The Space

We are renting out the master bedroom in our gorgeous brownstone apartment.

This room is luminous, spacious and bright. It has 2 large windows, a couch, a full bed as well as a single bed (with an extra single mattress underneath) and plenty of closet space. The master bedroom is on the main floor of the apartment with your own adjacent bathroom. (Our bedrooms and bathroom are downstairs so you will have lots of privacy.) It is perfect for couples and easily accommodate 3 or 4 (its HUGE!)

The kitchen is beautiful and new and you are welcome to use it. The living room is comfortable and cozy and has great natural light. There is a backyard where you can enjoy a meal on a warm night. Plus we have a washer and dryer in our basement! (we ask $3 for each time you use it to cover water and detergent costs).

Our house is on a picturesque, quiet, historic brownstone-lined street in the neighborhood of Bed-Stuy. We also have wonderful stoop. This is the Brooklyn you think of in when you think of Brooklyn.

We are an 8 -minute walk to the C train and 10 minutes to the A Express train, which goes to Lower Manhattan in under 20 minutes.

Across the street from our house is a wine shop and popular craft beer hall. Around the corner is a coffee shop, antique shop, breakfast cafe, second hand clothing store and more. There are delicious, famous restaurants just blocks away. We will make you feel at home and you will have all the privacy and comfort you need to enjoy your stay in New York City.

We don't smoke in the apartment but you are welcomed to smoke in our backyard or on our front stoop. We cook a lot, so you make get to sample some home-made yummies if you are around at the right time.

Let us know any thoughts or questions. We look forward to hosting you in our beautiful home!

The Neighborhood

We live in a residential area in the historic neighborhood of Bed-Stuy. Our neighborhood is multicultural and super interesting (in our opinion!). Across the street from us is a great wine shop, and craft beer hall. Around the corner is a coffee shop and the restaurants, bars and other local joints are just a few more blocks.
Be careful, you might enjoy the neighborhood too much to leave!

Getting Around

Subways: Nearest subways are Nostrand Avenue A/C trains and Kingston/Throop C train. Both go directly to Manhattan. The entire commute is about 20-40 minutes, depending if you are on the A express or the C local. The A/C trains conveniently connect with the F & R (email hidden) Metro-Tech station in Brooklyn, or the 2/3, 4/5 & J/Z trains at Fulton station which is the first stop into Manhattan.

Other Things to Note

**Our BIG HOUSE RULE is to make sure the front door into our unit is locked when you leave. It's easy to think it's locked from the outside, so we ask that you always just turn the knob to make sure it is TRULY LOCKED. Thank you!

Keys: You will have your own set of keys.

Towels: We've got you covered!

Bed: Full, flocked top, mattress, box-spring and frame with all the associated bedding. We also have a second twin bed and an additional twin mattress for a third (or fourth) guest, or for guests requesting separate beds.

Shower and bathroom: Guest bathroom is adjacent to the master bedroom (your room). You are free to leave your toiletries in there and make it your own.

Check-in and Check-out: Very flexible, but please let us know when you'll arrive and depart so we can have things ready. We will try to accommodate your schedule but on occasion we may not be here exactly when you arrive, so we ask that you work with us. However, we can almost always arrange to meet you at the desired time.

Kitchen: Is for you to use as you like- but please rinse your dishes and place them neatly in the dish washer. Also, PLEASE clean up after cooking. We will make a little area for you in the fridge and cabinets upon request.
Wifi: We will provide you with the password upon arrival.
