Margarita and her family are unbelievably warm and well accessible, even for persons (like me) who don't speak Spanish. We felt home at once. The farm is wonderful, quiet and spacey but neat. Lot of home made products. A lot of cute (also big) dogs, chickens, cows etc. Small apartment was comfortable, breakfast was totally awesome! Thank you Margarita! We'll come back in the future if we'll be in the area!
Margarita and her family were incredibly welcoming and made us feel right at home - even with our extreme lack of Spanish language skills! Her breakfasts in the morning were a highlight, and the room we were in had a fantastic view over the valley. Most of the other guests had come from other parts of Spain and were staying in the apartments with young families - there's plenty to keep young kids entertained, including the evening cow herding! It was the perfect location for us, as it was quiet and tucked out of the way but all the things you want to see in the area are within an easy drive. It is quite rustic, as advertised, so do just bear that in mind if that's not what you're looking for! We spent one night away during the middle of our trip in Soto de Cangis so that we were closer to the Picos and the coast near Llanes, but the drive there is very straightforward so you could easily do that part of Asturias as day trips. There are two local restaurants within walking distance from the house, both only spoke Spanish but El Almacen had a written menu so you could figure most things out. There is a kitchen which the guests staying in individual rooms are able to use if you prefer to make your own meals. I would recommend taking the time to do some research before you go, as while there are tourist information points in most of the obvious places we were glad we'd researched beforehand as it would have been hard to find things out while there. There is a lovely hike we found up to Bandujo that is nearby and we would recommend. It starts just after Caranga de Abajo, near to the popular Senda del Oso but much quieter (we didn't see any other hikers). We would definitely go back, though might spend a bit more time brushing up on our Spanish beforehand. Hope this stays a hidden gem so we can!
It was a wonderful stay at Margaritas house. The room was gorgeous, the area very beautiful and we felt very welcome by Margarita and her family (not to forget the cute dogs and cats they have). Also Margarita prepared a delicious breakfast with homemade pancakes, sausages and fresh eggs. All in all it was a great stay. Thank you!
By far the BEST airbnb stay we have ever stayed at. We (me, my sister and my mum) initially booked this place for one night with the idea of then continuing onto Galicia, however our hosts and the accommodation were so good we ended up staying 8 nights!!! We absolutely loved Marga, Manuel and Tita, they were so lovely and made us feel like home. They welcome you into experiencing a completely different spanish countryside lifestyle. The location is superb and there are many things to do in the area (exquisite National Parks, beaches, markets). We really wish we could have stayed longer, thank you so much Marga!!
Margarita and her family were wonderful! Very welcoming and unbelievably attentive to us. We arrived well after dark and it was a definite challenge to find the location but they went out of their way to accommodate us and to help us get settled. We are animal lovers and they certainly have their share-new baby lambs, calves, dogs, cats, chickens etc. It was wonderful. Breakfasts are FABULOUS-everything home made and home grown. She sent us home with lots of wonderful spices from their garden and lemons from her trees. We will love to come back!!
