The single room is part of a wide flat where we live in (3-6 people in relation to the presence of some components of the family)
It has a reserved bathroom with bathtub (no proper shower, but we adapted it to so it is possible to use it as a shower as well) for the whole period of permanence.
Other spaces which can be used by the guest are the living room, the terrace, the garden (front yard), and if there is the wish our company and all the possible information that we can give about our territory.
It is always possible for guests to use our extra bicycle.
There are no problem about arrival and departure time, but we ask you to tell us at least one day in advance at what time you expect to arrive and check our availability.
We don't smoke, and so is not allowed to smoke inside the house, but we have a wide nice terrace where is possible to do that.
There is car place reserved, in the backyard with 24/24 access.
The breakfast is at the italian way, and can be share with the rest of the family. We use preferably foods that come from the fair trade and / or certified organic.
We live 7 minutes by foot from Mestre railway and bus station which means that's possible to reach Venice by bus or train in 20 minutes at anytime during the day and night (the bus run continuously just less frequently during the night).
150 mt from the house (on the same street) there is a bus stop, which goes to the main Airport (Marco Polo). The bus is every 30 minutes and takes circa 30 minutes to reach the airport.
The tourist tax, payable to the municipality of Venice, is included in the cost of the bnb.
We are already thrilled with meeting you.
The house is inhabited by a family, there are three generations. We decided to open our home to have the opportunity to meet people who are curious of the world, so if you want to tell us something about you we will be happy. We will reciprocate within the limits of our ability to communicate in English.
Check in and check out have flexible time, but we must agree on it. Ideally we set the arrival starting from 1pm and departure before 11am.
Breakfast is possible until 10 am.
We have no pets and we are not equipped to accommodate them.
At home we don't smoke and it is not allowed to smoke inside the house, however we have a nice terrace were you can eventually full fill your smoking needs.
As soon as I got to Giovanni's home I felt like I was with my family. My train arrived a little bit late at night but Giovanni's mom was waiting for me. The room was very clean, with information about Venice; exactly what they're showing in the pictures. I spent a lovely time with Giovanni's mom and his sister talking about different topics. This place is very close to the train/bus terminal. If I come back to Venice, this place would be my first option.
It was a lovely place to stay. Did not have the chance to meet the host, but Giovanni's mother was super helpful and friendly. Would recommend this place to all solo travelers.
This is a family affair and perfect for the solo traveler. Isabella (Giovanni's mother) welcomed me with a private set of keys, an open schedule for breakfast and return times, passionate information about Venice and also the surrounding area (Mestre). Even set a twenty minute walk/bus transfer from Venice, this home is comfortable, colorful and safe-fantastic exchange for the price. Giovanni's sisters also stopped by over the weekend, lending really fun and informative conversations over each breakfast and evening.
Giovanni responded very quickly which was great! I was able to check-in at 11:00am which was a huge bonus because some Airbnb places the host is not home until after 6:00pm and one must wait to drop off bags. Giovanni was not home while I was in town for two nights but his Mother, father and sister were all very kind to me. Giovanni's mother sat down with me and explained some history and key locations within Venice. I always enjoy hearing stories from people who truly know a place and all the beauty it has to offer. Giovanni's mother also prepared me a nice breakfast with great strong Italian coffee, my favorite! The room was big and clean, the bathroom was likewise!! :) Overall I really enjoyed staying with Giovanni's family, I would very much recommend staying and I would definitely come back! Thank you!
Giovanni was unable to be there during my stay but I was met by his family members who were extremely welcoming and sat down with me to give directions and answer any questions I had about Venice. I was not their very long but the accommodations were very nice and comfortable. It was sweetest thing when I woke in the morning to fresh coffee, breakfast and had a great conversation with the family.
Perfect location, nice house, helpful and cordial hosts; but more than anything, Isabella's love for Venice which shines in her eyes and in every word.
Thank you, Isabella, for sharing this love with so many persons.
