Our home is right above the apartment. We are early-to-bed and early-to-rise people, and ask that guests refrain from loud talking, music, etc, after 10 pm. Washer and dryer can be used during the day, but last load should be finished by 8:30pm. If you are staying more than a week, we ask that you be responsible for removing your own trash. (There is no garbage service, but the dump and recycling center are less than 5 miles away.) Check with us before inviting guests to visit--parking is limited. No smoking. No animals. (Ours know they are not allowed in the apartment.)
My husband and I were thrilled with our stay here - we cannot adequately express how wonderful our experience was. The apartment itself was clean and comfortable, and I especially appreciated the well-stocked kitchen and linen closet. There was even an ice pack in the freezer that we could use to pack picnic lunches for our long hikes and trips to the beach. The property is beautiful, quiet (even though it's next to a highway!), and surrounded by sweet-smelling flowers and fruit trees bearing delicious treats. Beautiful views of sunsets and of the ocean in the distance. Our hosts, Pasha and Rob, were our favorite aspect of our stay. They were so kind and welcoming. We are grateful for their kindness, warm generosity, and friendship. We hope to return to the Big Island again, and we know where we'll be staying when we return!
My travel companion and I were both thrilled with our accommodations. Our travel plans had changed and we needed to find somewhere last-minute. We were both happy that's what happened.
Priscilla and Rob were were friendly and interesting when we'd see them. They left us a bowl of fruits grown there as well as eggs from their chickens and a few other basics. It felt really welcoming. The road below the house is used by many neighbors as a walking path, it was perfect for a morning jog or sunset walk. I'd stay there again and recommend it to friends visiting the Big Island.
Very good location if you visit west coast in Big Island. Wonderful place to stay with a nice sunset view - indeed, our best airbnb experience in hawaii.
The appartment was very well equiped. Nothing was missing.
Priscilla and Rob were so kind, very welcoming. They left us many fresh fruits (most from their garden). Mahalo!
A true family stay! Pasha and Rob turned out to be such tactful, affectionate and comfy people, we could hardly believe we stayed as airbnb guests. This is not business for them- they really enjoy having guests. They went out of their way to make us feel at home - in their cozy Hawaiian home with fantastic atmosphere. The location is great, let alone a perfect view of the ocean.
If the house is available for your dates - do not hesitate but book immediately - highly recommend!
Mahalo Pasha and Rob!
Priscilla and Rob we welcoming, warm and helpful. The apartment was such a delight with a great view and lovely gardens. Fresh fruit and a avocado tree were fun! The neighborhood was quiet and restful. definitely would stay again!
We enjoyed our stay at Priscilla's house very much. Priscilla and her husband were helpful but respectful of our privacy. The apartment was very comfortable and pleasant. The kitchen had the supplies we needed cook some simple dishes so that worked out well. The view to the west was beautiful. We would definitely consider returning next time we visit the big island.
We were made to feel totally at home and our hosts were warm and extremely accommodating. The apartment was perfect for us to explore the local area and especially the wonderful beaches and historical landmarks such as the petroglyphs.
I am a recently retired teacher. For nearly 30 years, I taught foreign languages to middle school students. My husband Rob is a retired gardener. We have two grown daughters and three grandchildren. Unfortunately they live on the mainland. I enjoy traveling, especially to places where I can practice my French or Russian. Rob and I both enjoy plants, animals and books.
