The Space

Visiting Oregon's wine country? Stay with us in the hamlet of Dundee. We love our home that backs up to a vineyard, and enjoy sharing it with others.

Dundee is in the heart of wine country, with literally dozens of wineries within a 30-minute drive. My husband & I enjoy just walking or driving through the countryside -- even without wine lingering on our taste buds. But Dundee is also five miles from George Fox University (and shopping and cafes!) in Newberg, for any parents out to visit their kids. We're 15 minutes from charming McMinnville, 40 minutes from the urban destination of Portland, and 1.5 hours from our spectacular Pacific coast. Amazing hikes in every direction, and the famous Spruce Goose (huge plane at an aviation & space museum) just down the road. From our front door, you're a 10-minute walk from espresso, wood-fired pizza, bbq, and local, gourmet cooking. From our back door, you're steps away from a quiet evening stroll through the vineyard, with valley views from the top.

As for our house, 3 bedrooms are available, all on the second floor of our 2-story house: Our "vineyard view" room [best view in the entire house!] has a queen bed. The blue room has a double bed, and a room adjoining the blue room has one twin bed. We can also add a queen airbed in the room with the twin bed. Our guest bath has two sinks, and the shower/bath and toilet are separated from the sink room by a door.

We have games, indoor and outdoor toys, a yard to run in and a park with a play structure a short walk away. If it's nice outside, you're welcome to use our fire pit for s'mores! (The s'mores aren't just for kids, but they're particularly fond of it.)

Bedding & towels, WIFI, bath necessities (shampoo, soap), DVD/TV with basic cable in guest quarters as well as downstairs. Coffee & tea.

Street parking in a quiet neighborhood.

Children are welcome. Our home is pet-free. Due to hardwood floors downstairs and light carpet upstairs, we remove our shoes at the door to cut down on dirt.

Our assumption is that the first two guests share a room. If you are only two people but want two rooms, please select "3 guests," which automatically adds one more room to your reservation. I've given examples below for you to determine your correct reservation. Message me if you have any questions!

2 guests/1 room (ex: 1 couple) [select: 2 guests] = $79 ($85 on holidays)

2 guests/2 rooms (ex: 2 friends who do not want to share a bed) [select: 3 guests] = $79/$85 + $45 for 2nd room

4 guests/2 rooms (for example, 2 couples) [select: 3 guests] = $79/$85 + $45 for 2nd room

* Pricing includes the requisite 7% lodging tax we pay to the city.
* Guests may choose their room(s). We book only one guest party at a time, so you will have the guest bathroom to yourselves.

  • We loved our experience with Kimberly in her lovely home. She was so accommodating even when we came in at odd hours. The guest room was very comfortable and quaint with the best view of the wine country. Her family is very nice and we felt so comfortable and welcomed into her home. They informed us of places to go and eat at. Even when first connecting with her about our reservation, she was very prompt in her responses abd updates. We highly recommend her as a host!

  • Kimberly was a lovely, gracious and patient host. My questions were answered promptly and her home was, indeed, very cozy and comfortable with amazing views of the vineyards and Willamette Valley. If you are spending a quiet night in town I'd recommend it!

  • We were lucky to find this place on our drive from Seattle to Sfo. Unique view towards the vineyards and a very nice neighbourhood - in addition to the lovely family.

  • The listing was more than I expected! A very welcoming and helpful family. I could come and go as I pleased and Kimberly even made room for my lunchbox in her fridge! The room was super clean and the bed soooo comfortable. This was my first experience with airbnb and I was pleasantly surprised. The neighborhood is very nice and I was able to walk to a nice place for dinner. And of course, the view from my room was gorgeous. I had a wonderful time, it was exactly what I wanted during my stay in wine country.

  • Our experience here was great. This was our first time using airbnb, our experience with the Felton's exceeded our expectation. We will stay here again next time we visit Newberg.

  • We had a great time staying at Kimberly & Rob's place in Dundee. It was so nice of them to allow us to stay as they were also away for the long weekend. Kimberly showed us where everything we might need was in the house and was kind enough to share their coffee, milk, and cereal with us. The house is beautiful, as is the vineyard right in the backyard. She told us of a nice walk around the area through the vineyard, and gave us some good lunch recommendations. She also thoughtfully emailed us some activities happening in the area the weekend of our trip. It was the perfect place to stay and we really appreciated them sharing their home with us!

  • Kimberly was a wonderful hostess. Her home is beautiful and the room we stayed in was very nice --- lovely how it looked out over rolling hills of vineyards! The sunrise in the morning was especially lovely. Location of the home is great as it's blocks from downtown Dundee and a short drive from Newberg.

    Thanks again, Kimberly!

  • One of my favourite stops on my USA trip. Kim, Rob and Madeleine are very kind hosts. Very clear communication and directions to the house were provided. The rooms are clean and quiet with toiletries provided in the bathroom.
Great walking around the area and there is some fabulous eating to be had in Dundee too.
Super convenient to the wineries in the Willamette which was the main purpose of my trip.
A good experience and I will miss them.

  • We just had our first airbnb experience and it was excellent. Rob and Kimberly are flawless hosts. I received clear communications from Kimberly after my reservation request. She got me started on setting up my airbnb profile and, after accepting my request, asked questions and gave clear guidance to make our stay a success.

The location was ideal for us. I wanted to minimize driving in wine country and we did that. On the first day we visited seven wineries, had a wonderful dinner at Dundee Bistro (one of Kimberly's recommendations) and went to the house. In the morning, started off with two wineries; all that with less than 10 miles on the odometer. Great location. And our room had vineyard (Four Graces, check it out, very nice wine) filling up two windows, forming the horizon. Watching the dark horizon turn to golden vineyard with daybreak was pretty nice.

Super nice host family, great location - we'll go back.

In the days before children and owning a larger home, Rob & I planned for and enjoyed hiking, exploring, and travel. Now that we don't see the world quite as much, we're glad for Airbnb to bring the world to us. Our visits around Europe, Scandinavia, and parts of Africa add to our eagerness to meet those who live there now, while we also enjoy our guests from different parts of the US -- whether they come with the southern accent reminiscent of my childhood, or from just up the street in Portland. Our daughter will be 3 this summer, at which time we're expecting our second child -- which is why our calendar is blocked off for the month of July. But we look forward to seeing our guests before July, and will be eager to welcome you again come August, with our new addition established in our home. WHY ARE WE AIRBNB HOSTS? We love sharing the peace and beauty of vineyard living. We have the great good fortune of overlooking the Four Graces vineyard in Dundee, and the town and surrounding area offer excellent diversions of wine tasting, dining, hiking, shopping, and sight-seeing. REFERRALS: If you're staying in Portland before or after your stop here, I may be able to direct you to other excellent Airbnb hosts in the city -- depending upon the size of your party. And if you have more people than will fit into our home for your stay, ask me about other options nearby in Dundee and Newberg. Other Airbnb hosts are not far away, so you may be able to split your group between our home and another.
