The Space

HOME SWEET HOME
Cozy Apartament for rent in trendy colonia Roma, which is one of the loveliest and hippest neighborhoods in Mexico City. Known for its classic architecture, its beautiful parks and its proximity to the historic center, this area is usually visited by artists, students and businessmen. It has its own complete bathroom and it´s part of a 90 sqft apartment.
There are 1 bedroom 1living room one kitchen 1 dining room 1 bathroom and a patio to take sun baths and water the plants. The floor is all wood and the ceilings are almost double height. The decoration of this flat won´t make you get homesick at all.
Its centric location is only 5 blocks away from the subway, 2 blocks from the bike stations, 3 block from the ¨metrobus¨ (which is like trolley), and about 20 minutes away from the airport.
Across the street there is a delicious bakery and coffee, in the corner there is a dry cleaning and one block away you can find Mercado Medillin where you can buy fresh fruits flower and Mexican food
It´s situated next to Condesa´s are, which is the path to various restaurants, art galleries, parks, coffee shops, libraries, banks and bars. Because of these, the neighborhood is safe and you can easily wonder around, finding almost everything you need at walking distance.

  • Stayed in Eduardo's pad for a week. It was a great experience. Mexico City is a fantastic place and let me say that I enjoyed it so much that I have decided to relocate to DF next year.

    The Place:
The building is and old apt building in Roma so if you know the history you know what the building has been through. Though it is old, I think that is what adds to the charm. The apt has sooooo much character, is well lit by the sun, cool in the day, and clean. The decor is very cool, including recycled furniture and pet turtles! Washer/dryer work great, water pressure is ok. Fridge is large and kitchen is large enough to cook a big meal.

Location: THE BEST! It is lterally steps away from Insurgentes Ave and Condesa and the parks. There (email hidden) bar a few blocks away, tons of street food, and restaurants and bars and the metro is about a 15-20 min walk. There is a bakery across the street, a liquor store on one corner and a Oxxo on another. Taxis pass all the time so it is easy to hail one. Roma comes alive around 8 AM and it is a noisy vivacious neighborhood, full of life. Roma is a REAL living neighborhood with people of all classes and you get the excitement when you hear the sounds of the city! It does quiet down and become peaceful after dark though so you will get plenty of good sleep with the windows open.

Host: Eduardo is a nice, polite, and genuine guy. He speaks perfect english and is easy to contact, attentive and on time. I was in contact with him during my stay and he gave me tips everyday on what to do and see for the day and night. He will arrange an airport taxi for you too. Basically, if you need something, he is only a phone call/text away.

In Sum: The location of this place is really what makes it the best! Also the price is good. Eduardo is an awesome host too. I would recommend this apt to anyone.

    Thanks Eduardo!

  • I really loved Eduardo's place! I stayed for two weeks and it was really what I was looking for in terms of being in a walkable part of the neighborhood where I could explore and sort of feel like a local (as much as my spanish would permit.) The apartment is great for 2 people. Really comfortable bed, big bathroom and shower, and living room. I didn't cook much but the kitchen has the stuff you'd need if you wanted to. The dining area was great for me to set my work things up on as I had a big monitor and computer that I brought with me. The internet was also really good and dependable as I needed it for work and was able to conduct all my VOIP calls through it. There is also a cute outdoor area and a washer/dryer which was also really convenient. The apartment also comes with two sweet turtles in case you're missing your pets at home. I saw some other reviews mentioned flaking paint etc. I think the point of Eduardo's space is that is rustic chic and romantic. Its not meant to be a 5 star hotel but I can assure you you're getting a lot more value from this place than you would at some of the boutique hotels in the area who charge 5x the price for a space that is a 3rd the size of Eduaro's place. And yes those places are cute, but go check them out for a drink. Staying in them is a waste of money. There's a ton of restaurants and bars within walking distance, as well as the great bakery other reviewers mentioned across the street, a juice stand and taco stand a stones throw from the place as well as two great restaurants next door. Definitely try the Japanese place 2 doors down to the left as well as the lunch place right to the left. Great meals for extremely reasonable prices. Also, Eduardo is a really great host! For the couple of things I needed he was always quick to respond and take care of what I needed. Next time I come back to DF I'll definitely check to see if his place is available. It really felt like home for the time I was there. Thanks Eduardo!

  • We spent 4 days in Mexico DF and had a great time! Eduardo's home is in a great location and was perfect. Very comfortable, quiet, and easy to relax. Communication with Eduardo was excellent and he gave us some great tips and ideas for the weekend. cant wait to go back!

  • The place as a bit smaller than it looks in pictures but we were extremely happy with it overall. It is clean, well-kept and very comfortable, the furnishings and colors are thoughtful and stylish, the patio (full of plants!) and roof are both beautiful, the bed and couch are very comfortable, pretty much everything you need is provided for you, and anything else is nearby.

