Great host! Great location!
Great apartment that made our stay in Florence even better we could have imagined. You're walking distance to everything. Has a host at the building (Roberto) who can't speak a lick of English but man he's cool and fun to chat with nonetheless! haha
The only reason we didn't give it a 5-star rating is due to the bed; it's two small mattresses making up the bed, thus there was a gap between them that one of us would keep falling into.
We had a small issue with the door lock but Guido took care of it within a matter of minutes. He's a great host, very prompt and communicative. Definitely recommend this place to anyone staying in Florence!
Thanks Guido and Roberto!
Guido is a very nice and efficient host. He always replies to our request by email before departure and booking. Mr Lombardi the neighbor in charge to give us the key is a little bite weird, he doesn't speak english but very kind and helpful.
The appartement is located in a convenient area, central in Firenze, although the city center is enough small to visit it by walk everywhere you are. The flat is truly as described in the annoucement, just 2 things to improve:
- the wifi is quite weak for internet, specially if you are 2 in same time to use it.
- we were a little bite cold inside the appartment because the electric heating system seems not working or we didn't understand how it worked.
Last word to advise you a restaurant in Firenze, it was the trattoria Nella, it's a very simple, cheap and tasty restaurant. I loved their pasta with truffle sauce and at the end of the dinner, we assist to a little improvised concert, really magical !!
Great place — a few 800 back and Michelangelo would've been your neighbor. Shops, bars and restaurants nearby, just as all major sights. And signore Lombardi is one of a kind. Enjoy.
Everything was nice: Apartment very close from the city center, and Guido was OK for our strange arrival schedules. Thanks a lot!
Emplacement très central à 2 minutes du Palazzo Vecchio. Santa Croce au bout de la (website hidden)ès bruyant la nuit.
Staying at Guido's apartment was great. There is a ton of room (larger than I expected), air conditioning, and even a washing machine. The location is fantastic, just a short walk down from the Duomo and two blocks from the Bargello Museum. The building next door to Guido's tower was the house Michelangelo grew up in. Though there is no English, picking up keys from Mr. Lombardi downstairs was a breeze. Depending on how much luggage you are carrying, the walk to the train station is easy - we each had a full backpack and a daypack. A great stay in a nice place.
The apt is lovely. The location is great. As someone wrote before "you can't beat the location!".. You will find yourself in the middle of everything. Only few yards away from S. Croche, very close to Ufizzi, Vecciho Palace and many other "must see"s in central Florence. We found a nice bakery next to S.Croche (it is on the left when you turn your face to the church). Nice decoration inside, nice food and drinks with reasonable prices.
I definitely recommend everyone to go to famous Venchi, the chocolate and ice-cream producer. They have a nice and small shop where you can buy various types of chocolate and ice-cream. "Pan cake with chocolate and hazelnut flavoured ice cream" is a must to taste.
Guido is a very kind person. He is very helpful and reliable. I can recommend this place to everyone without any doubt.
Thanks Guido. (And also please give our regards and thanks to Mr. Lombardini, too. Although we could not communicate properly becaues of the language barrier he was very kind and helpful. I hope we did not disturb him much :-)
Fantastic location and large apartment. Very noisy at night and wifi and tv reception patchy.
We had a really nice stay in Guido's apartment. The best feature of it is the location. Right in the middle of the centre. But the rooms are nice too, and the airconditioning might be useful in the summer (we didn't have to really use it). The only disadvantage of the apartment is that it can get a bit noisy during the nights. But a set of ear plugs will solve this. Further, I could say that the wifi might be a bit unstable and that you cannot watch tv (unless you prefer 2 italian channels).. but hey, you are in florence so go and explore the city! Thanks Guido!
This apartment is in an excellent location. The apartment is very spacious and homely. The bed is very comfortable. Guido and Mr Lombardi looked after us very well. We would highly recommend this apartment! If you are in Florence on a market day then we recommend heading to the market to pick up some tasty fresh pasta and pesto and cooking it at the apartment. Thanks very much Guido for an excellent stay and visit to Firenze.
