Yelki by the Sea
Whether looking for a romantic getaway or simply time out to unwind, Yelki will be sure to weave its magic. This historic heritage (1835) beach front cottage seamlessly blends old and new to offer wonderfully comfortable accommodation for your exclusive use.
The cosy armchairs, wooden floors, rugs and fireplace will envelope you in their warmth, while you take in the view and ponder on thoughts of the day or lose yourself in a good book. Or sit on the veranda or lawn under the pepper tree, with a glass of wine, as you enjoy the magnificent ocean vista of Wright Island and The Bluff. The sitting room offers wide screen TV, DVD, Stereo, CD, and WiFi facilities.
You may cook in the charming very well equipped kitchen and then enjoy the meal in the breakfast room overlooking the back garden with its lovely profusion of plants, flowers and birds.
We offer self-catered or bed and breakfast accommodation (breakfast provisions provided - you prepare yourselves in your kitchen). The bed and breakfast option is an additional $30 per night per couple with a 2 night minimum/maximum. Where possible we source local Farmers Market produce.
With the sound and smell of the ocean and two comfortable bedrooms your sleep is sure to be deep and restful. The cottage is completed with a sparkling modern bathroom.
Quality linen is supplied, as are bathrobes and a decent hairdryer.
Just a few steps to the beach or pathway leading to The Bluff and on using the Heysen Trail past Petrel Cove, Kings Beach and Waitpinga cliffs; or hire a bike and follow the pathway into the town centre or along the coast to Port Elliot; further still to Goolwa and the Murray Mouth. Flagging enthusiasm could mean putting yourselves and your bikes on the Cockle train for the return trip.
Yelki by the Sea is well located, as just a short amble along the beachfront will find you at The Beach House Cafe, to enjoy delicious gourmet pizza, curry, or fish and chips, or go to the ever popular Yilki Store, where they essentially manage to offer the rest.
We have prepared the cottage carefully for your stay and know you will respect it and leave it in the same manner.
What a wonderful place to spend a week or two. Clean with all the comforts of home (and more). Each room is full of character and the history of the 'inn' is easy to see and feel. Location, location, location; the area is quiet with direct sight and access to the sea across the road. The front verandah is great for reading or quiet contemplation and the rear, sunny lawn and garden are sheltered and a great space for dosing up on Vitamin D whilst listening to the bird life and paying Cadbury, the resident moggie, due respect. Thx to Sue and John. They are welcoming hosts whose extra 'little touches of hospitality' make Yelki a special, relaxing and memorable destination.
We opened in January 2013 and according to our many guests thus far this is a magical place and I am a great host who is very friendly and helpful.
They have been most impressed with my attention to detail in the cottage. I know what I would want if staying in a beautiful cottage of this nature on the beach and so work hard to provide it for our guests.
Cheers ... Sue
