Nestled under sycamores and pines of a quiet neighborhood in the Heart of Sedona, Blackhawk’s Nest is a lovely 2 story cottage getaway on waterfront property. This home combines simplicity and elegance with its open-air design, adorned with original artwork, a graceful spiral staircase leading to a master bedroom and balcony overlooking a riparian woodland and views of Oak Creek. Relax to the sounds of flowing water, singing birds, cicadas, and wind through the pines.

The space
Blackhawk’s nest is a cozy 2 story home, 20 by 20 foot square ft upstairs and down for a total of 800 square feet.
Ideal as a couple’s getaway, it can nevertheless sleep 4 adults, with a master bedroom with king bed and a fold down chair(suitable for a child) a queen pull out couch in the living room and a couch that folds down in to a double bed on the landing.
Downstairs is an open air space with a fully equipped kitchen with settings for six and complimentary coffee. Living room with Smart TV(you will need to bring your own code for Netflix, Hulu etc) WiFi and AC
2 full bathrooms. Downstairs bathroom includes a washer dryer, and a bath.
Upstairs bathroom is in the master bedroom with full shower. 50" Flat screen Smart TV in master Bedroom and Living room.

Front deck is covered in shade cloths and fenced in for privacy, including a glass top dining table that seats 6, lounge furniture, and outdoor grill and lights.
Living room has a sliding glass doorway to a small back deck; beyond the porch is requested private family use only, unless additional parking is needed.

130 Blackhawk is a three residence 1 acre property with a curving cement entryway for family use, a private parking below has space for two vehicles, and private pathway through a green wooded arroyo to the water, which boasts a shaded swimming hole. No fishing is allowed in the swimming area, but there are fishing holes upstream and downstream to explore. There is overflow parking available in emergency's.

Wildlife - The arroyos and dry gullies of Sedona are natural wildlife corridors and you may see a startling variety of wildlife from your windows, squirrels, lizards, raccoons, otter, beaver, skunks, coyotes, mule deer, javelina even the occasional bobcat, lynx or cougar pass through.
Blackhawk’s nest is a bird lover’s delight, the famous Blackhawk nests high in the sycamore trees along the banks, Bald Eagles migrate north and south over the water, and the Great Blue Heron poses statuesque on the rocks. Owls, ducks, swallows cardinals and kingfishers, hummingbirds and the ever cheerful robin sing along the water’s edge.

Native Dangers: black widows, brown recluse, rattlesnakes, coral snakes, and scorpions are all native to this area though rarely seen near the water. Poison Ivy on the other hand is quite common near the water, be sure you know what it looks like before you hike along the creek.

Temperature averages 5-10 degrees cooler than most of Sedona, with cool breezes off the stream.

Neighborhood highlights

Blackhawk lane is a short private one lane road off of Brewer road, which is part of the heart of Sedona, one of the oldest and quietest residential neighborhoods , with several historic buildings such as the famous Sedona Schnebly cabin, and the original Ranger station within walking distance. Approximately one mile in length many enjoy walking the quiet street in the morning or dusk, but be aware there is no sidewalk so you need to be alert to vehicles.
Wesleyan Church just 1/4 mile up the hill and across from the trailhead(brewer trail) to the Airport Mesa vortex hike. This invigorating challenge is short but moderately steep 1.5 mile hike with 375 ft elevation gain, and some of the most breathtaking panoramic views of Sedona. A popular destination for Sunset viewing, hiking, even biking is permitted on this trail for advanced mountain bicyclists.
1 mile way is Tlaquepaque, famous for it’s Spanish colonial architecture, courtyards, fountains, fine arts, fine dining, exquisite gifts, Venue for community celebrations and numerous cultural events.
