Me and two friends stayed 5 nights at Laura and Jeremy's place. We only saw Laura for a minute, but she helped us when we needed anything. The house is big en clean and had comfortable beds. The neighbourhood was a little dirty and at saturday night very noisy, but is was nog a big problem.
We were traveling with a car, but with the metro within 15 minutes we didn't use it all. We had a great time and can recommend this place to everyone who visiting Chicago.
Great, clean place to stay. Delivered on all expectations. Really enjoyable apartment to spend some time in hanging out.
Laura and Jeremy's apartment was great! Exactly what we were looking for. Very spacious and cozy, large kitchen and dinning room table to be able to cook meals, eat and play board games on(which they provided.) The beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable as were the couches that were both long enough for an adult to sleep on. There is a bus stop, grocery store and liquor store two blocks away that we're very helpful and you can walk to tons of shopping(thrift and new) and great food in Logan Square about a mile away. The neighborhood had lots of street parking and felt very safe. It was quite both day and night. I would absolutely stay here again.
Jeremy and Laura's place was huge and comfortable. My friends and I spent most of our weekend hanging out on the couches or talking and laughing around the dining room table, and there was plenty of room for three couples to sleep. It's on a residential block but is close to busier neighborhoods like Logan Square and Wicker Park, which we visited for food and drinks. We had a great time at the apartment.
We had a great time staying at Laura and Jeremy's while in Chicago! The train and bus were really accessible and there's a grocery store at the end of the block for all of your cooking needs. The four of us were really comfortable and always felt really safe...not to mention warm. My only complaint (and note to larger groups) is that there's only one bathroom to share. It gets a little cramped at times, but as long as you don't mind waiting for your shower, you'll love your stay. Jeremy and Laura were very accommodating, friendly hosts and we would definitely love to stay with them again!
It felt like home away from home. Much more relaxed than a hotel stay. Close enough to downtown and very close to Wicker Park that we really enjoyed. Looks like a great park nearby that may be enjoyable in the warmer months. Lots of room for a very low price. Great deal!
We came down from Madison Wisconsin for my husband birthday and we had has friend's over. The space is very large and very private with I love. I got there around 3:30 to pick up the keys and Laura came to the door with a smile to welcome us. I would let everyone know this is a great space to rent...... I will never stay in a hotel again
We had a group of 6 and a baby. The space was great with large windows for light, and once the place got warm, the floors and space were comfortable. The beds were ok. If we had a question, Laura and Jeremy were prompt in fixing or correcting the situation.
I would make a strong recommendation for this particular Condo. It is within easy walking distance to a bus stop from the Subway. The streets and walks were snow-covered b/c we were there in the winter. A great grocery store was within one block and had anything we needed.
It was cold, snowed, and thawing during our 3 days stay. We didn't spend much time outside due to weather. Although their are many resources within a short distance, we had to find our own way.
There were several things that we addressed with Jeremy and Laura. The 4-5 inches of snow was not shoveled off he steps when we arrived. We asked for a shovel and they quickly cleared the steps. We called an hour prior to our arrival and the heat in the Condo was 54 degrees when we arrived. It took several hours for the place to get warm.
The floors were dirty as evidenced by black on the bottom of our socks. We found broken glass on the kitchen floor. There were opened packages left by other renters in the cupboard and frig. Three of the 7 chairs around the dining room table were unsteady and/or broken.
We made a formal list of things that needed attention and hopefully these items were taken care of. The space was great and the rest of the unit items that needed repairs were presented to Jeremy and Laura and hopefully repaired prior to additional renters coming for the week.
We believe some of Emma's complaints were grossly exaggerated and we unfortunately regret having hosted these guests.
For this group, we allowed a complimentary 6 hour early check-in and 1 hour late check-out, and fully stocked the apartment with children's items to make their stay with a toddler more comfortable and enjoyable. We were readily available to promptly answer their 15 emails and several calls and always responded quickly to their needs. Despite all of this, Emma found constant fault with many aspects of the stay, and I'd like to take a moment to address her complaints which were communicated to us in person, in writing, and again in her review.
There are non-perishable grocery items-- olive oil, spices, cereal, coffee, condiments, tea, etc. in the kitchen for the guests to use. Past guests have thanks us for providing these items, but Emma found it objectionable and unsanitary that these were not thrown away after each guest.
It was snowing all day on the morning they arrived and while we cleared the stairs and path before their arrival and at later regular intervals, it was impossible to keep them completely cleared at every moment.
Glass was found under a piece of furniture in the kitchen which we regret, while our cleaning staff did clean the apartment before the guests arrival, they neglected to move furniture to vacuum under it, and therefore the glass was missed. This was addressed promptly and apologized for.
With our extremely expensive heating bills in Chicago, we do not preheat the apartment for complimentary early check-ins. For guests who would like to pay an early check-in fee, we would be happy to pre-set the thermostat when possible.
I regret that Emma had a less than exceptional experience and believe she would be happier in a full-service hotel setting.
Staying at Jeremy and Laura's apartment was great. It really felt like home. I would not hesitate to stay there again.
A group of friends and I stayed at Laura and Jeremy's apartment and really loved it. There were plenty of linens, cookware, dinnerware, etc.The location was great, but parking was a little tricky at night but not unresonable. If I were to go back to Chicago, I would definitely stay there again.
