About this listing
Bright townhouse with a beautiful view of the park. The private room comfortably fits 1-2 guests and is located on a quiet street near the bus stop. Only a 5min bus ride (15min walk) to the subway. Great brunch spots within walking distance.
We offer short-term parking via permit in the underground parking on the south end of foundry ave. you will park your car, bring your license plate number to the house and the online instructions are in the room, but please let us know if you will be needing it so that we can leave the key for you to reenter the garage. Our home is brightly lit and there are two adorable cats that will most likely welcome you when you come home.
The washer and dryer are available for you, with detergent included. There are instructions for getting to the airport, transit, etc in the welcome booklet in the bedroom. Please help yourselves to the tea, spices, dishes while you are here and make yourselves at home. We accept a maximum of 2 guests since the room only has a double bed.
Guests have access to the first two floors of the stacked townhouse. There are two bathrooms (shared with us), the kitchen and all the dishes/spices/tea, and the washer/dryer/laundry detergent. The guest room is private and we will not need to enter at any point unless there is an emergency. There are a few miscellaneous toiletries in the bedroom that you are welcome to use as well as a hair dryer in the bathroom under the sink.
Interaction with Guests
We are often not home when our guests arrive, but have a lockbox attached to our front door. Upon confirmation of your booking we will give you the code to enter. Please note that you will need to enter the code and slide the metal clip down to get the key. To lock the key back in you must reenter the code and slide the metal clip down to close the lock securely. We had a guest who just left the key in the open lockbox when they left and that is clearly not very secure. We are often out and about so let us know if you have any questions. We know that you are on vacation so we will respect your privacy and let you do your own thing.
There is an amazing weekend brunch spot called the whippoorwill. Located at Lansdowne and Bloor and open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays (10am). The starving artist on Lansdowne just north of bloor also has great potato waffles!
A nearby pub called Boo Radleys has a nice patio in the summer and pretty good pub food.
The #47 bus on Lansdowne will take you either to the subway (5min ride) or down to the trendy queen street west area downtown.
From the airport the airport rocket bus will take you to the subway. Head eastbound on the subway until Lansdowne station. Take the #47 northbound and get off at Brandon stop (in between Dupont and davenport) cross the street onto powerhouse road and follow until you hit foundry ave.
If you need access to parking there are instructions in the room how to go about getting a permit. These permits last for only 24hrs and you may only get a total of 8. Longer term rentals will not be able to have parking.
These are pretty much just common sense, but we've been told to write everything down:
I work on the third floor. If I am working with a client please do not interrupt me.
You must take your luggage at checkout. We have people coming and going all the time and do not have time to arrange for someone to be home to let you back in. We are strict on this one.
Please keep the cats inside at all times, this includes ensuring that the external doors and windows are closed.
Please lock the front door when you come home.
Please do not feed the cats any human food or pick them up.
Please keep the door to the guest room closed to ensure it has less exposure to cat hair for guest who may be occupying that space after you.
No access to the third floor.

When using the laundry machine please dry the washer after you remove your load of washing.
Please empty the internal lint trap after every time the machine is run through.

About the Host, Ceinwen
I am a freelance dance artist as well as a registered massage therapist. I sometimes work from home so am looking for quiet guests. I'm originally from Saskatchewan, but have lived in Toronto since 2003. I love cats and dogs, seeing new places, and meeting friendly people. My husband and I have been married for two years. Colin loves playing videogames and trains/teaches in martial arts in his spare time. We are interested in renting our spare room to relaxed singles or couples who just need an inexpensive place to stay while they explore the city and aren't super demanding/expecting a hotel like experience. We keep the spare room clean and tidy, but for the most part are more like relaxed roommates.
