The Space

Visiting Oregon's wine country? Why not stay where you'll wake up looking over a vineyard?

Our 4-bedroom, 2.5-bathroom home located in the hamlet of Dundee backs up to the vineyard of Four Graces. Literally dozens of wineries and breath-taking views are within a 10-minute drive. Dundee is also five miles from George Fox University in Newberg, for any parents out to visit their kids. We're 15 minutes from charming McMinnville, 40 minutes from the urban destination of Portland, and 1.5 hours from our spectacular Pacific coast. Amazing hikes in every direction, and the famous Spruce Goose (huge plane at an aviation & space museum) just down the road. From our front door, you're a 10-minute walk from espresso, wood-fired pizza, bbq, and local, gourmet cooking. From our back door, you're steps away from a calming evening stroll through the vineyard, with valley views from the top.

Our home has four bedrooms, four beds available. The master bedroom has a king Tempur-Pedic bed and attached bathroom with two sinks; tiled shower; balcony overlooking the vineyard. All other bedrooms are at the opposite end of the house, including our "vineyard view" room with a queen bed, the blue room with a double bed, and a room adjoining the blue room with a twin bed. Guests not in the master bedroom share a guest bath in the hall with double sinks; the shower/bath and toilet are separated from the sink room by a door.

You are welcome to use our kitchen to cook; we ask simply that you clean up after yourself. No smoking in house or yard, please.

Amenities: Internet access, bath necessities (shampoo, soap), television (basic cable), DVD, WIFI, washer/dryer.

Garage and street parking in a quiet neighborhood. Steep driveway and several steps up to house.

No pets on the premises. Due to hardwood floors downstairs and light carpet upstairs, we remove our shoes at the door to cut down on dirt.

**If you are interested in renting the house on dates not currently available, you may check with us to see if we're able to accommodate you.

**Our price includes the requisite 7% city lodging tax and a $150 refundable deposit.

Other Things to Note

We provide paper products needed, including toilet paper, paper towels, napkins; as well as towels, sheets, blankets, and everything needed for meals and cleaning up after meals. We clear space in the freezer and refrigerator for you to keep perishable items.

When cooking, you may bring all of your own ingredients (including flour, spices, etc), or you may use ours. If you're traveling from a distance, particularly flying into Oregon, it's a hassle to buy a bag of flour when you know you won't use more than 4 cups. So you're welcome to use ours. If you do use our cooking and baking ingredients, please estimate a value and leave cash for us to replace those items. I prefer to do our shopping, so you do not need to buy another bag of flour for us -- just keep keep track of what you use (no need to tell us), and leave money to cover those items. This is on the honor system.

  • We had a wonderful experience! My family stayed at the home while we participated in the local winery half marathon, and everything was great. The house is beautiful, and it's right next to the vineyards...the sunrise was amazing! It was a very quiet neighborhood, so we got the rest we needed before the race.

  • We had a wonderful time. The house is very comfortable and Kimberly is very clear about where things are and what there is to do and where to go for food etc.
We had a wonderful time with our grown children and my mom as we were there for my nieces wedding.
Would recommend this house to my friends.

  • I can't say enough about how lovely this home is. It's beautifully decorated, and everything from the wonderful linens to the beautiful floors says elegance and warm comfort. It was spotlessly clean, and our hosts went out of their way to make us comfortable and feel welcomed.

We took advantage of the fire pit and supplies they left for us to have a small bonfire, something our kids loved, walked through the vineyards down to a place offering a wine tasting, watched the deer and neighboring cats stroll through the grapes and the hummingbirds enjoy the lush flowerbeds surrounding the house.

Since this is the family's home, the kitchen was well-stocked with every utensil you could want to cook and enjoy family time together. This is the heart of wine country, and the area was quiet, peaceful, and beautiful. A perfect retreat, and just what we were looking for.

  • Perfect location and comfortable home to relax and enjoy wine country in Oregon. We traveled with another couple and all enjoyed the quiet location and scenic backdrop including the occasional tractor tending The Four Graces vines in the vineyard right out back of the house in the early morning hours. Sadly we didn't get to enjoy Kim and Rob's company this trip b/c we needed the whole house, but they made sure to we were all informed and coordinated everything we could possibly need before and during our stay. Would DEFINITELY recommend to anyone planning to visit the area!

  • Kimberly and Rob's home was perfect for our family get together at Thanksgiving. It was spacious, the kitchen was well-equipped, and the views were outstanding. Kimberly was very organized and left us info on anything we might have needed while we stayed in their house. Dundee is quite an amazing little town. Great running paths on rural roads and trails and easy walking distance to town right from their house.

In the days before children and owning a larger home, Rob & I planned for and enjoyed hiking, exploring, and travel. Now that we don't see the world quite as much, we're glad for Airbnb to bring the world to us. Our visits around Europe, Scandinavia, and parts of Africa add to our eagerness to meet those who live there now, while we also enjoy our guests from different parts of the US -- whether they come with the southern accent reminiscent of my childhood, or from just up the street in Portland. Our daughter will be 3 this summer, at which time we're expecting our second child -- which is why our calendar is blocked off for the month of July. But we look forward to seeing our guests before July, and will be eager to welcome you again come August, with our new addition established in our home. WHY ARE WE AIRBNB HOSTS? We love sharing the peace and beauty of vineyard living. We have the great good fortune of overlooking the Four Graces vineyard in Dundee, and the town and surrounding area offer excellent diversions of wine tasting, dining, hiking, shopping, and sight-seeing. REFERRALS: If you're staying in Portland before or after your stop here, I may be able to direct you to other excellent Airbnb hosts in the city -- depending upon the size of your party. And if you have more people than will fit into our home for your stay, ask me about other options nearby in Dundee and Newberg. Other Airbnb hosts are not far away, so you may be able to split your group between our home and another.
