Share the good-sized bathroom with tub/shower on same floor; another bathroom with shower is downstairs. Great location for Jazz Festival, city festivals, college graduations, golf. I've lived here 11 years and have redecorated and upgraded the house--new windows, refinished oak floors, etc.--but it's not fussy--dogs and kids welcome.

Interaction with Guests
If I am at home and have time I like to welcome guests with a cup of tea or glass of wine. I often work at home so I'm around quite a bit but go out in the early mornings with my dog. If I am upstairs in my office, I am working, but I keep my door open in case you have a quick question.
Beautiful historic neighborhood with lots of trees, old houses, interesting architecture, friendly neighbors walking dogs, close to Park Ave with lots of cafes, restaurants, small stores, 7-Eleven, CVS, dry cleaner. Great for walking around and looking at architecture.
U of Rochester shuttle buses during the semester free for students/staff, the RGRTA bus #1 downtown, buses 18/19 to UR are not too far away. Bike for loan. Parking in my driveway included.

Had a great stay in Rochester. Very informative and helpful. Clean, comfortable and a great sleep. Won't hesitate to book here again.
Ms. Curry was an extremely nice host who took time out of her day to drive me where I needed to be. Very thoughtful. Great coffee too!
MJ's place is very cozy. The day we arrived, it was freezing in her place because the furnace was not working. Within no time she had someone in to fix it and it was nice and cozy warm for the rest of the time. The bed was super comfy and dreamy - could have stayed curled up there all day. We brought food and shared the fridge and the kitchen. MJ's great. Her dog's great. I would stay there again in a heart beat. Bring slippers, if staying there in the winter!
This was my first experience with airbnb. Mary Jane hosted me and my two sons (ages 17 and 10) during the holiday period (christmas and new year's). It was wonderful! Mary Jane is a lovely host (fresh coffee available every morning :-) ) and her home is lovely - comfortable, warm and inviting. She made me and my boys feel right at home and her dog Rumpole is very sweet and loving. We could come and go at any time and could even park our car in her driveway. The beds were very comfortable and the listing description was accurate. Her home is located in a terrific beautiful and quiet location in Rochester - walking distance to lots of cute restaurants, practical stores, museums and still easy access to main highways.
Everything about our stay at Mary Jane's was wonderful...and flawless. She welcomed us into her home with a tour and a brief intro about the house rules; we were able to come and go as we please and even park in her driveway. Everything was just so convenient and comfortable during our stay.
We will definitely visit Rochester again, including Mary Jane's (she's a lovely lady!).
For our visit, she gave us dinner recommendations (there are plenty of options for dining and drinking within walking distance), but we ended up going to Lento, which is a great place for cocktails and local fare. She also suggested a coffee shop/bakery within walking distance--definitely hit those up (there are three within walking distance) if you visit--and she had coffee ready for us, too, when we woke up. The location is perfect for visiting the George Eastman House and for getting on the highway and downtown.
Oh, and most importantly: amazing bed, and even better down feather comforter. We had the best sleep EVER. I mean EVER.
We had a wonderful weekend staying with MJ and her lovely dog. The listing was just as described with an excellent location near Park Ave, a large room with a comfortable bed, and on site parking. I would definitely recommend staying here for locals and out of towners.
This was my first Airbnb experience, and it was terrific. Perfect location - one block from several good restaurants and interesting shops on Park and museums in the arts district so lots of opportunities for walking around, even in the cold weather. Mary Jane was a delightful host - made me feel welcome right away. The bedroom is very comfortable and the (shared) bathroom is spacious and clean. I would definitely stay here again.

I am very sociable but I keep early hours--usually up by 6:30 and in bed by 10:30. As a college professor, I work at home a lot, especially in the summer, and I do a lot of cooking and stuff around the house and garden. I have a comfortable house and want guests to feel at home here, while respecting the fact that I work at home. I am an animal lover, especially dogs! There are often visiting dogs and the occasional other pet here (not cats), and friends come and go regularly. I have traveled to many parts of the world and lived in Costa Rica, Germany, France, and the UK. As a film and music buff, living in Rochester is heaven--never a shortage of movies to see.
I like guests to feel at home. I will give you space in the fridge and kitchen to store your food and if you want to cook, we can usually arrange time and space for you to do that. I have a very well equipped and big farm-style kitchen to cook and eat in. The back garden is lovely to sit in and the wireless extends there too.
