This is the bedroom, with super comfy bed and soothing earth-tone fabrics. You can see the hills above Cole Valley in the distance.
This lovely 1-bedroom apartment in Cole Valley has its own entrance, kitchen, bathroom and private deck overlooking the city is a separate unit and takes up the entire top floor of our classic Victorian house. It is decorated with soothing earth-tone fabrics and charming seascape paintings, and will be a relaxing retreat whether you're in town for work or vacation. (See notes on PARKING in last paragraph below)
It has one extremely comfortable queen-sized bed and chaise with terrific views of the city, and a living room with a couch that folds out to a double bed, kitchen and desk, with VCR and TV (with cable, including HBO and Showtime) and internet. The large deck also has magnificent views of the city.
It is situated in lovely Cole Valley, in walking distance of UCSF and its shuttles to Mission Bay and elsewhere. It is a short walk to Golden Gate Park (great for running, walking, or just exploring beautiful gardens and nature), the Haight-Ashbury, and steps from public transportation (1 block to the bus stop, 2 blocks to the N-Judah train stop; we do not have a garage) and very close to the charming restaurants, shops and services of Cole Valley and the Haight (including a short jaunt to Whole Foods and other natural food stores).
This apartment is perfect if you're in town for work (especially at UCSF), or just in town to relax and visit!
I will mention that to get to this lovely apartment does involve lots of stairs to climb, since it's on the 4th floor and set above the street. But the view and light are well worth the climb.
In terms of getting to the apartment from the airport, you can take a cab here, a bus, the Super Shuttle (a very inexpensive, great way to get here-- just (website hidden) "Super Shuttle" to check fares and schedule a pick-up/ drop-off), or the MUNI train (it's right on the N line-- towards Ocean Beach if you're coming from downtown/ Civic Center; the N-Judah if you're coming from the other direction). Getting here with public transportation is very inexpensive and very easy. You just take BART to the Civic Center stop from the airport, and transfer to the MUNI "N" line, going toward Ocean Beach. Our stop is Stanyan Street (at the intersection of Stanyan and Carl streets).
We are extremely close to multiple MUNI stops (San Francisco's public transportation system), so public transportation is easy, cheap and plentiful. However, if you're driving, please note that while we don't have a parking spot, it's a fairly easy neighborhood to find free parking in. However, while parking is free, it is not unlimited. They ticket every two hours from 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday, so you need to either move your car by 10 am (not too hard, there are usually spots to be found, and most people start their day by then anyway), or park in a nearby parking lot (there are a couple lots within a 10 minute walk where you can pay to park all day, should you want to leave your car at home for the day. There are also some streets nearby (Rivoli street, for example) where you can park round the clock for free and they don't ticket, but you have to search a bit for them.
While this is a self-contained unit within the building with its own entrance, it is still a private home with a family living below. In addition, there are tenants who live on the ground floor, so please be quiet in the evening/ early morning when leaving and returning home, as sound travels easily, and we don't want to deprive anyone of their sleep and sense of privacy. We expect kindness and respect, no crazy loud parties at all hours of the night, absolutely no smoking inside or out, and just general decency. We're pretty chill hosts, and enjoy swell people. Just be nice, and leave the place as nice and tidy as you found it. :-)
When your stay is over, please strip the bed and place all the sheets and towels on the floor in the hallway between the bedroom and kitchen (outside the bathroom). Please make sure all dishes and kitchen utensils, etc. are clean, and that there is no food left in the fridge or in the drawers. Any garbage should be thrown out in the large garbage cans along the side of the house. Let us know when you're leaving so we can be there to retrieve the house keys-- thank you so much!
These guys know how to have an Airbnb! Everything is clearly noted, everything you'll need for a night or two is all in the place (including some Ben and Jerry's in the freezer!). Beautiful views in both the bedroom and the back deck. Pro tip: you can cast giant shadows of yourself on next door neighbors wall with the light on the deck.
Stacey was really helpful and the place was perfect for us. Good location, clean and with a beautiful view.
The apartment is airy and nicely decorated. Very pretty views. Convenient to other parts of the city. The kitchen is well appointed with anything a guest might need. We had three of us needing beds and it is important to know that the third bed is truly in the closet (though with doors open it was fine). The bathroom is spacious with a large shower. Best to bring soft-sided luggage/duffels as there is a very narrow walkway to the back of the house and steep spiral stairs (which were challenging with large bags and also trying to be quiet).
We visited Air Bnb headquarters the next day and put in a good word for this listing.
Had an amazing time at the apartment. Loved the entrance and just everything was very San Francisco. Signs all around the house about how to work everything, hope to return and stay longer next time. Cole valley is always such a treat. Loved the elevation of the unit and the long stair walk.
The host made us feel very welcome the house manual had all the necessary information and the apartment had everything we needed. The local neighbourhood was fantastic with good places to eat and drink. The road was quiet and people were friendly. We loved the view from the apartment, the outside space and the delightful bedroom with chaise longue, and the sun streaming in. The description was very accurate and we were very happy with our stay.
Excellent place! We loved this place! Good location and an awesome little house on a roof!! Stacey was really nice and helped us with more then we could have wished for. Thanks!
Space was great, exactly as advertised. Located on the top floor of the building, this rental has an amazing view with lots of direct sunlight.
Stacy was a great host, very responsive, and the unit has lots of documentation so you never have any questions about what's expected.

Hello! I'm a friendly, open, intellectually curious and creative artist / mother / wife, world traveler and explorer.
I love: a comfy couch + a new book, preferably with a hot cup of tea; a clean kitchen + bathroom; honest, friendly, like-minded people; and cooking + eating delicious food. I love Paris, Istanbul, London, NYC + LA and just about anywhere in Italy.
As Airbnb hosts, we are here if you need us, invisible if you don't; we certainly won't disturb you if you prefer privacy. The apartment has its own entrance, so unless you'd like recommendations for restaurants or help with anything else, you will feel like you're in your home-away-from-home, free of intrusion. We take our Airbnb hosting responsibilities seriously, and aim to make your visit to San Francisco as lovely, comfortable, and enjoyable as possible! :-)
