Thai Garden House by Moloaa Bay

Cabin - Entire home/apt · Moloaa Rd, Kilauea, HI 96754, United States

The Space

This is a cute little cabin that is surrounded by nature and is very private. Two walls are teak wall panels from 150 year old Thai buildings as well as the teak trusses that support the 16' foot sky blue ceiling. Comes with outdoor cold shower, sink area and private toilet. Covered hot shower is in the common area.

This is a great place for those that appreciate simple beauty and nature. It comes with bikes for a quick 3 minute ride to wonderful Moloaa bay or a 10 minute walk.
This is a place to remember our connection to the wonder of life. It is a place to relax, unplug, and experience life the way it once was. Come enjoy the open air structures, the healing ocean, and the beauty that is Old Kaua’i. We look forward to sharing the wonder of Moloaa with you.
Come across the bridge over the small stream that runs through the property.

We have snorkling gear, boogie boards, beach chairs, coolers and bikes for our guest free of charge.

Guest Access

Bikes, beach chairs, fins and snokling gear, yoga mats, surf boards, tandem kayak, spear guns, fishing poles, beach towels, scuba tank, boogie boards, and Moloaa Bay.

Interaction with Guests

We are happy to talk with our guest if they want to know about anything. We also are happy to let our guest have their own personal retreat time without interuptions.

The Neighborhood

We are just a few minutes from Moloaa Bay, which is great for swimming, snokling on the north and south sides, enjoying the nice beaches and hiking to the north point for sunrise to see turtles or whales.
We also have Moloaa fruit stand just up the road for coffee, smoothies, sandwiches; as well as a good health food store 10 minutes drive to the north. Also Common ground garden restaurant across from the health food store has organic and local breakfast and lunches that are wonderful.

Getting around

We really recommend renting a car due to the fact that Kaua'i is very spread out.
That said, the bus stop is up the hill at Moloaa fruit stand and hitch hiking is common and easy in Kauai.

  • My boyfriend and I had a wonderful stay in the Thai Garden House. Anthony and Hami have a beautiful property and we feel lucky having been a part of it for a few days. We got a tour of the garden and had a great time experimenting in the kitchen with coconuts and other ingredients from the land. We spent most of our days relaxing, reading and cooking, for which the place was perfectly suited. But activities such as snorkeling are only a short drive away. I would recommend this listing to anyone traveling to Kauai.

Thanks Janna for the good words. I do want to let people know that they don't have to drive to snorkle, since Moloaa Bay has good snorkling on the North and South sides of the bay and is a 2 minute bike ride or a ten minute walk to a fantastic half moon bay just 1/2 mile away.

  • The Thai House is a beautiful and cosy place. A little piece of green paradise with fruits growing from the trees and friendly pets. Anthony and Hami were very welcoming and made us feel at home right away. Anthony had a lot of great ideas on places to discover. It was also good to meet the other airbnb guests in the common room. It is a wonderful way to live Kaua'i. Mahalo.

  • We had a great time at Anthony and Hami's place. They are great and welcoming folks. Thanks again for having us!

  • We had a time at the Thai Garden House! This is a fantastic place to stay if you want to be off the beaten tourist track in Kauai. We enjoyed the open air set-up of the Thai House, met some great people also staying on the property, and LOVED Moloaa Bay (about a 5-10 minute walk). While this type of setting might not be for everyone, if you enjoy the outdoors, but want access to a comfy bed, full kitchen, and running water, give the Thai House a try.

Anthony and Hami were great hosts who made sure that we had everything we needed to enjoy our stay and even invited us to their beautiful home one evening.

I would definitely recommend the Thai House and the Matted Root to those looking for a unique Kauai experience.

  • Anthony and Hami's Thai Garden House was an incredible part of our vacation to Kauai! Not only did it provide my husband and I with a more "authentic" Hawaiian lifestyle, but it felt like our own hideaway! The bed was comfortable and welcoming after adventuring on the island. The shower was hot and refreshing. Being amid the nature was a great opportunity to see wildlife and hear the sounds of Kauai. With a short walk to Moloaa Bay, we watched the sun rise every morning! Not only do I recommend this, but we can't wait to return someday! Mohala to Anthony and Hami for hosting us! :)

  • If you lean a bit organic and are more aligned with nature than most, then Anthony and Hami's tropical sanctuary is a small slice of heaven on the small island paradise of Kauai. Bring insect spray, an open mind, and a creative spirit for one of the most relaxing, inspiring retreats you could ask for. Wonderfully accommodating hosts, friendly fellow travelers, and good vibes abound. I hope to be back some day to soak in more light and healing here. I can't recommend this place enough. Easily the most memorable lodging I've ever had the privilege of occupying.

Mahalo Mattie for the kind words, we appreciated having you stay here and look forward to spending more time exchanging ideas and possibilities for a better world.

  • We loved our stay here! Perfect place to end to our trip after spending the previous 9 days camping. The communal kitchen area was great and we loved our little Thai house. This is a great spot for anyone who loves to be surrounded by nature - There are beautiful gardens and fruit trees aplenty! We enjoyed using the bikes to ride to the beach and also made good use of the boogie boards (: Thank you Anthony & Hami! I would love to come back someday!

  • Anthony & Hami are extremely generous to share their lovely tropical sanctuary with us mainland haolies. They are super warm & friendly people, accommodating, were diligent about making sure the communal cooking area was clean, and on top of communication. The magical plant and animal life...and the soothing sounds of nature on their land is priceless and not to be found at any resort or time share no matter how expensive. Moloa'a Bay, just down the road, is a secret gem. If we ever return to the island we will definitely stay here.
Built from reclaimed wood and materials both imported from Thailand and found around the island, each of their spaces has a unique, rustic charm. We spent 3 nights in the Thai house and 5 nights in the Garden Room. We enjoyed both spaces, but do suggest that if you want more privacy the Garden Room is not the space to be in as it is attached to the kitchen/communal area. Regardless, it was fun to interact and hang out with the other travelers staying on the property. It definitely added to our experience.

  • Anthony and Hami are lovely people and terrific hosts. They've built a pretty remarkable place perfectly suiting the natural beauty of the north shore. If you like the outdoors, you'll really enjoy staying here.

  • This is by far my favorite spot I've stayed on Kauai! Not only is Anthony an incredible host, but his vision he has manifested on this piece of land is outstanding. Beautiful unique, open air homes with an Asian twist set amongst a jungle atmosphere. You won't be disappointed!
