Located on Mt Olympus, our tastefully furnished one bedroom apartment overlooks the east bay and southern neighborhoods of San Francisco. Enjoy stunning sunrises, city views and weather watching from a private balcony. Easy walk to public transit!

The Space

Explore San Francisco from the centrally located, sunny hilltop of Mount Olympus in this spacious 1 bedroom, 1 bath apartment.

Enter the building through a common entrance; go down a flight of stairs through your private entrance to a sunny, light-filled retreat space with panoramic southeast views. This fully furnished unit is tastefully decorated in a contemporary style with all the comforts of home.

The Living Space: Enter the foyer through the kitchen, dining area and living room to the sliding glass door that lead to a private balcony that looks out to the bay.

The updated kitchen is fully furnished with new stainless appliances and kitchenware. There are several grocery stores nearby if you want to cook, and of course, lots of great places to eat out or order in if you don't. Eat at a bistro table with barstools.

The living room (email hidden) housing a comfy couch with a queen sleeper and a 42" HD flatscreen, premium channels and WiFi. Enjoy the sunrise with morning coffee or city lights with wine on the balcony of the living room.

The bedroom has a queen bed with a nightstand, lamp, dresser, full-length mirror, and large closet. Just beyond the bathroom is a washer and dryer.

The bathroom has a tub and shower, hair dryer and towels, soap, shampoo, body wash and TP are provided.

There is a washer/dryer in the apartment for your use.

The space will comfortably fit a single or a couple or a family with 1 or 2 children. Four adults sharing the space will find it a bit cramped.

It (email hidden) for a business traveller, a romantic getaway for two, a small family, and of course, a vacation destination for the City by the Bay.

We live upstairs and love sharing our space in the City with our guests. Please let us know what we can do to make your stay memorable. We are extremely respectful of your space and precious vacation time. We hope you leave your heart in San Francisco on Mount Olympus!

Guest Access

The apartment has just about anything you need to enjoy your stay including the essentials: toilet paper, soap, shampoo, hair dryer, body wash, soap, towels and bed linens. There is an in-unit washer/dryer for your use during your stay.

We do not (email hidden), but it is not difficult to find a spot to park especially if you have a smaller car.

Interaction with Guests

We greet each guest upon arrival to show the apartment, go over house rules and routines, and answer any questions. This may be the only time our paths cross. We love to share our transit tips, favorite restaurants, and things to do with you, but also understand the fun of discovery. We value our privacy as you value yours. That said, we live upstairs and are always as close as the phone or a text to provide assistance as needed or requested.

The Neighborhood

Mount Olympus is a hidden gem of a neighborhood that was once known as the geographical center of the city. The top is a very short walk from Stunning Views and from there you will (email hidden) view of San Francisco and on a clear day you can see forever!

There are also two nearby parks, Buena Vista Park and Corona Heights Park, which offer a quick hike also with spectacular views of the City. And of course, Golden Gate Park and all it has to offer, is a short walk from here.

Sorry, we do not provide parking. But parking is not difficult in our neighborhood, but the smaller the car the easier it is to park.

Getting around

It is a short downhill walk to catch busses, subways or streetcar to take you in any direction. The same bus options will bring you home, but be mindful that the last few blocks are an uphill walk. If you have a car, street parking is not too difficult.

Mount Olympus will work for any type of stay in San Francisco.

If you love to explore neighborhoods, Mount Olympus is centrally located to everything! Walk the stairs down to the Castro or up to Twin Peaks. Walk to the Haight-Ashbury or Cole Valley. Take the bus (N Judah) to UCSF or downtown.
If you are here for the food, there are eateries everywhere, but some of the best known great spots in the nearby Mission or Potrero Hill are easily accessible by foot or bus (33 Stanyan and 22 Fillmore).

If you are a nature lover, it is a short walk to San Francisco's green spaces, including Buena Vista, Golden Gate, Corona Heights and Duboce parks, a train (N Judah) ride to Ocean Beach or a bus to the Presidio National Park (33 Stanyan or 43 Masonic).

