Top unit of a stacked townhouse. Close to subway line, 15min subway ride from downtown and 5 min walk to major St. Claire streetcar route... also an easy bus ride to the trendy queen west/ ossington area.
We have two adorable cats and onsite washer/dryer. We are home most evenings, but offer use of a laptop, movies, and free internet from your private room. (likely the nightlife in Toronto will offer more entertainment options for you, but in case you want a quiet night in we want to make sure you are comfortable). Parking is also available upon request.
We have lived in Toronto for almost ten years, and as such know many great places for you to visit. We have a booklet with many options and sites, aside from tourist traps, if you are looking for some local hot spots.
We require that all doors remain closed and locked to ensure that our cats and home are kept (website hidden). Claire in our area has many restaurants and pubs. There is a Beer Store, and LCBO within walking distance of our house. Earls Court Park is located just north of our home, and includes a track, baseball diamond, soccer fields, etc. We are not far from Dufferin Mall, or ontario public libraries.
Our home is 3 floors. Both bedrooms are located on the second floor. kitchen is on the main floor, and the entire unit over looks a small public park. The entire unit is a newly constructed home, and we are still settling into the space and hanging pictures, paintings etc. The room for rent is modestly decorated at this time, and has plenty of space for 1-2 guests.
As far as our cats are concerned we ask that you don't pick them up as they don't particularly like to be held, though they are both quite friendly and love to be pet. Please don't feed them human food of any kind, or let them out of the unit. They don't really try to get out, but downtown Toronto is no place for domesticated cats to be wandering around.
Guests have access to the first two floors of the stacked townhouse. There are two bathrooms (shared with us), the kitchen and all the dishes/spices/tea, and the washer/dryer. Feel free to make yourselves at home. The guest room is private and we will not need to enter at any point unless there is an emergency.
We are often not home when our guests arrive, but will arrange with you how to enter the building beforehand.
There is an amazing weekend brunch spot called the whippoorwill. Located at Lansdowne and Bloor and open for brunch on Saturdays and Sundays (10am).
The #47 bus on Lansdowne will take you either to the subway (5min ride) or down to the trendy queen street west area downtown.
From the airport the airport rocket bus will take you to the subway. Head eastbound on the subway until Lansdowne station. Take the #47 northbound and get off at Brandon stop (in between Dupont and davenport) cross the street onto powerhouse road and follow until you hit foundry ave.

A pleasant place to stay with friendly hosts. We appreciated the peace and quiet you get from being on a quiet street right on a park. Getting downtown is quick and easy if you are ok with the bus and subway.
Ceinwen was able to accommodate our delayed late arrival. We enjoyed our stay, although we we're really there much exploring the city. Even though you aren't right downtown it's an easy bus ride or walk to the subway that takes you right downtown.
The kitties are quite nice and so are there owners, Ceinwen and Colin.
Was a really nice stay! Really nice people! 5 star for friendliness and if you don't mind catching the subway then a good spot to stay.
What a wonderful experience in a beautiful part of Toronto! If you're looking for gracious hosts who will respect your privacy while simultaneously ensuring you a comfortable and stable environment for lodging, then this is the place for you. There are numerous public transit lines nearby, and there are two wonderful cats to keep you company if you get bored. I would gladly stay here again and will recommend it to anyone who asks.
Ceinwen's apartment was great! She was there when we arrived, welcomed us to our private room and introduced us to the two friendly cats.
The location is great, near Little Portugal, which has two HOPPIN spots on it for great bars, food, snacks and great nightlife.
It was great to have a parking garage only a 2 minute walk from the apartment, and our bikes were secure the whole time (though we did lock them, the location is very calm and safe.)
Great meeting you Ceinwen!
Mike and Rebecca
Unfortunately we didnt really see Ceinwen a lot since we only stayed for two nights and always came home late.
We enjoyed our time in Toronto and public transport was close.
Communications went very well with them.
It was a really nice and easy going stay. We felt like home =)
Nice place, about a mile walk from the subway - so maybe not for the mobility challenged. We enjoyed our stay here immensely. We came during TIFF and stayed only two nights so we didn't spend much time in the apartment but it was a nice home base to come back to.
Ceinwen and Colin were great hosts, very organized and friendly. They also accommodated both a late arrival and early departure, which we appreciated. Their home is in a great location, with easy access to downtown for site seeing and visiting the various interesting neighborhoods (e.g., Kensington Market). Their place was clean and pleasant. We also loved having the cats around and enjoyed seeing them as we departed each day for the city. Overall we had a great time meeting Ceinwen and Colin and exploring the city of Toronto. We'd definitely recommend their place to other visitors to the area.
Definitely worth recommending. Ceinwen and Colin were keen to arrange the details of our stay. They gave us some nice hints on what to do in Toronto (that we enjoyed a lot, BTW) and staying with them was a really pleasent experience. Wish we can come back to Ontario some other day. Would surely ask to stay with C&C one more time.
