MoselVilla is a charming former winery with 11 rooms, an ancient wine cellar and a beautiful garden in the centre of Trarbach, surrounded by vineyards. The villa is the ideal place for a vacation with family and friends, a workshop, or a wine or book club.

The space
MoselVilla was built in traditional style in 1892. For almost 120 years the house was inhabited by four generations of the same family. We completed renovating this cozy house in 2015, retaining all the original details. The villa is semi-detached and equipped with all modern conveniences. There are several living rooms and a large vaulted cellar even containing original wooden wine barrels that were used during the wine-making process. Behind and besides the house there are parking spaces for 5 cars.

MoselVilla can be rented for holidays, seminars, workshops, offsite sessions and other special events. Truly the ideal place for relaxation, comfort and inspiration in an authentic setting with family, friends, colleagues, peers, wine or book club. Come and see for yourself.

MoselVilla is located in an environment where deep tranquillity and lively village life will alternate, depending on the season. Summer or winter, spring or fall, the scenery is colourful and overwhelming.

Neighborhood highlights

The town of Traben-Trarbach has 5800 inhabitants and is located halfway between the cities of Trier and Koblenz. For centuries the town was the center of the wine trade in the Mosel and after Bordeaux the biggest distribution center for wine in Europe. Large parts of the town center were destroyed by a fire in 1887. A true Art Nouveau craze arose in the years after, during the reconstruction of the town. The rebuild was driven by the wine growers and traders during that time. They had the money to commission elaborately decorated villas constructed in a metropolitan building style. In one of the major villas on the banks of the Mosel, the Buddha-Museum located.

In the center of Trarbach a steep staircase leads to the ruin of the Grevenburg, where in the middle ages The Counts of Sponheim resided. After the steep ascent, the climber is rewarded with a magnificent view of Traben-Trarbach and the Moselle.

There are many hiking, cycling and mountain bike trails through the surrounding mountains, vineyards and woods and along the river. The change in elevation can occasionally be substantial. Some of these routes start right in the vineyards opposite the house. Both Moselsteig as well as Jacobsweg run almost next to the house.

The large indoor pool and sauna complex Moseltherme and a famous Ayurveda Clinic are within two kilometers of Mosel Villa on the road to Idar-Oberstein.

The ancient Roman city of Trier is located Sixty kilometers upstream near the Luxembourg border. Luxembourg City can be reached from Traben-Trarbach within an hour by car.
