About This Listing
Please note: AIRBNB calculates the rate wrongly. Its £60 for 1 person in a double room and £20 extras if 2 in that room - there's a maximum of SIX I can accommodate at any one time and I DONT RENT THE WHOLE PLACE OUT EXCLUSIVELY - we live here too!!
Recent converted Grade 2 listed barn in countryside location with fantastic scenery. Very high specification including Villeroy & Boch throughout, and Bang & Olufsen intelligent housing system throughout.
The barn was fully converted and finished in 2012 so is really very new! It is fully of gadgets including wifi, intelligent housing controls, movies and music all downloaded into a server.
3 generous bedrooms (ALL DOUBLE) are available to rent (either separately or together) all with new & expensive facilities. 1 is en-suite. Large bathroom, all fitted out in Villeroy & Boch bath and shower.
Most bedrooms have built-in tv's that can access all music and movies on my server.
Secure off road car parking behind electronically operated oak gates and fantastic views over Derbyshire Peak District.
Large rear garden and patio - ideal for BBQ's
Chatsworth House and Chatsworth farm are 15 minutes away.
Peak District only minutes away. Bakewell is 20 minutes away.
Sheffield: 20 mins by car
Chesterfield: 10 mins by car......both with great access to Inter-City links to London (2 hours)
Manchester and Nottingham are 45 minutes away.
There are 4 neighbours and a working farm (pigs and horses mainly) so if you don't like the sounds of horses passing by every morning then this place is probably not for you!! It's far too quiet otherwise!!
I have not charged a cleaning fee for staying - the price you see is what you end up paying!
*** PLEASE NOTE that airbnb displays the wrong total price when you enter the number of people staying. the rate is £60 for one person and £20 for a 2nd person. The SAME applies to each bedroom. (So 4 people staying in 2 rooms for a night would be £160).
I REGRET THAT I AM NOT WILLING TO RENT THE BARN OUT EXCLUSIVELY TO GUESTS (i.e. in my absence).
We operate the house along the lines of a normal B&B - other than providing breakfast, we would prefer it if guests choose to eat out in the evening rather than use our kitchen, other than for making drinks or snacks.
I've had a few people enquire about staying and when I quote these prices they say it's too high!!! Please don't message unless you're serious!!!! ***
*** Please also note that we live at the property!! ***
TV Lounge, Snug area (log burner in winter months), outdoor patios (front and back), kitchens areas for breakfast.
Interaction with Guests
we will be present for much of a guests stay - although we have no problem leaving guests in charge if we are out for an evening.
We live only 15 mins from Chesterfield and 20mins from the centre of Sheffield yet we are really in the middle of the countryside with fantastic views to the front of the property due south towards Chesterfield and beyond. Great area for walking and mountain biking!
Using buses are difficult but a taxi ride to local pubs would cost £3-4
I'm happy for guests to use my facilities for making drinks and snacks etc, but NOT to use the kitchen extensively for cooking.

From the moment we arrived, our hosts made us feel 'at home' . Paul and Andy are more than generous hosts; they are welcoming beyond measure! Genuine, authentic and helpful- nothing was too much trouble for them. Their attention to detail is what sets them apart from similar establishments & hosts. There is nothing not to love about this place! Where do I start? Though the interior is both modern and contemporary in design, this is truly an authentic barn (albeit luxury!); it is a 'home'- warm and welcoming, with every possible comfort to hand. This converted grade 2 listed barn really does offer both privacy and the feeling of space. Everyone in our group praised the quality of the accommodation, the ambience, not to mention the delicious breakfast! Our hosts even joined us for breakfast (it was a very early start as we were competing first thing!). Despite members of our group changing (arriving and leaving at various times), Andrew and Paul took this in their stride; they were flexible & only too willing to offer top notch 5 star service (with a personal touch at all times)!
The surrounding area is quite simply stunning! This is true respite from the hustle and bustle of city life! The view of the beautiful fields as we ate breakfast is an absolute delight...a sense of calm and tranquility prevails. Helpful, open & professional, Andrew and Paul are so attentive and interested in the people who stay in their home. They care about both their home and the people who stay in it. There is a genuine feeling that you are staying with friends; its the perfect place to unwind. It is undeniably Paul and Andrew's openness, generosity warmth & their 'good vibe' that creates a sense of harmony and makes this the very special place that it is. I cannot recommend highly enough!

About the Host, Andrew
I'm originally from North Wales and my partner from West Yorkshire. I work in Manchester/Sheffield areas. We live in the Derbyshire Peaks - only 30mins to Sheffield/45mins Manchester and Nottingham. We have travelled extensively, which we love, and enjoy meeting new people/friends. Love to experience new places and learn about them from locals, rather than staying in large hotels with nothing to offer!!!
