Breakwind Farm is 220 year old 6 acre farm located in a quaint and rural community just outside of Concord NH. In the summer months we have a small organic herb and vegetable garden and sell our produce at our stand and at the local Farmers Markets.
Our property runs along the Contoocook River where you can cross country ski or snowshoe in the winter, and swim and explore by canoe or kayak in the summer. We are also within walking distance to Elm Brook Park with walking/xcountry ski trails, swimming, picnic and recreational facilities. For downhill skiing, scenic vistas, auto road and hiking, Pat's Peak is a 10 minute drive, Mount Kearsage State Park is 20 minutes north, and Mount Sunapee, less than 30 minutes. If you like the adventure of snowmobiling, mountain biking, dirt biking or ATV riding, bring your vehicles because we have 2 parks located near us; Clough State Park in Weare, NH, and the Hopkinton-Everett Recreation park down the street. Love golf? Duston Country Club golf club is a ten minute drive.
Our town may be rural but the capital of New Hampshire, Concord, is just 15 minutes away where you have access to shopping, restaurants and cultural events. The White Mountains, Boston and seacoast are also within 1- 1 1/2 hours by car or bus. As you can see there is no shortage of activities in the area, however if you would just like to sit and watch the garden grow, please feel free to enjoy the solitude, or we would always welcome help with gardening and picking vegetables if you are so inclined.
In the evening, relax by the fire pit and enjoy the sound of the peepers and crackling fire, or indulge in the warmth of the outdoor hot tub. On the weekends we'll have a batch of our original Breakwind Farm Beans cooking for the Farmers Market. Have a free sample and canned baked beans will never be the same.
Come and get away from the hustle and bustle of the city and traffic and enjoy the country life for a few days or a week. You will feel refreshed and renewed and won't be disappointed ...like us, you'll probably never want to go back!
We usually have two bedrooms available, one with a full and twin bed, the other with two full size floor mattresses (see our other listing). Our bathroom is shared. You have full use of the kitchen, dining room, 3 season room, living room, porch, hot tub (except in July and August), grill and outdoor eating area. If you have a larger crowd, we also have plenty of space available for campers!

Patty and her husband were wonderful host the place was clean warm and inviting as well as very unique, the bedroom was stocked with everything you would need to an enjoyable stay and had all the amenities you'd expect and then some such as the spa hot tub overlooking tons of land and being able to sit in it at night with all the snow and stars around I'd highly recommend it if your looking for a place to stay in the New England area I will definitely be staying here again next time I'm in the area, they were also very pet friendly, thanks again Aaron
Patti was a great host and was easy to communicate with during our stay. Our room was large and comfortable. They have the most adorable cat who spent time with us and we loved it! They kept the house warm and since it was so cold outside, we appreciated that very much. One of our favorite things about our stay with Patti was going in the hot jacuzzi our first night there and star gazing. Thank you for a nice stay in your home Patti!
I had a great time staying at Patti & Rick's cozy farmhouse. The room was spacious, comfortable, and clean. I was pleasantly surprised to find a TV in the room, which came in handy before I went to bed. I also enjoyed the hot tub one snowy night. The bathroom was shared, but even with other guests, it was always available when I needed it, and the water was hot. I also enjoyed talking to Patti and Rick, who were very gracious hosts. I would definitely stay again.
Patti was a GREAT host! If you wnat to stay in an authentic 1700's house, this is it! We came in from the snow and warmed up next to the NICE, WARM wood stove. Got in out Pjs and settled in.
Comfortable room with cozy bedding.
Looking forward to returning.
Our brief stay with Patti & Rick was our first AirBnB experience, and they have set the bar very high.
They are wonderfully welcoming folks with a charming place. They made us feel incredibly comfortable and welcome, and we will definitely be back. My fiancee and I desperately needed a respite from "real life," and Breakwind Farm far exceeded our expectations.
Patti, Rick & Breakwind Farm now have another couple of ardent fans.

Hard to beat 59 awesome reviews, but here I go. Patti & Rick as you probably have read are AWESOME hosts. I couldn't have asked for a more peaceful and charming stay. I had the opportunity to try NH's best mountains (all info and guidance by Patti) and still come back home to a hot and steamy hot tub. You can't beat that, can you? The only thing I can say to you is. YOU MUST COME HERE to try it yourself. Good friends, good food, good times! Thanks Patti & Rick for everything and hope to see you soon.
We are a family of three who recently stayed at the '1790 farmhouse' in two separate rooms. Everything about it met our needs. Easy and close access to the highway. Great accommodations for a very fair price and Patti is an excellent host! Also, Patti makes delicious organic baked beans which she sells at local farmers markets. When in the area again, we will stay there.

Patti and Rick are two of the nicest hosts we have encountered. Warm, gracious and made us feel as though we were in our own home (and they liked our dog!!!). Clean, homey antique farm that is charming. We will be back again.
Very good stay, exactly what I wanted - to spend time outside of big city on my visit of US. Very friendly and kind people, open to discussion. House is real farm. Fire oven in kitchenen - nice at winter time. Fill like at home. At Friday night I went to local restaurant and cowboy was playing country music on guitar and pushing drams by lags....like in moves about old good America:-))) and at the night I was suggested to take at back Jacuzzi at backyard of house....night sky, first snow around and you are in warm water.
I rent car in Boston and drive about 1 hour to the farm, next morning it took me 20 minutes drive to get to Pie's sky resort, and about 1 hour to Wight Mountain National Forest with sky resort. As well nice think was to find at the morning some snakes in my room...
Kirill, Thank you for the very kind review! I know how difficult it must be to write in another language, I wouldn't even attempt to write in Russian. I just wanted to clarify the last sentence in which you must have meant snacks instead of snakes in the room, right? LOL! Thanks again Kirill, it was a pleasure meeting you!
Even with the weather gray and rainy my friend and I had a wonderful stay. Breakwind farm is incredibly peaceful and restorative. We enjoyed the cozy woodburner in the kitchen, the hot tub, the yummy varieties of baked beans, and the nice walks in the vicinity. It was just the break from the city we were looking for, and we only wish we could have stayed longer. Patti and Rick were very welcoming and made us feel at home while also leaving us to spend our weekend how we pleased. It was also great to meet the couple staying on a work/help exchange program. Overall a great weekend - I highly recommend this!
