Beautiful 1886 Victorian house is 2 blocks from the heart of Park Ave, yet so quiet in the mornings you can hear church bells and birds. Walk to restaurants, cafes, East Ave Historic District, George Eastman House/Dryden Theatre, Zen Center.
Sleep comfortably in my private guest room with very firm, super comfortable double bed on the second floor. Shared good-sized bathroom with nice tub on same floor, usually just with host. Two blocks from Park Avenue restaurants, cafes, bakery; near George Eastman House photography museum (6 blocks), Zen Center (3/4 mile), Memorial Art Gallery (1 mile), Eastman School of Music (1.5 miles). Great location for Jazz Festival, city festivals, college graduations, golf. I've lived here 11 years and have redecorated and upgraded the house--new windows, refinished oak floors, etc.

Guests have access to the kitchen, living rooms, laundry, wifi, back yard with grill, parking, and my affectionate basset hound, bicycle to borrow for free.
I often work at home so I'm around quite a bit but go out in the mornings with my dog. If I am at home and have time I like to welcome guests with a cup of tea or glass of wine, but it varies quite a bit!
Beautiful historic neighborhood with lots of trees, interesting architecture, friendly neighbors walking dogs, close to Park Ave with lots of cafes, restaurants, small stores. Great for walking around and looking at architecture.

Staying with Mary Jane in Rochester, NY made my entire visit a total pleasure. There is nothing better than going home to a warm and welcoming place after a long day. Mary Jane's home is beautiful and comfortable at the same time. She is delightful, intelligent and has a wonderful sense of humor. What more could anyone need?
Great location for the Eastman House. Lots of bars and restaurants, easy access and great host. When I come back I will look to stay again with Mary.
I arrived into a strangers house and left feeling like family. Mary Jane's location is only six blocks to George Eastman House and just around the corner from a number of good restaurants. Rumpole is a delightful dog, and Mary Jane an extremely caring and welcoming host. The bed is very comfortable and in a home with a good balance of private and social time. I highly recommend MJ's abode.
Mary Jane (and her dog Rumpole!) were fantastic and friendly hosts. This was my first airbnb experience and it was extremely positive. I definitely plan to rent a room from Mary Jane in the future. Great location, easy parking, clean room and bathroom, unbelievably comfortable bed. Don't pass up this excellent rental!
A great spot in the city. It was very close to bunch of restaurants in Park Ave. It was snowy in Rochester and I felt like I was trapped in a little town that has everything I needed; great restaurants, bakery, candy house and cafés.
The bedroom was nicely decorated. It has a country feel to it. The pillows and the blanket was very soft.
I also really liked the desk and the chair where my husband spent a lot of time studying.
The bathroom was clean and big. Eventhough we didn’t spend much time in the living room, it was nicely decorated, filled with light, with arts hanging on the walls. Finding coffee and tea whenever we wanted was great. I felt at home during my stay.
Mary was very accomodating. She made us tea when we arrived in a cold snowy night which meant a lot.
The dog can never be better. The quitest and the cutest dog ever. Even if you don’t particularly enjoy dogs, you might love him.
IMJ and her dog, Rumpole, were wonderful hosts during our stay. My husband, our two dogs and I felt very much at home in MJ's lovely 19th century house. Her home's close location to Park Avenue and other noteworthy sites throughout Rochester allowed us to comfortably walk to wherever we wanted to go. MJ allowed us to use her fenced in backyard for our two large dogs (and our dogs sure had a great time playing with Rumpole!) We were exceptionally pleased with our stay in MJ's guest bedroom with its comfortable bed and useful Rochester literature to browse through. If we ever return to Rochester, we plan on staying at MJ's place again!
Beautiful room, cozy home. For business travelers, be aware the WiFi was slow for me, but I believe the host is working on that.
Mary Jane's home is located in a lovely neighborhood that is close to some of Rochester's best attractions. There are some nice restaurants in the area, and a good little bakery nearby. Interactions with her are friendly and directions are clear. The home is clean and comfortable. It is easy to find. I have stayed with her before, and I hope to again!
Mary Jane is a fantastic host. Firstly, the house and room are all beautiful and very clean. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Mary Jane is very kind, generous, supportive, welcoming, and so much more. We communicated and coordinated very well together. The experience was easy and fluid. I stayed here during an intense yoga training, and her generosity just blew me away. Stay here. Even if you're not in Rochester, well, just come to Rochester anyway to have the experience of being here with Mary Jane.
REALLY a great location! Lovely, quiet neighborhood, perfect for for walking to restaurants, shopping, museums. Mary Jane was a very kind host, and Rumpole the dog is a sweetie, and got along well with my dog. The house is beautifully appointed, full of original art, antiques, and well-chosen furniture and artifacts. Bed and bedroom very comfortable. In short, I loved everything about it and hope to be back soon!
