15-20minutes walking from Sants, and not far from Plaza Espana which makes it very convenient to access to metro, bus station and also aerobus. Near a main street so it is easy to locate. The building is old but its surrounding area seems very safe.
My friend and I traveled to Barcelona and stayed with Starsky, who seemed like a kind man, although it was a bit of a kerfuffle at the beginning because he was re-decorating/doing some sort of renovation on one of the bedrooms when we got there, so there was a lot of mess all over the apartment which was uncomfortable to arrive to. Although I e-mailed Mary and she got back to me right away and explained to me the situation, however Starsky was stressed out I think and it made us feel uncomfortable and that was unfortunate. I also didn't realize they rented out two apartments and this one is specifically for air bnb, 3 rooms are rented out, and I wish I was told that earlier because I was under the impression that we would be staying with Mary and Starsky together, but I never actually got to meet Mary. I also wish I was told this beforehand because there was not a lock on our room door, so that was a little uncomfortable as well, only because I have been in air bnb's with either a lock on the door, or no other air bnb guests staying in the apartment, so I just wish that it was specified. The apartment itself was pretty cool after it was cleaned up, and the view is really lovely! The bathroom does not have much space though and the room had a window only to the other side of the building, so we did not have any natural light in our room. The apartment is located in a good and central area though, since it is close to Placa Espanya, where the metro/buses run consistently, so it was really easy to get around. Also, you can't hear any noise from the street in the apartment, so that was a plus! The amenities say that there is a washing machine, but Mary informed us after we asked Starsky if we could use it, that it is only for guests who are staying 1 week or longer, so we were expecting that to work out better as well. But we appreciate Mary's kindness through her e-mails, and she is very diligent about responding!
Thanks for the feedback Annabelle, we will keep your comments in mind. I would just like to clarify that this flat is not specifically for Airbnb. We do actually live in it. It is true that we have two flats, but we have our own bedroom in each one and we go back and forth between the two. We both work very busy schedules so its not uncommon for it to seem like we're not living there, but that's not the case.
I had a really nice stay at Mary and Starsky place, the location was perfect, only 5-10 minutes walk away from the metro and some of the places that I wanted to see was only 15 minutes walk away as well. The place was really cosy and they both made me feel welcome and at home. Would definitely recommend staying here. Great location, great people and an amazing city to explore. Thanks for letting me stay! it was really fun :)
