The space

This is a cute little cabin that is surrounded by nature and is very private. Just remodeled September 2017.
Two walls are teak wall panels from 150 year old Thai buildings as well as the teak trusses that support the 16' foot sky blue ceiling. Comes with outdoor cold shower, sink area and regular private flushing toilet 40 feet off the house. Covered hot shower is in the common area. The kitchen area has everything for cooking and is part of the common area.

This is a great place for those that appreciate simple beauty and nature. It comes with bikes for a quick 3 minute ride to wonderful Moloaa bay or a 10 minute walk.
This is a place to remember our connection to the wonder of life. It is a place to relax, unplug, and experience life the way it once was. That means we don't use poisons and you may see insects that are harmless such as ants, spiders, snails and roaches.
Come enjoy the open air structures, the healing ocean, and the beauty that is Old Kaua'i.
We have snorkling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers and bikes for our guest free of charge.
We have excellent well water that runs through all plumbing for drinking and bathing, so no need to buy water in plastic that was shipped from afar.
Mahalo,
Anthony and Hami

My son and I stayed in the Thai Garden house. I think we spent more time on the property enjoying all that it had to offer than we spent out on the rest of the island. What an amazing place! Heavenly! Rustic and pure! The 2 swings in the garden were super fun for my 12 yo son and I enjoyed them myself. The fruits and veges and especially the coconuts (that Anthony showed us how to get into) were unforgettably delicious and I felt all of my stateside stresses melt away. You're easy walking distance to a beautiful beach, though most of the beaches were dangerous the week we went. Easy drive to Hanaleii (30min) and Anini Beach Park for snorkeling (saw turtles). It really was the perfect spot for me.

I generally wait until I get home to write a review but I am compelled while it's fresh in my head to write this one in particular. It's a rare occurrence when you stay at a place that not only feeds your physical needs for lodging and such, but also your soul and spirit. This is that place. My connection with Hami and Anthony clearly comes from their connection with the space they've created and those who encounter those spaces. A sanctuary was what I was looking for and a sanctuary was what I got, and a whole lot more. Hami will happily walk you through her gorgeous garden and passionately answer all your questions with patience. Anthony will tell you how to score the best sunrise at the beach down the road. I can wax poetic forever about my stay but I'll say this. It's a special slice of paradise on this island. Not because it's fancy, but because the no frills of it all carries the simplicity that one needs sometimes to get centered. And you will find that here. You'll also find a lovely bunch of fellow travelers like yourself and connect with them upon passing. Most of the time everyone is out so the rare and few occasions might be morning breakfast where your neighbor will share their offerings with you. Or dinner when you decide to have an impromptu spring roll party and invite everyone to join. It's THAT kind of place. So everything that everyone else has written that's good is true. The only challenge I had was the convenience of an en suite bathroom, so having to get to one that isn't a few steps away within your room was not ideal. A minor inconvenience though and I knew that coming into it so not a surprise. The outdoor sink and shower was a nice add though so it kind of made up for the bathroom. Kinda. = ) Aside from that, there's dust that falls through as is expected with rain during the night and such...watch out for the froggies at night and in the bathroom. They're (URL HIDDEN) don't be alarmed. Again, you're enveloped by nature so know what that entails. The fresh fruits and offerings from the garden daily are a treat and one of my favorite things. You can get a lot of peace and quiet and the whole space to yourself most of the time if that is what you're seeking. I am actually bummed I didn't get to soak up that hammock as much as I had intended to. So, whether you're looking for some 'me' time or open to socializing with others, this is a safe place for either. Come with no expectations other than the fact that if you stay open to possibility, all kinds of wondrous things could happen.

Anthony and Hammi were very welcoming guests that opened up their beautiful yard to us. They provided fresh fruit and all other amenities desired. However one might want to know that the house you are renting is not exactly bug proof. Spiders were everywhere underneath the bed and I think it's fair everyone knows this before staying here. Also cockroaches and mosquitos are all likely to be guests with you as well. My girlfriend was woken by spiders crawling on her and when I tried to kill them under the bed to my surprise there was many many more. Very nice hosts with a unique place that is awesome. Just would have appreciated an honest review on the bugs such as this before spending the same amount of money we could have spent to stay in a finished home on Kauai..

Response from Anthony:
So sorry for the spiders, we have gone and cleaned them out and spread peppermint oil around which keeps them away.

The location is gorgeous with the local beach being our favorite of the trip. Our only issues were with the inevitables of being in the midst of nature: mosquito bites and roosters crowing in the middle of the night. Anthony and Hami were gracious and friendly hosts.

What can I say... this place far exceeded our already high expectations. This place is a nature lover's dream. The lush fruit trees and garden, the fresh air and spring water. Having Anthony and Hami as hosts was a refreshing added bonus. We will undoubtably be regular visitors of their beautiful creation.