Download Routesy, MuniTracker, NextBus to get departure/arrival times for the (phone number hidden), F-Line Streetcar, or MuniMetro (light rail). More information about the transit system is (email hidden) .

Other Things to Note

Greetings and Welcome to Stunning Views! We hope you will have a pleasant stay in our fair city.
We live upstairs and although we are in and out during the day, we are always available to you by phone if you have any questions, need recommendations for transportation or restaurants, or if you have any issues with the space. Please don’t hesitate to call or text one of us if you need something.

If you have a car, parking is generally available within a block or so of our place. As are we, our neighbors are quite territorial with their driveways and spaces in between, so if you have any doubts as to whether your car fits in the space, do yourself a favor and find another spot. A parking ticket or towed vehicle is an unpleasant and expensive experience anytime, but especially when on vacation.

Public transportation is plentiful in the city and there are several public transportation options available from our neighborhood. If you will be using the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Authority for the busses, under/over ground trains, and/or streetcars (the (email hidden) ) you may want to consider purchasing a (one day, three day, or week long) City Pass. It is good for unlimited fares and also includes admission to some San Francisco attractions. The closest place to purchase one is Cole Valley Hardware or SF Visitors Center at the Halladie Plaza Powell Street BART/MUNI Station Downtown.

In San Francisco, composting and recycling is mandatory and routine.

Finally, please read the House Rules and share them with the others in your group. They exist for the comfort and safety of all the present and future guests of Stunning Views and we truly appreciate your compliance.

On your departure day, checkout is at 11:00 am. We can occasionally accommodate a later checkout, unless we are hosting another guest later that day. If that is the case, then we will need every moment after to prepare the space for the next guest. If you wish to do a little more sightseeing on your checkout day, you are welcome to leave your luggage with us for safekeeping until you depart for the airport. It will help us a great deal if you can give us an approximate time of your departure only so we can firm up the schedule for our cleaning crew.

We hope you will have a wonderful time in San Francisco. Thank you for choosing our place for your stay and please let us know how we can help you make the most of your visit.

  • The title of the listing says it all - stunning views indeed! They were even better than the pictures suggested. The apartment is immaculate, and Deb and Greg were wonderful hosts. We had everything we needed, and communication was clear and easy. We found our new regular place to stay in SF!

  • We loved our stay and would return for a stay on our next trip to SF. The apartment was spotless when we arrived, and Deb gave us a great overview of the area and the best ways to get around. The views are amazing!

  • Great apartment. Deb and Greg are great hosts. Very kind of them to provide some fruit, tea/coffee, and simple breakfast items as well. Would definitely stay here again.

  • Deb & Gregs spot is perfect. We wandered SF for 4 days and occasionally wondered if there was a more perfect location for our next trip to the city. None exist. For beauty and quiet and closeness to the Mission, the Castro, the Haight and Golden Gate this is it. We do and need to walk(lots a gr8 dining) and all these neighborhoods are within walking distance for any decent walker. The apartment was beautiful and no detail left undone. Thank you!!

  • Our experience could not have been better. Deb and Greg were the best hosts we could have hoped for. They were always contactable and willing to answer any questions we had. The apartment is very well maintained - great appliances, fantastic bathroom and a very comfy bedroom. But the most spectacular thing was the location. If you are after a more authentic San Fran experience this is the perfect place. It's walking distance to haight ashbury and only a short cab drive to anywhere in the city. The views are unbelievable and we couldn't rave about them more. We still can't get over how lucky we were to find this place - ten out of ten.

