We had a very nice stay at Douglasha House. Joan was very helpful in preparing our daily trips arround Killarney. Her breakfast was delicicous and we and our 2 children felt really comortable there. We would love to come back!
Joan and her family were great. Very hard workers, doing everything she can for her guests. Had the large room at the top, with plenty of space for my family. great location, and reasonable price. Wi-fi was off and on, but she has a PC available just off the dining area for use if needed.
Really enjoyed our stay, room was really lovely and clean and comfortable and breakfast was great, Joan was a great host
Comfortable accommodations at Douglasha House and we had a car so had no problem accessing it (Joan gave very precise directions). Joan was eager to meet all our needs. We were in quad room though just two of us. We appreciated all the space, the mini fridge and coffee/tea supplies, and beautiful view from the window. The king-size bed was comfortable and the en suite was good size. Full Irish breakfast each morning; plenty of parking; friendly children; Kerry Woolen Mills close by. Come and go as you please (front door and room keys provided).
We happened to visit during some extremely severe weather, so though we didn't get to explore the region like we planned, Joan was a good resource for alternative activities. We didn't think we would be spending time watching TV either, but with the icy and windy road conditions, we were glad she had cable/satellite TV to choose from on the day we stayed indoors. WiFi worked well also.
Though we had no problems with these next factors, you need to consider these details before you book: this room is on 3rd floor (most other rooms are on 2nd) so you need to maneuver two flights of stairs; if you're tall watch out for some angled ceilings (my husband is tall but after a couple head bumps he adapted); this is a family home with four adorable children including a 2-year old so you will hear family noises; close to Killarney but not right in town - more of a rural feeling which is exactly what we wanted.
Joan gave us some great suggestions on where to eat nearby. We had so many delicious meals in Killarney! Also, the Golden Nugget pub, located just a minute down the road, had excellent food with reasonable prices.
Joan Was our first experience in AirBnB and we were very very happy about it! We were a group of four people and stayed for a night in a very clean, spacious room. Joan was entirely too nice and made us a great breakfast and gave us plenty of tips about the Ring of Kerry (which we were going to visit that day) and Killarney, were we went to have dinner. It was a great experience and I would definitely recommed staying at Joan's!
Staying at Joan's was just great. She was organised, helpful and the room was lovely and clean. We stayed with our 2 boys for one night. Breakfast was lovely. The area was really nice. Beds were comfortable and the shower was good. We enjoyed our stay. If you are into running or walking, might I suggest going down the road and running around the golf course as I ran into wild deer with fawns and it was amazing!
Our stay with Joan at Douglasha House was incredible. Joan was a great host and made us feel right at home, she was accommodating to my family and our needs for our two night stay. The Quad Room was spacious, clean with a rustic feel. Her place is in a great location to start the ring of Kerry tour.
Very nice family, great B&B with amazing full irish breakfast. Very understanding when I had some problem for my booking.
You could definitely stay here!
