About This Listing
This is the bedroom, with super comfy bed and soothing earth-tone fabrics. You can see the hills above Cole Valley in the distance.
This lovely 1-bedroom apartment in Cole Valley has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and private deck overlooking the city is a separate unit and takes up the entire top floor of our classic Victorian house. It is decorated with soothing earth-tone fabrics and charming seascape paintings, and will be a relaxing retreat whether you're in town for work or vacation. (See notes on PARKING in last paragraph below)
It has one extremely comfortable queen-sized bed and chaise with terrific views of the city, and a living room with a couch that folds out to a double bed, kitchen and desk, with VCR and TV (with cable, including HBO and Showtime) and internet. The large deck also has magnificent views of the city.
It is situated in lovely Cole Valley, in walking distance of UCSF and its shuttles to Mission Bay and elsewhere. It is a short walk to Golden Gate Park (great for running, walking, or just exploring beautiful gardens and nature), the Haight-Ashbury, and steps from public transportation (1 block to the bus stop, 2 blocks to the N-Judah train stop; we do not have a garage) and very close to the charming restaurants, shops and services of Cole Valley and the Haight (including a short jaunt to Whole Foods and other natural food stores).
This apartment is perfect if you're in town for work (especially at UCSF), or just in town to relax and visit!
I will mention that to get to this lovely apartment does involve lots of stairs to climb, since it's on the 4th floor and set above the street. But the view and light are well worth the climb.
In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here-- just (website hidden) "Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off), or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets).
We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (Kezar Parking Lot is within a 10 minute walk down the street on Stanyan near Frederick Street, and you can pay to park all day for ~$20-~25 for 24 hours, should you want to leave your car there for the day). There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for ~48 hours for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for those spots as everyone wants them!
While this is a self-contained unit within the building with its own entrance, it is still a private home with a family living below. In addition, there are tenants who live on the ground floor, so please be quiet in the evening/ early morning when leaving and returning home, as sound travels easily, and we don't want to deprive anyone of their sleep and sense of privacy. We expect kindness and respect, no crazy loud parties at all hours of the night, absolutely no smoking inside or out, and just general decency. We're pretty chill hosts, and enjoy swell people. Just be nice, and leave the place as nice and tidy as you found it. :-)
When your stay is over, please strip the bed and place all the sheets and towels on the floor in the hallway between the bedroom and kitchen (outside the bathroom). Please make sure all dishes and kitchen utensils, etc. are clean, and that there is no food left in the fridge or in the drawers. Any garbage should be thrown out in the large garbage cans along the side of the house. Let us know when you're leaving so we can be there to retrieve the house keys-- thank you so much!
This is the bedroom, with queen sized bed; there is an additional twin bed tucked away in an alcove.
The check-in was really well organised and the house was lovely. Sitting on the terrace with a glass of wine really topped off our stay!
The notes all over the house were super nice, and the shower was amazing. Thanks so much for everything!
Patrick was an amazingly lovely guest! I'm so sorry I spaced out and didn't get to write him a proper review in time, but suffice to say he was terrific-- quiet, considerate, and left the apartment in immaculate condition. I highly recommend hosting him. Thanks, Patrick!
This is a very nice apartment for a family of 3 or 4. The pictures are true to form and the beds are comfortable. The neighborhood is convenient for long walks to explore the Mission, Castro and Haight districts. Mass transit to downtown is only a few blocks away. Highly recommend Zazie for brunch or dinner - great food, try to sit in the garden, it's worth the wait. Overall, highly recommend staying here over a soulless hotel.
Fantastic appartment with extraordinary view over the city of SFO. Clean and well equipped and perfect for family. The terrace was beautiful. Great public transportation a few minutes away. The host, Stacy was fantastic and was always reachable when needed. We were lucky to find a parking spot just outside the house for all weekend.
Stacy provided extensive, detailed instructions for checking in, checking out, storing luggage, house rules, using the facilities in the apartment, and local area amenities. There was nothing left to the imagination; you had everything you needed. She was also very responsive when contacted via Airbnb messaging. She reached out ahead of time to ensure I knew exactly what to do to reach the apartment and to check in, and let me know when the space was available ahead of schedule. Overall an excellent stay. Oh, and the view from her place is incredible, a nice added feature.

About the Host, Stacey
Hello! I'm a friendly, open, intellectually curious and creative artist / mother / wife, world traveler and explorer.
I love: a comfy couch + a new book, preferably with a hot cup of tea; a clean kitchen + bathroom; honest, friendly, like-minded people; and cooking + eating delicious food. I love Paris, Istanbul, London, NYC + LA and just about anywhere in Italy.
As Airbnb hosts, we are here if you need us, invisible if you don't; we certainly won't disturb you if you prefer privacy. The apartment has its own entrance, so unless you'd like recommendations for restaurants or help with anything else, you will feel like you're in your home-away-from-home, free of intrusion. We take our Airbnb hosting responsibilities seriously, and aim to make your visit to San Francisco as lovely, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible! :-)
