If you like the outdoors, specifically mountains, rivers, lakes, and waterfalls this may be for you. Located up I-5 in northern California, our place is just above the Upper Sacramento River, a fly fishing mecca. Beautiful hiking trails are in abundance here. Our house features all the ammenities of home, and we are foodies so our kitchen functions well.
Me and my husband with our 2 kids (13 months and 3.5 years) stayed here for a long weekend. It was a wonderful home away from home with a fully functional kitchen with everything you would need to cook. Since this was a spur of the moment trip, we were thankful that there were toys and books available for our son and that there was even a crib for our youngest.
The cabin is relatively small but larger than we had imagined and just right for a family with 2 bedrooms and an enormous backyard. You can hear the trains come through but we got used to it after the first night.
The cabin is located by the river and very close to the downtown Dunsmuir. It is a short drive from Mount Shasta and a trip to McClouds Falls is highly recommended.
I would recommend staying at this house for a nice mountain get away.
Nice, cozy mountain "cabin." It's a full functioning house and it sure does get warm and toasty when the heat is on! We cooked every day in the fabulous kitchen (love the real oak cabinets and vintage stove). Mount Shasta is absolutely gorgeous! If you're visiting in the fall, make sure to bring some sweaters/coats and dress in layers. We'll be back!
A comfy two bedroom, two bath, two story house just north of the Botanical Garden near the river. Great hosts leave you the key and you're good to go for two couples or a small family. All of Shasta is minutes away. We'll be back
