  • This was an ideal place to regroup after some time in the wild! Chantal was warm and welcoming and the accommodation was perfect: the cabin was quiet and cozy and beautiful, and the kitchenette was perfectly equipped for a couple of very enjoyable meals. The fresh, locally produced coffee was a particular highlight! Thank you so much again, Chantal - I shall recommend your place to anyone heading to Nelson.

Chantal was very attentive to our well-being and provided us with pleasant little snacks in our kitchen. We positively recommend this accommodation to anyone!

  • My experience at Chantels place was great! The cottage is so beautiful and the outside space was quaint and very enjoyable. I would definitely recommend this place to others. Chantel was an excellent host, and went above and beyond, with little extras like fresh milk, homemade jam, and bagels in the kitchenette for us on arrival. Great experience!

  • Chantal is a wonderful hostess, who provided a very neat, clean, comfortable and private room with a recently installed air conditioner that was a God send during the heat of the days I stayed there. The secluded gazebo, with comfortable chairs next to the room, provided a wonderful retreat for reading and enjoying the great weather during my stay.

One morning I wanted to leave early for a ride and on request Chantal provided some cereal and fruit in the well equipped kitchenette so I could eat and run the next morning. This was much appreciated and over and above what was offered by Chantal for the stay.

The bathroom is in the main house, accessed conveniently from the rear door a few steps from the room I stayed in. A screen in the hallway ensures privacy and I did not feel like I was intruding when I used the bathroom/shower.

It was a much enjoyed stay and I look forward to future stays on my travels through the Kootenays. I would certainly recommend Chantal's place for anyone looking for a quite, secluded place in Nelson with good access to all the area offers.

  • Mountain Swallow has a GREAT set-up and Chantal was a fantastic host!

It it is a beautiful home in a nice residential location, not far from town. The room is in a new and very clean and comfortable little cabin in the pretty backyard, and there is a path from the cabin accessing a private kitchenette that was fully stocked (including popcorn and locally roasted coffee). It was the perfect arrangement for us since we had a baby along and didn't want to wake up the whole house.

Superb value - we will definitely stay there again if Chantal is still in "the business" next time we are in Nelson.

  • My husband, 9-month old son and I stayed at Chantal's during our 5-day stay in Nelson, BC, and we couldn't have had a better experience. She welcomed us with fresh berries in the fridge and bagels and cereal for breakfast the next day (not to mention coffee!), in addition to homemade jams. She had helpful suggestions about things to do in the area and her favorite hikes. Overall our stay was incredibly pleasant and her property was beautiful and relaxing. The room was very clean and comfortable, the kitchenette wonderful to have, and the shared bathroom not a burden in any way. Definitely recommend staying here, warm hospitality and a great price!

  • Chantal was friendly and welcoming, and the room was very cozy and peaceful. It was great to have a self-contained cabin at the back of the garden to sleep in, and a separate entrance to the kitchenette and bathroom in the main house. Chantal left us muffins, homemade jam & coffee for breakfast, which we got to enjoy in a sunny garden. I'd stay here again!
