This is one of the few places in the area with free parking.
Apartment #1 is on the ground floor and has soft lighting, double sized bed, full kitchen with a lg fridge, private bathroom and private entrance. The home is in a quiet and safe neighborhood just a few blocks away from the center of all the action.

The home is 4 blocks from 5th Ave and the center of Playa del Carmen and just 5 blocks from the beach and ferry to Cozumel. Depending on how many times you stop along the way it takes 5-10 minutes to walk there. Everything is convenient and close.

The space
Casa de la Curadora translates to “House of the Healer” and this indeed is a very special place. This is a large 3600sq ft home with 3 separate apartments that completely lock off or it can rent as a whole.

It is nicely decorated and includes everything to make the house convenient. Each room has a private entrance, private bathroom and kitchen and you do not see any of the other guests unless you pass them on the street. The home is located at a sidewalk, so there is neighborhood noise like dogs barking, children laughing and neighbors talking outside, as this is a small residential neighborhood.

Private homes for rent in Playa are very rare as development has mostly knocked them down to put up condos. Private homes are golden Airbnb opportunities here in Playa.

If no one else is staying in the main house, you’re welcome to enjoy the back yard and court yard.

Other things to note
One important aspect that is hardly disclosed is how loud the clubs and live music is if you stay between 1st and 10th Avenue. I purchased the home because of it’s quiet and safe location just a few blocks away from the center of all the action. A perfect hermitage and retreat for the adventuring spirit, yet so central to it all. Many places boast being this close and convenient, but this is special.

Playa is primarily a walking city, but there is a parking space available in front of the home for those of you who rent cars. Safe taxi referrals will be left on the books for rides to distant destinations. Although, being located two blocks from the Juarez, cabs are always available.

Although, you’ll see an airport nearby, it is only used for private small planes. It’s more of a joy than any kind of a nuisance to see them fly over head. I’ve never noticed any real air traffic over Playa at all.

Neighborhood highlights

The home is within the main touristic area of Playa del Carmen. It’s literally a 5-10 minute walk to just about every destination. The beach, ferry dock, Main Plaza, outdoor mall, amazing restaurants and entertainment at 5th street are all within 5-10 minutes of the front door. 5th street is amazing to visit day and night with the live band and outrageous clubs, but is very loud and energetic. Making it a hard place to relax or get rest. I love my homes proximity to everything and also that I hear birdsong every morning and it’s fairly quiet at night.

The neighborhood is a mix between original Mayan residents and a few internationals. The surrounding neighborhoods reflect a mix of Mexican and Mayan culture. This is a beautiful small city full of color, life and families. You’ll find convenient stores on the block, Chedraui Supermarket just 3 blocks away and many other restraints, beauty shops, flower stores and other conveniences very close.
