You're expected to have a great time. But smoke your cigarettes outside, it's nice outside. You can cook in the kitchen, just let us know when.
What a fantastic base to explore Brooklyn & Manhattan!! And it's no wonder Sean & Katy are super hosts... They were only ever warm, friendly, welcoming & kind, which was super appreciated! They were helpful & had no problems answering our questions and offering directions. They allowed us to use their kitchen for heating up leftovers, storing drinks & getting water from the filter. They have a charming young daughter & an interesting tempered cat!!! We thoroughly enjoyed being entertained by 'Cat'!!! The place comes exactly as described. Clean, private & cosy, easy to come & go at any time & reasonably priced. We'd stay again. Highly recommended. Thank you for hosting us!!
The description was accurate. It is very basic and a little dark because it is downstairs, but met my needs. Had a really good experience and Sean and his wife accommodated my late night arrival and were willing to let me check out late. They also responded quickly to my questions and were very pleasant. Would definitely stay there again.
Sean and his wife were extremely nice and welcoming. Room was very nice, neat and clean. Full sized bathroom and very comfortable bed. Air conditioner and dehumidifier made for an even better experience on a pretty warm weekend. Private entrance was a huge plus and I didn't have to worry about showing up too late. Flexible check in and check out time was a huge plus also. Short walk to Prospect Park, which is a fantastic place to go for a walk, take some pictures and enjoy an ice coffee and a book. A few blocks away from the subway, which is a short 20 minute ride to Manhattan. Many great restaurants, bars and shops close by. Overall, a fantastic experience.
Lovely and welcoming family, who made us feel very comfortable staying here--especially great when we had to make the arrangements short-notice as we were remodeling our apt. and our other housing arrangement fell-through. They had air conditioning in space which was helpful. Note if you have mobility issues the entrance is tight/basement stairs and there are tall steep stairs to shared kitchen, this was not a problem for us but for others reviewing fit. Sean was very flexible about check-in and out which was a huge help.
Really great little basement place with full bathroom, desk, TV, comfy bed. Host provides decent towels and pillows and space to hang clothes. I was too busy to see Sean and his family but it was good to know they were upstairs if I needed them and that I could use their kitchen (I never did need to). I would not suggest this space for anyone who has trouble climbing stairs or severe allergies since the entry has several concrete stairs leading to a somewhat musty below-ground entry. Once inside, no musty smell and pleasant space heater and dehumidifier take care of any dampness. Good to have car service, shop, Rite Aid, and inexpensive Prospect Bar and Restaurant nearby. I would definitely stay again.

About the Host, Sean
I live in Brooklyn, NY. I'm a scientist and music lover. I take a photo a day and post it to my blog. Been doing that since 2009. My wife is a musician and artist and teacher. We love to travel but just had a baby, so we are letting travelers come to us.
