My family was visiting the States for the first time and spent their time at the Coughlins. In truth, I couldn't have asked for a better place. Everyone in the house was so warm and welcoming. I enjoyed the conversations and occasional barbecues. Nanaan was also very knowledgeable about the local offerings both within the area and Boston. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone looking to feel at home away from home.
My stay was superb! The location was such that I could get to the heart of Boston with a rather quick ride of public transportation. And if you need help learning the T-system or the bus Nanan is more than willing to show you how to get around. They were very pleasant people with a warm home and great tenants. Thanks so much guys!
Had a great stay at Nanan's! We only got to meet Chris but he was super friendly and helpful. Quiet neighborhood and their home had a very homey feel to it. We had no problem getting around considering the bus stop was down the block. Would definitely stay again if I go back to Boston (:
Host was extremely hospitable and very thoughtful! They accommodated my large family who was in town for my graduation. I'd highly recommend them!
This place was the best thing that happened to me in my first month in Boston.
The house is very well kept, very clean and in great shape. The common areas are comfortable and spacy and I had never difficulties in sharing the bath rooms or kitchen. I stayed in the smallest of the rooms (Fenway), which is small indeed but beautiful and cosy and has a lot of light and sun (that's why it is quite hot in summer, but absolutely nice in spring).
The neighborhood is quiet (compared to other Boston areas) and nice. The location is a bit offside though in case you have to get to Harvard Sq. It's perfect on a bike in summer (15-20 min. to Harvard, on foot ca. 40 min.). In winter or rain you would have to take a bus to the T (maybe also 35-40 min. till Harvard).
Nanan and Chris are adorable and the best hosts I've ever had. They really care for you, provide a warm and homely atmosphere and I always enjoyed chatting with them. There are monthly community dinners, which are great fun, and you can join the outings (if you want) they organize to nice local sights (e.g. Maple Syrup Festival in NH). The other tenants are mainly international graduates or professionals, so you get to learn much not only on the US but also on other countries.
In sum: This place is perfect if you are new to the US and need a comfortable, well kept home for a couple of weeks, month or a year and like to feel like a family. But even for locals or short term visitors, this place is great.
Nanan and Chris are amazing hosts! I've spent half a year at their house, it felt like at home there: we had dinners, trips and if anything happened, Nanan and Chris were very helpful. Thank you for this!
The house is beautiful itself - it's spacious and clean and has everything necessary for living =)
The location was convenient for me, but it is a little bit away from Boston or Harvard, as well as from supermarkets. Except for that the place is wonderful.
