Our home is right above the apartment. We are early-to-bed and early-to-rise people, and ask that guests refrain from loud talking, music, etc, after 10 pm. (There is no garbage service, but the dump and recycling center are less than 5 miles away.) Check with us before inviting guests to visit--parking is limited. No smoking. No animals. (Ours know they are not allowed in the apartment.)
This is a lovely place and Pasha and Rob are truly lovely people. I really enjoyed being up in the cool hills surrounded by avocado, mango and coffee trees. The apartment is spacious, clean and very comfortable and I was happy to be greeted by a large fruit basket and enough breakfast food in the cupboards and fridge so that I didn't need to head out to look for food in the morning. Pasha and Rob are interesting and very kind people and they made me feel very much at home. I recommend this place highly!
Priscilla was a very gracious host. My flight into Kona arrived late in the evening and she stocked the apartment with fruit, bread, milk etc. so that I did not need to go shopping on arrival. The kitchen was well equipped with everything I needed to cater for myself. The apartment is just 15 min drive up the hill from Kona. I had a wonderful stay.
The Garden Apartment was exactly as describe and we had a wonderful time staying there. There was everything we needed within the apartment and it was set in a beautiful location.
Priscilla was a lovely host and provided all sorts of additional treats to make our visit enjoyable. These included a host of varied fruit, yogurts, milk, bread and other foodstuff, which was of great assistance as we arrived quite late.
We would recommend this lovely home to anyone.
My boyfriend and I enjoyed our stay at Priscilla’s. The apartment was well equipped, quiet, and the surrounding garden was very beautiful. The property was very comfortable, well situated on the cool mountain side, and we enjoyed the great view it offered. Priscilla welcomed us with a bowl of fresh fruits and eggs from her chickens. We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend, or stay at her property again!
My husband and I were thrilled with our stay here - we cannot adequately express how wonderful our experience was. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, and I especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and linen closet. There was even an ice pack in the freezer that we could use to pack picnic lunches for our long hikes and trips to the beach. The property is beautiful, quiet (even though it's next to a highway!), and surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers and fruit trees bearing delicious treats. Beautiful views of sunsets and of the ocean in the distance. Our hosts, Pasha and Rob, were our favorite aspect of our stay. They were so kind and welcoming. We are grateful for their kindness, warm generosity, and friendship. We hope to return to the Big Island again, and we know where we'll be staying when we return!
My travel companion and I were both thrilled with our accommodations. Our travel plans had changed and we needed to find somewhere last-minute. We were both happy that's what happened.
Priscilla and Rob were were friendly and interesting when we'd see them. They left us a bowl of fruits grown there as well as eggs from their chickens and a few other basics. It felt really welcoming. The road below the house is used by many neighbors as a walking path, it was perfect for a morning jog or sunset walk. I'd stay there again and recommend it to friends visiting the Big Island.
Very good location if you visit west coast in Big Island. Wonderful place to stay with a nice sunset view - indeed, our best airbnb experience in hawaii.
The appartment was very well equiped. Nothing was missing.
Priscilla and Rob were so kind, very welcoming. They left us many fresh fruits (most from their garden). Mahalo!
About the Host, Priscilla
I am a recently retired teacher. For nearly 30 years, I taught foreign languages to middle school students. My husband Rob is a retired gardener. We have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. Unfortunately they live on the mainland. I enjoy traveling, especially to places where I can practice my French or Russian. Rob and I both enjoy plants, animals and books.
