Looking straight onto the magnificent Loch Ness with clear views towards Aldourie Castle, we offer comfortable bed and breakfast accommodation only 6 miles from the city of Inverness . As we have uninterrupted views of Loch Ness where the mysteries and myths of the Loch Ness Monster come alive in front of your very eyes!
The house is a stunning stone building with the Church of Bona as our neighbours and was built around 1874. We have retained all original features where possible but still providing comfort and modern conveniences for our guests.
We have 3 large letting rooms which all have ensuite bathroom/showrooms and a view of Loch Ness. The Bona room has a double bed with large ensuite bathroom, The Dores room has a king size bed with ensuite shower room and The Bona room has twin beds with ensuite shower room. The beds are very comfortable with good quality duvets and pillows and the cotton linen is laundered with lavender to aid a restful nights sleep. We also provided is a seating area, 22" combi TV-DVD player with freesat, hairdryers, tea and coffee making facilities and free Wifi.
Breakfast is a very Scottish affair which includes the usual bacon, eggs, sausage etc. but also porridge and haggis for those brave enough! Also on offer is fruit, homemade yoghurt and preserves, bread, toast, teas, coffee and cereal all served in the dining room which also looks over the Loch . There is a resident’s lounge for you to relax in and there is private parking available.
The airport is about 30 minutes drive, train station about 15 minutes away. There is a bus stop at Lochend, however the buses are few and far between. There is also a taxi service available. Car hire is recommended.
Close by is the Oakwood Restaurant serving Scottish fare using the best of local produce and is renowned with locals and tourist alike. There is also the Clansman Hotel again very good Scottish food and has great views of the Loch too.
My family consists of 2 springers, 2 huge sons and a husband all of which are kept well under control!
No Pets and no smoking in the building
Lynda is a great host, and the Old Manse is in a great location right at the north-east end of Loch Ness. She made us feel very much at home, and was helpful and accommodating when we needed to adjust dates.
The view from our room across the loch is wonderful, especially at sunrise and sunset.
The old Manse is a great base for exploring Inverness and surrounding areas, but you need a car to do it properly. It's about 10 minutes easy drive out of the city centre; and we saw deer and a badger on the way into town.
Everything was very clean and well presented, the set-up was just as was advertised, and we had great communications throughout. Lynda also gave us a few very good leads on restaurants.
Very highly recommended
Lynda is the perfect host. She is a kind and lovely lady, she really made us feel at home and her breakfasts were delicious. The room was big and comfortable and also very very clean and had an amazing view.... we really coudn't ask for more .
Had a good time in the house. Its nice decorated in the rooms. From here its not far to the loch ness centre or to inverness old town.
Linda was a great host and pulled out all the stops to make us feel welcome (she even went and bought more tomato sauce (ketchup) for me to enjoy with my morning haggis). The Old Manse is a gorgeous BnB with big rooms and cute Scottish decor.
Nice room and good breakfast with all self-made items. more of a hotel than a BnB regarding contact and tips by the host. good information about the region in the nearby tourist information (6miles towards Fort William)
Great disadvantage is the location right beside a busy road (main road Inverness to Fort William / A82) - you need to be be a very good sleeper to not awake because of traffic.
The reservation was canceled 57 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
I highly recommend The Old Manse. Lynda is a great host who made us feel very welcome. The room was clean and spacious with all amenities, including a very comfortable bed, excellent breakfast and wonderful views of Loch Ness.

This is us, we have been married for ages, have 2 sons, 2 springers and 2 businesses! We started the B & B about 12 years ago and our property management company about 8 years ago. Alan is a decorator and has spent most of those years renovating and decorated according to my wishes!!!
Love hearing about the different cultures of the world from people that pass through our home every year.
We spend most of our time making our businesses work, dealing with son dramas and walking our dogs. Life is good!
