked out, please contact the hosts first. Please don't wake up the neighbours at night to let you in.
Amit is an excellent host, going far above and beyond his responsibilities to make our stay as pleasant, and comfortable as possible. The apartment is located in a very fun neighborhood, with excellent access to public transit, as well as lots to eat and see within a five minute walk. When I come back to Mumbai, I will definitely be staying here again.
My daughter and I spent a week in Amit and Namrata’s charming apartment . It lives up to its billing all the way---- roomy, comfortable beds, a large living room with a drop-down dining/work table, and a well-equipped kitchen. At my request, Amit was gracious enough to add a toaster to the appliances.
Great location, walking distance to the shops and restaurants on Linking and Turner Roads, a short ride on an auto (tuk-tuk) to the eclectic attractions of Pali Hill and Hill Road. Bandra station is a 10-minute walk, trains (avoid peak hours, as in any metropolis) will take you to South Bombay and its tourist sights in less than half an hour.
What really made the stay remarkable was the professionalism and warm hospitality of Amit and Namrata, as well as his mother. They could not have been nicer. Minor problems were handled without delay and sound advice provided on various issues. We would highly recommend it, and hope to be back some day.
I had an amazing time here with my coworkers! Amit's mother let us into the flat and she was extremely hospitable. The flat is in an awesome location in Bandra and for our purposes, was ideal for our commute and also for entertainment. I received this recommendation from a coworker and will absolutely forward this on to my colleagues.
Amit was a wonderful host. He was easily reachable and accessible. The flat was as described - no surprises, except one GOOD one ! He had done some grocery shopping for us in anticipation of our arrival, which was most appreciated. All appliances, including wifi, worked well. A few non-paying mosquitos did cause a little bother, but not in the extreme Some of the windows had small gaps that allowed some of the critters through; Amit was going to address this. Hot water whenever you needed it. Filtered water as you needed it.The trains - we got used to them quite fast. The neighborhood was fairly quiet, but close enough - walking distance - to the joyous chaos of the busy streets. Many good eating places and vendors in walking distance. We were treated to a delicious dinner at a lovely nearby restaurant by Amit and family. Uncalled for, but, much appreciated. All in all: good value for my money. Thank you, Amit !
As Amit mentioned, my own travel plans were cut short, but my friends were able to enjoy the accommodations I had booked with Amit. Thus, my interaction with Amit was limited to a handful of pleasant and helpful e-mails.
My friends did enjoy the apartment and Amit's description and photos were accurate. One of the beds is essentially some nice padding on the floor, so just be aware of that. Again, this is accurately depicted in the photos.
We had a great time at this place. It is really excellently located in the heart of Bandra, close to tons of great restaurants and nightlife spots and very convenient to the rail station. The place is cozy and clean and well air conditioned which was key.
The host was great and extremely organized and flexible. He even left us breakfast supplies for our stay! Would definitely come back to this place if I was coming through Mumbai again.
I work in Marketing Communications and have spent a year in UK, during my 'younger' days:) I speak a little French, (pas tres bien, mais un peu!)
I love travelling and experiencing new cultures, way of life and most importantly, different cuisines. In an ideal world, i would love to work 8 months of the year, and travel around India and the world the rest of the time. Until that becomes a reality, i try to make do with the one off escapes that come up :) So far, Istanbul has been my most favourite city.
As far as hosting style is concerned, i am fairly flexible. If you would like to get to know me better and would like me to show you around my favorite hangouts in Bandra, or places where Bombay folk love to enjoy a drink and grab a bite, i'll be more than happy to show you around (and maybe even join you, if you like). Just let me know. If not, am cool with that too. Maybe i might just drop in once or twice (never unannounced:) when you are staying over, to say hi and make sure you are comfortable and doing great.
If you would like to know anything more about me and my family, please ask away:)
