What a fantastic experience! My friend and I were in town for a medical procedure at OHSU and Luisa's studio couldnt have been more perfect! The space was clean and quiet, and honestly-just the relaxing environment we needed. Right next to the hospital, we were able to get there on time, and not have to worry about traffic and parking. The booking was smooth and the place easy to find. When we arrived an entry code allowed us to seamlessly get inside at a convenient time for us. There was a parking pass available for us to use, as well as internet and TV. This was really helpful for me while I had to wait long hours for my friends surgery. This really is an amazing gem for the Portland OHSU. So much better then some impersonal hotel, and so reasonably priced! Luisa herself, was incredibly accommodating! I went out on a limb contacting her for a last minute reservation and she not only was happy to make it work, but went above and beyond our expectations to make it possible, as well as working with our late checkout. This place is top of my list every time I come to Portland. Thanks Luisa!!!
Nice remodel and close to downtown if you rent a car. Great bargain for the price which included parking passes for us- which is important. There was a small ant problem but the owner seemed attentive and concerned about addressing any issues. I would stay again. Probably not for the super sensitive due to possible mold smell, although with the rain in Portland I am sure there is mold everywhere!
The location and updates to this studio duplex were quite nice! Luisa was a great hostess.
Perfect sized studio (larger than it appears in pics) for 1 or 2 people wanting to stay on the hill. Less than 5 min walk to OHSU makes it great for visiting students or residents. The studio had everything I needed and Luisa was helpful in getting a parking permit for the week I had a car. Bus line is close and downtown is easily accessible by bus but for farther trips a car might be preferable if you are working and don't gave a lot of time to spend traveling on public transport. There is a zipcar a few blocks away on the other side of the nursing school. Only downside is lack of a nearby laundromat (the one I went to was about 30 min bus ride away) but at the bottom of the hill (5 min bus ride) is a dry cleaners who can also launder clothes for you and will even pick up your clothes if you schedule ahead. There is a convenience store and Thai place (not very good) 5 min walk away but I'd suggest catching the sky tram at OHSU down to south waterfront for better dining options that are nearby.
I didn't get to meet Luisa, but my stay was great. This place is in a quiet location next to OHSU. It's close to a bus that takes you downtown, views of the city, running/ walking trails. You can even take the aerial tram back from the city. Luisa was very helpful if we needed anything.
The Studio was snug but that was fine since we were rarely in - too many things to see and do in Portland.
The mattress was extremely comfortable! Probably why it was so hard to get out of bed in the morning. Even though we were awakened bright and early by the traffic noise. And the Greek house (not sure if it was a frat or sorority) next door kept us up late one night with a rowdy party.
But those were fairly minor annoyances, to be expected in an urban area.
Public transit was easily accessible which was a good thing because Pill Hill has a dearth of retail/dining establishments or anything else.
Luisa was a great host and left everything I'd need ready for me in the apartment. Very seamless stay, and very responsive. Would definitely recommend staying here if you plan to visit Portland. Thanks!!.
Perfect for two wanting to get a chance to see the city. Public transportation was only a short short walk away and ran into the late night. Not too much for dining really close, but with use of the busline there were no problems to get anywhere. I would definitely recommend the place to anyone who was asking.
The studio is exactly as seen on the posted photos. additionally, Luisa provided a few essential items that I know I usually forget at home. So that was nice. The location is close to Downtown and quite quiet. Luisa was also readily available via telephone which was very helpful. would stay again and definitely recommend to other.
My partner and I stayed in Luisa's studio for nine days. We thoroughly enjoyed the peace and quiet afforded by the location and found the studio itself to be ample in size, comfortable, and well equipped. The number 8 bus took us downtown and to the Alberta District with ease, while the aerial tram offered a fun ride down to the waterfront. All in all, a very good experience.
