The location of this apartment was perfect. Very centrally located so all the sights are walking distance. We didn't pay for public transport at all while in Florence. Also, on the note of people commenting that it was noisy at night we couldn't tell whatsoever. Perhaps it was the light hum of the AC that drowned out the outside noise but it wasn't a problem. On that note AC in the bedroom was great. You really understand the value of it when you cook in the kitchen which doesn't have AC and you realize just how hot it can get. The washer was handy, and there is a great, massive rack in the bedroom to dry your clothes on. We did laundry and hung the clothes just before bed and everything was dry by morning so we barely missed having a dryer.
The apartment is even nicer in person in my opinion than in the pictures. Really authentic feel by having the cool stone wall. Roberto, the man who greeted us when we arrived was pleasant and said hi to us nearly everytime we passed his apartment coming in and out of the building. I believe it was mentioned in a prior review that there are some stairs, but be aware for those of limited mobility this may pose an issue.
Also met Guido once during our stay for the collection of the city tax so keep that in mind when visiting Florence. We didn't need to contact him for any assistance but he was sure to message us each day to confirm that everything was going smoothly.
The only downside I found with the apartment was the WiFi connection only reached the kitchen/dining area (not in the bedroom, which I remind you was the air conditioned portion of the apartment). I assume the router device is kept in another unit which really made it unpleasant if you needed internet. The signal was also likely shared with other tenants because it became awfully slow at times. I could have dealt with the slower connection if there was solid signal strength. Depending on what type of traveler you are this may not be an issue.
Overall nice place, great location. Recommended.
Guido was quick to respond to my communications and his neighbor Roberto on the first floor was nice letting me in from the street giving me the keys and showing me the inside trick in opening the locks. I am still confused about Guido's surprise visit one night asking for some kind of tax of 7 euros. He said this tax is mentioned in his airbnb description of the flat. I offered a 10 euro note but he didn't have change. I never left the 7 euros and he never asked for it again before or after I left, just this review. I think it is just his way to get more cash......it didn't feel right to me. I would think that if he needed another 7 euros just add it to the airbnb price?
Brad is very much mistaken! The city tax is a law and a duty to be performed in Florence !! as well as in New York, Paris, Berlin etc etc in almost any city in the world!
Here the resolution of the City Council of Florence:

It is also provided a 50% reduction of the tourist tax in the following cases:

Delighted that Brad has loved my apartment (he wrote to me: Location location location! You can walk to everything That You will want and need to see in Florence. It was 38 C / 100 degrees for you westerners and his air conditioner in the sleeping room saved me for sure! The flat is perfect for one to two people. Clean and organized!)
shame that when I went to the apartment at 7:15 pm he was not in top shape (maybe he was just back from a wine tour) and must not have understood what I was saying explained about tourism city tax.
The location of this apartment is perfect, and the host very accommodating. I was traveling alone and Guido provided assistance with taxis and other things I needed, which made my trip to Firenze effortless. Grazie mille, Guido!
Beautiful apartment with every need addressed to..Located at a prime location with easy access to all the places of interest. Though did not meet Guido in the whole trip but he was friendly in his communication
Guido's place was an excellent location! Quick walk to any of the big sites. We also walked from the train station in about 15-20 minutes. We had a bit of an issue with the WiFi, the signal wasn't great, and as other have said, it does get loud at night with people walking by, but overall it was a good experience.
Guido is a very considerate host, although we haven't met during the staying. He is always reachable and response very quickly. The apartment is clean and organised. You can find everything you need. Most importantly, the location is quite central. Everthing important place is whin working range.
Excellent location, located very close to many attractions. Apartment was spacious and air conditioning worked well. Wifi was very spotty in the unit.
