This is a rare accommodation in Thessaloniki: a private house with 2 floors and separate terrace overlooking city, sea, and Mt. Olympus views! This house is big, bright, airy with character..nicely furnished with TV, WIfi, plenty of hot water.
2 bedrooms, 4 beds, which can sleep 7 people. Each room has amazing views, (you can see the sea from your bed!!) full kitchen stocked with coffee, tea, etc. Wifi throughout the entire house and on the terrace outside.
The terrace is one of the best in the city, most restaurants would be jealous of this spacious outdoor space with views=perfect for watching the sunset behind Mt. Olympus...
Excellent Location in the lower part of the Upper city...10 minute walk to the heart of the city center. #23 bus is also available, 5 minutes to city center. Nearby are cafes in the ancient streets of the Upper city, tavernas along the old castle walls, tourist spots, buses, supermarkets, etc.
A single room is also available to rent.
This is a very happy space with positive energy and a peaceful setting!
Het huis lag perfect in het oude gedeelte van Thessaloniki. Het huis was gezellig en schoon en zeer aangenaam om te kneuteren.
Jackie's apartment was perfect. Big cosy house with an amazing terrace. You can see the city and the sea while enjoying a glass of wine from the terrace. The neighbourhood is really nice with fantastic restaurants and bars. Walking distance to the center and full of small streets and places to discover. Unfortunately we didn't meet Jackie, but she was really kind and helpful and the instructions by email were always clear. Our holidays in Thessaloniki have been much better thanks to the stay in Jackie's place.
Handdoeken lagen klaar. Er was schoongemaakt. Je verblijft in een buurt waar je normaal gesproken nooit komt.
Great views over the city, interesting area. A complete contrast to the rest of the city, providing a quiet place to return to in the evening, though getting a taxi back up the hill is a good idea!
Plenty of room i the house and the terrace outside is good in hot weather.
Jackie sorted out some initial problems very quickly and helped arrange transport back to the airport at the end of our stay (taxis find it difficult to find the place it seems)
We have stayed at the house for 3 days following almost a month of traveling in northern Greece. It felt like a wonderful place to relax, enjoy views of the old city and the harbor from the porch, walk to downtown. Jackie was a wonderful host, ready to accommodate change of plans, full of good will and advice. Her Wi-Fi was perfect, written maps and instructions very helpful and the house had a charming atmosphere of the past. We loved it all and hope to be back to Thessaloniki next year.
We spent 2 wonderful days in Thessaloniki and in Jackie's appartment. It was clean and cosy. The terrace and the view is spectacular! The nighborhood is supernice with its small streets and old houses. Very close to the center. Unfortunately we haven't met Jackie, but the communication and guidance by Email was great. Thanks Jackie, thanks Thessaloniki. We would come back...
The place was perfect for our stay in Thessaloniki. We liked the charm of the house, the view over the city, the terrace for an evening drink or a breakfast...
Above all, the location is great. The area is charming and not far from the centre. So you have the best of both worlds (OK, walking uphill is challenging... if you have drunk too much ouzo ;). It is also very quiet, except the bells of a church Sunday morning I cannot recall any other noise. If I had to buy a house in Thessaloniki I would look in that area!
The house may be seen as "shabby chic" for western standards, but I think it's really OK, in tune with the country. If you want a 5-star experience you don't do AirBnB in first place, right? So who cares if you need to remember to plug the boiler 15 minutes before showering, what really matters is that the place is full of light, airy and charming, the host is very helpful and you'll find instructions, hints, maps, guides, etc.
A suggestion: take a taxi if you have heavy luggage (or just if you have luggage in general!) and be sure you have a CLEAR map of the area to hand out to the driver. We ended up in another street with the same name not far from there... In total we spent 23 euro (on a Saturday afternoon) but it's way quicker than taking public transport.
Just sorry we couldn't stay more! Next time maybe? ;)
