Shelter Island is nestled between the two Forks (South Fork, the Hamptons) and the North Fork.
Island is ideal for vacationing, just a quick trip from NYC, but a world away. Beautiful beaches, nature walks, biking, kayaking... also fine dining and nightlife.
Pleasant bed and breakfast, with a nice (though perhaps a little tired) room. Breakfast was provided every morning in the quaint and pretty lounge, which was great. We had almost no interaction with the owners as they kept rather to themselves (which was fine for us as we were busy exploring the island).
Good, clean, basic accommodations if you will be out and about enjoying the island and need a place to sleep and shower. Access and communication were easy. Thanks!
Our stay couldn't have been better, or easier. We never met our host, but there were helpful notes and our room was ready when we arrived. The room was perfect - very clean and comfortable and right next to the balcony where we had our breakfast. Great location near South Ferry. Anu was also very flexible with rescheduling our stay when a family emergency came up. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend to friends.
This place was great! The host made it extremely easy and convenient for my boyfriend and I to come, get in and stay. It's such a cute B and B. We enjoyed a glass of wine in the study which was very relaxing at the end of the day. The study has a wonderful assortment of books and is a very nice place to sit before bed. Everything was clean and really great. We came from manhattan and I can say, slept so peacefully due to the quietness and comfort level of this place. Thank you for a fantastic stay!
I found the place to be relaxing, clean, simple, comfortable and peaceful. Great location too. My only complaint is that there were groups of 5 or 6 dogs that barked periodically throughout the 2 nights I stayed there, almost as if there were a small kennel nearby. That puzzled me quite a bit, as no one seemed concerned about trying to quiet them down at 3am. Perhaps that is not the norm. It shall remain a mystery!
