Discover the fizzling life of the Port des Champs Elysées. In a somptuous setting, this little yellow boat looks after the amazing Pont Alexandre III. Located in the very heart of Paris, this boat stands at the bottom of the greatest monuments : the Grand Palais, the Louvre Museum, the Orsay Museum, the Rotonde des Invalides. From the quay, you can go plesantly throughout all the city along the Seine River by foot or by the famous boat "bateau-mouche". You will see : the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, the Champs Elysées, the Arc de Triomphe, the Quai Branly...
The 2 nearest metro stations are "Champs Elysées Clemenceau" and "Invalides".
The Tjalk boat has a sunny terrace with open and spectacular view to the Seine River.
It's a magical place for breakfasts or diners to share. You will be a little appart from the excitement of the big City of Lights and in the middle of it at the same time.
The boat has a lovely dining room and kitchen all open with windows so you can enjoy the place and light whilst sheltered.
A few steps downstairs, you will find a cosy living room with a convertible sofa for two adults.
You can have two more persons on 2 small couches in the dining room.
Then, following the corridor, you will find the toilets separated from the bathroom (with bathtub) until you reach the comfortable bedroom for two adults.
You will certainly enjoy this atypical way of discovering the beautiful Paris !
We had an amazing time on Yoan's boat. If you want to immerse yourself if Paris this is it! Located under the picturesque Alexandre III bridge in the heart of Paris.
The Paris Libre hire bikes are located nearby so Paris is open for you to explore. Yoan directed us to a great little street Rue Saint Dominique where we could access groceries, drinks and our favourite little restaurant - Le Bistrot 58 Rue Saint Dominique (phone number hidden)
Comfortable and warm and a true Parisian treat. NB: You would need to be relatively nimble to get into and out of the boat. Thanks Yoan
Living on Yoan's boat was really great!
The location was really central in Paris with 2 subway-stations very close. The boat is actually bigger than we had expected, very clean, and has everything you need. It even has a basic kitchen, a nice bathtub and bed that is quite big for a boat. Yoan was really nice in communication and always helped us when we had problem, for example with the Internet connection once.
When the weather is nice, you can even use the sun deck on the boat and have a barbecue!
However guests should consider: there are a lot of tourists around this area who look down from the bridge, and of course the boat shakes a bit, especially when other boats pass by. Also you cannot put any paper into the toilet, but into a trashcan. Also, you should be quite a bit physically agile to enter the boat, because you have to climb a little bit to get into the boat.
Living on a boat on the Seine river is still an experience we really enjoyed, and we would definitely return to this great location. Thanks a lot for letting us stay there! :)
Yoan was very prompt with communication and accommodating to our travel schedule. The houseboat was easy to find- tell the cab driver you're going to a boat under Pont Alexandre 3 on the Grande Palais side. You definitely can't beat the location. The boat is central to all the main sites. My only complaints are that the boat was sparsely decorated- no couch, nothing on the walls, not a lot of personality. There was a also a musty smell- probably normal for a boat, but it should have been aired out better before our arrival.
Superbe lieu en plein centre de Paris. Yoan, l'hôte est très accommodant et facilement joignable même si nous n'avons pu le rencontrer. Une expérience et perspective de Paris assez uniques.
It's a great location! A little small for 4 people, but perfect for 2 people. A unique experience for sure!
Definitely an totally unique and quite uncommon place, this boat.
- Nice and helpful host
- Perfect location (Grand Palais next door)
- nearly house-like way to live: good, small, but well-equipped kitchen, great bath, nice bedroom-cabin, additional sofa-bed in the multifunctional central room (part-time music-studio)
- great terrasse with a first row-view along river onto bridges and Invalides
- some things to be aware of, not negatively at all!:
-- still, it is a boat: a little shakey, but not problematic at all
-- not very private terrasse, people watching from boats, bridge, pier
-- we didn't have bad weather, so we can't say something about living on a boat diring rainy days.
But all together: it was really nice, uncomplicated, relaxing
And it's intesting, how fast one gets accustomed to the shakey floor, it's only strange as soon as you move on solid ground, since your senses continue to shake ...
