About this listing

Come stay at our comfy house on the edge of the picturesque village of Newbury, Vermont. We're surrounded by hundreds of acres of woods and extensive flower gardens. You'll have the first floor pretty much to yourselves. We put out a breakfast of home-made jam and bread, yogurt, granola and fruit.

The space

Our queen guest room is off the mudroom away from the rest of the house. It looks out into the woods and back garden. It's very quiet and secluded. We built the house 30 years ago and the house and gardens have been our hobby ever since. We love sharing it all with others.

Guest access

Guests have the downstairs living room all to themselves. And a private full bath.

Interaction with guests

We will be around in the kitchen and porch and will chat as much as you can stand. But, we do retreat to our upstairs lounge by about 7 - to read or to watch TV.

Other things to note

600 ct. Egyptian Cotton Sheets - dried in pure Vermont fresh air! Good bedpost reading lamps! We don't accept dogs anymore, sorry.

A great airbnb experience! The place is charming and spotless, and it has lots of small personal touches that make all the difference. Louise and Marv were great hosts and had great tips for walking and driving in the area. The location is super quiet but not too remote, so it can be easily reached. The only regret is that we only could stay for one night.

Louise's BnB is a place we can absolutely recommend! She and Marc are so nice and friendly hosts. The place is also absolutely nice and you can start a lot of interesting tours from here, e. g. to the White Mountains. Vermont is worth coming there, and Newbury which is a beautiful little town. Thanks a lot!

We were immediately welcomed by Marv and Louise and felt comfortable at once. The room and bathroom were nice and private and the yard and view and drive to get there were so beautiful we wanted to stay longer. Louise set out some very delicious homemade granola and bread with her homemade jam for breakfast. It was perfect. Louise shared maps and great directions for places to see. It was so helpful. We had an absolutely wonderful time. Newbury was our first stop and ended up being one of our favorite stops.

Louise and Marv were very welcoming and accommodating. Their home and property are spacious and beautifully arranged. Newbury, and the surrounding area, offer a lot to see and do as well. We definitely wish we had stayed longer than one night.

Her husband welcomed us in person and gave us a tour. Communication was very clear. They are very kind and above-and-beyond generous hosts!

Inviting space, friendly host, and tasty breakfast offerings. Great option for visits and pick up from Camp Farwell!

My husband and I are both 61. He works at the local bank and I work part-time for a local classified paper, and sew slip-covers. We've lived in Vermont for almost 40 years and love it here. I like to take walks with my dog Raney, swim, garden, read, sew and do house projects. My husband is a fan of fishing, kayaking, tennis, golf, gardening and community work. We now have our own little condo in Portland, Oregon where our only son lives with his wife and their new baby. It is available for stays of 30 days or more.