  • The view is indeed stunning. Apartment is beautifully decorated and very comfortable. Everything from artwork to snacks reflected Deb and Greg's pride in their city. (Delicious local coffee and other goodies were thoughtfully provided.) We did not have time to enjoy cooking in the kitchen which we regretted since it was spacious and completely provisioned.
Deb and Greg friendly and welcoming. We will definitely stay here again and highly recommend their place. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

  • What a wonderful visit to San Francisco. Deb, who I met, was great. Gave me a tour of the home, walked me through the guides and information, and had set me up with some initial provisions for the weekend that were perfect! The views are beautiful day and night. I was fortunate to have very good weather during my visit and sleeping with the window open in a such a quiet neighborhood was a delight. It is close to great neighborhoods and restaurants; I did an Urban hike while there that started in the Castro to Twin Peaks and back. The home is comfortable, clean, quiet, and decorated lovely. It felt like a home away from home. I had arrived after traveling for more than 5 days, so it was great to have a washer and dryer available in the unit. It was nice to relax with some wine and snacks in the evening and enjoy the view. Deb was kind enough to allow me to stay another day when my flight back east was changed unexpectedly. I will likely always check to see if their home is available when I return to San Francisco. Thank you for such a great stay!

  • Deb and Greg were amazing hosts!! We couldn't have asked for a better first experience using Airbnb! Deb picked us up at the BART station, since we would not be renting a car, and gave us tour around the area, which was very helpful and also exciting since this was our first trip to San Fransico. Since we arrived before check in, she gave us passes to the museum and offered to drop us off while the apartment was getting ready for our arrival, which was so sweet and generous. Both Deb and her husband, Greg, had lots of good tips and advice for what restaurants and attractions to do within the city, which was very helpful. You could just tell how much they really cared about their home and their guests. :)

The apartment was just beautiful!!! It was so clean and the perfect mix of chic and homey, and the views were absolutely breath-taking. I could live here forever and be happy!! Deb and Greg stocked the fridge and cupboards with everything we could need so we didnt have to go to the grocery store right away. Everything was provided, from a washer and dryer to a hairdryer. The TV was great, with HBO, we could even watch our Game of Thrones, which we recorded on their DVR :) Seriously, we could have moved right on in.

The flat is nestled between a beautiful neighborhood on a hill that completely immerses you within the culture. It is very close to cole street which has amazing restaurants and cafe's. There is a bus line that is close by that we could take into the rest of the city, since we didn't have a car. I think one of the best parts was how close we were to Golden Gate Park... a park we competely fell in love with and highly recommend to every traveler to experience!!

And just because it is sooo worth (email hidden)riously, you could not have a better view of this beautiful city! Day and night, we could stare outside our balcony and bedroom windows.

Thank you Deb and Greg for a wonderful airbnb experience!! We recommend you and your beautiful home to everyone!! :)

  • We had a fantastic experience! I booked this apartment for my parents for Easter weekend, and the apartment and view were both beautiful, as advertised.

Deb and Greg were also fantastic - so attentive and helpful. Deb got in touch with me to help arrange my parents arrival during work hours, and Greg was there to greet them. My favorite touch was that there were little snacks waiting for in the kitchen, which was a lovely touch. Would book with them again in a second.

  • Deb and Greg are fantastic. Our primary contact was with Deb, and she was unbelievably prompt and thorough in all of her communication. She was never without a great recommendation for places to see, restaurants to try, neighborhoods to explore. A real San Francisco expert! We felt welcomed from the very moment we approached the front door of Stunning Views. Knowing that we were celebrating our honeymoon, there was even a small cake, a bottle of wine, and some goodies laid out for us. If ever we find ourselves back in San Francisco, we wouldn't even think twice about booking Stunning Views again. What a great experience!

About
Greg and I have lived in San Francisco for over 20 years and have enjoyed exploring our own "backyard" to learn about its many treasures. We have no children, but are pet parents to a handsome Jack Russell Terrier named Grady who rules our world. Both of us are retired after long careers and now spend our time having fun with friends and family. We both play golf (Greg more than Deb) and ride bikes (Deb more than Greg). We love good food, good coffee, and good wine; all found within a short distance of our place. We both enjoy hiking the City's green spaces and neighborhood haunts to explore the treasures of San Francisco. We love sharing our favorite spots with our guests. Among our favorite destinations are Kauai, New Orleans, Charleston, New York, the District of Columbia, the Oregon Coast and Seattle.