The location is superb. We were able to walk to almost anything we wanted to do in the city - there is an endless selection of cafes, restaurants, bars, juice bars, food stalls, whatever you like, nearby. Walk west to Condesa for lots of great coffeeshops, bars, and green space. There's also a lot of bar activity on Orizaba, a few blocks to the east, as well. Do not miss Tortas Harry on Yucatan for amazing Mexican sandwiches!

There's easy access to the Metrobus which allowed us to access pretty much everything else we needed. It's a short walk to the Metro (subway) as well but we almost never had to use that due to the convenience of the Metrobus.

Eduardo was highly attentive, answered all of our questions in a timely manner and even checked on us periodically to make sure everything was okay (while being in no way intrusive). At no point did we feel confused or not taken care of. I highly recommend.

  • Great location! The apartment is great for one or two people. As said by another review the place is in need of a fresh coat of paint. Also some upgrades would be nice...(stereo? TV?) Eduardo was an attentive host and I found the place clean and in order when I arrived. The neighbors and pet turtles woke me up several times, which was not cool...maybe I am a light sleeper... I will check back in on Eduardo's place next time I visit D.F. and if there are upgrades I will consider staying again.

  • Eduardo was excellent, very punctual and on top of things, communication with him was great and we felt very comfortable. The place was exactly what we needed. It is very conveniently located in Roma, and we found a couple vegetarian friendly restaurants around the corner and a traditional panaderia which was great to have nearby. Plenty of taxis go down the street so it was easy to just walk out the door and grab one. Make sure to walk around he neighborhood though, Roma is charming indeed.

  • Eduardo was a wonderful host. He made himself available whenever we had questions or concerns and he was eager to share his opinion on good restaurants in the area.

The apartment is in a great location and for my first experience in Mexico City, I was pleasantly surprised at how safe the neighborhood was. Coffee shops, restaurants and convenience stores are all within walking distance.

The apartment itself had everything you could possibly need. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend Eduardo's place and I hope to be back at some point in the future.

  • Pacheco wasn't around to host, but said his friend Eduardo would hand off keys and help us out. Old man winter basically stepped on the balls of my vacation and I couldn't arrive till a day later at 1 am. We had to make last minute change of plans for my friend who was arriving sooner from sunnier locals. Anywhat Pacheco was always in radio contact and made several concessions for us. Eduardo was super nice and you get a sense the hosts are good people.

The neighborhood is great. Right on the cusp of bougie Condessa. There is a bakery across the street and a big friendly market a block away. Also not far is Parnita where I had the best wet torta ever. I wish I was eating it right now.

The apartment is best for two people. It could use a paint job to look like the pictures, but it was clean and comfortable. Everything you need is close by and things you don't need are close by. Excellent vacation. Seven thumbs up.

  • We stayed in Eduardo's place for six weeks. It is a bright and welcoming flat, with a large living room, a small but functional kitchen, bedroom and bathroom: the pictures give an accurate impression of what you can expect. Eduardo was punctual, reliable, always available to help us and offered recommendations for activities within the neighboorhood as well as outside of DF. Local markets, parks to hang out and read, bars and clubs - his knowledge about and characterization of these spots were unerring and authentic. There is a sunny terrace on the roof of the house and a bakery accross the street, both make the beginnings of the days very enjoyable; as the bars of the neighboorhood comfort your evenings. The cleaning lady comes regularly and her visits can even be arranged with Eduardo.
There are two small critical points: the water pressure in the bathroom could be higher and there is, in a very few spots, little paint flaking off from the ceiling. Considering the infrastructure, for example, the dependence of the water pressure on the basal plumbing system, and bringing back to mind the amenities I mentioned, both points of critic are pretty much insignificant to me.
I definitely recommend Eduardo's place to everyone.

    Thanks for everything, Eduardo.

  • Eduardo is an exceptional host.
We stayed here for 6 weeks, and would enthusiastically recommend his place to anyone looking for a great apartment in Roma. The Coahuila Street location is very cool- from the bakery/cafe across the street to the juice-guy on the corner to the full range of Mercado Medellin(just a few steps away). Paella on Sunday!!!

A little further afield(5-10 minute stroll) and you are into the hip scenes of Orizaba and Alvaro Obregon streets, as well as the charm and elegance of Condesa.

Meanwhile, the apartment is awesome with all amenities...we cooked often. ..laundry, quiet bedroom. Clean and well maintained.

Eduardo is helpful and attentive, but also discreet. I had a health issue while in Mexico(back trouble)...and he went the extra mile to ensure I found my way to clinics and pharmacies and hospital when necessary. Fantastic host!

Thanks to Eduardo for making our 6 weeks in Mexico City a great sojourn.
