The host canceled this reservation 16 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
We are embarrassed and upset that we had to cancel Mr Patel's reservation. It was entirely a situation that was our fault. Due to an oversight, we had already booked a guest that included Mr Patel's dates but not blocked them on our calendar. A family medical situation led to this not being noticed by us for nearly a week. We helped Mr Patel book a stay at a nearby alternate Airbnb cabin and reimbursed him the increased cost of that booking. Despite his frustration at the situation which was not his doing, he remained gracious throughout and we thank him for that.
house is cozy and very close to hiking, etc. fred and kathi were right next store to help us get set up, even though we arrived late. they also have a nice fire pit in the backyard and set everything up so all we had to do was light it when we got back from hiking. would definitely stay here again if visiting franconia

I had a wonderful time at the Ammonoosuc House. Clean, quaint and cozy. I did not meet Fred and Kathi but still felt their hospitality through the visitor info I was provided in the house. Great proximity to Bretton woods and the rest of the White Mountains. Excellent place to rest before hiking Mt Washington. I will definitely look up staying out this house again instead of some of the overpriced hotels in the area.
Perfect mountain getaway. My family and I stayed here and used it as our launch pad for climbing Mount Washington. The location was great for quickly getting to the Cog railroad and the Ammanoosuc trailhead, and it was easy enough to drive to other local attractions to shop for antiques, visit breweries, etc.
The house was just as described - snug for four people, but fine as long as you like each other! Everything was in good condition, the kitchen was the perfect size for cooking for ourselves and eating around the coffee table, the book, game, and video selection was great, and the outdoor space was also sweet, though we only sat on the porch.
Kathi was very responsive to my messages and made herself available for questions before and during my visit. Overall, we felt like we were being welcomed into a friend's cottage, and were happy to be there!
We loved staying in Kathi and Fred's sweet, cozy cottage. Perfect spot to go out and see this part of New Hampshire. And we achieved our goal up to the summit of Mt Washington - awesome!
About the Host, Fred & Kathi
Fred and I are parents to 4 grown children and grandparents to four beautiful grandkids and two on the way in 2015. Our favorite place to be is at our home in Twin MT, NH where we hope to retire soon. When we're not working on our fixer upper we like to hike, snowmobile, wallow in the Ammonoosuc River and enjoy an adult beverage by the campfire. Kathi loves to run and is often seen at area races running in a Tutu!
