  • Alison and her husband were exceptional hosts. First of all, our stay was unexpected (we were supposed to go home that day but my fiancé fell ill) so we needed to find a place last minute. Alison responded within minutes and accepted our reservation; they were lifesavers.

They were flexible, accommodating, and extremely accessible. Our only regret was that we only were able to stay one night! It is located on a beautiful street in Clinton Hill, close to great cafes and eateries. I'd suggest checking out the Outpost Cafe, just up the street on Fulton - they have great coffee and a fairytale like backyard seating area.

One of the things we really appreciated was that they had a Brita filter available so that we didn't have to keep running out for a stock of water. The bed was comfortable and the apartment was so absolutely charming. The area is just a short 12 minute cab ride to lower Manhattan. The only down side was that my fiancé was recovering from being ill and the heat/air controls are not accessible inside the apartment, so you'll need to shoot a quick text to ask to adjust it - but they are super responsive so it was no big deal. Also, they provide PLENTY of extra linens, blankets, and pillows. Also available are iron/ironing board and blowdryer which is always a plus. We would definitely stay here again!

  • We really enjoyed our stay here. The apartment was immaculately clean, well-appointed, roomy and perfectly equipped for our needs. The location is just what we were looking for. Lot's of interesting shops and pubs nearby.....close to subway access and we were always able to park within a few feet of the apartment entrance. Alison and Dane were very accommodating and their excellent communications prior to our stay, were much appreciated. My wife and I are looking forward to future stays here.

  • Terrific location and lovely, quiet space. Felt like living in a real neighborhood; so wonderfully different from a hotel experience in Manhattan. Loved having the delis, cafes, shops, subway so close. Easy walk to major Brooklyn sites (Museum, Botanical Gardens & Prospect Park). Apartment fully satisfied parents and 2 teens. Alison and Dane accommodated all requests and responded quickly to queries. Will absolutely stay there again!

  • First off the place is exactly as described pictures do justice and everything minus the fireplace was in working order. You can sense the history of this place ..it will spark curiosity toward the previous inhabitants a century ago and beyond. Love that the place isn't too modernized the original sink, wall, ceiling and structure really adds to the whole Ora ....Rain ruined my garden experience out back but this place would be amazing in the summer. Ventilation is great and for an older place no mold and minimal rust, heating system a little creaky but it added character rather than a source of annoyance. Dane was a Great host :) very kind and explanatory. Awesome experience in all. I recommend this place if you want to explore Brooklyn Clinton hill is rich culture A+

  • Lovely spacious apartment with lots of character. The bed was comfy and there was lots of natural light. We found the street to be very quiet by city standards. The hosts responded quickly via texts and had a helpful welcome book with details on the area. Lots of cool stuff within walking distance and close proximity to transit. We had a great time and would definitely return if the opportunity arose!

  • This place was a find. Cozy, quiet, comfortable, reasonably priced, and in a neighbourhood that's not yet gone stupidly upscale, it's close to the A & C subway line, and easy to get to. Bonus; free street parking. The place has a well-appointed kitchen and a nice bedroom--great mattresses--that'll sleep two romantically and five dorm-style. We'd stay again in a heartbeat. Thanks, Alison!

  • A lovely, comfortable and very well-kept-up apartment on a quiet street near markets, shops, subway. A heaven of peace after the tumult of Manhattan. It is a pity we were not able to take advantage of the garden. And Alison was a wonderful host very discreet but very helpful, easy to contact, prompt to respond. We loved our week in NY thank you Alison and Dane.
