This charming apartment is located in a quaint corner of
Berlin's Neukoelln district, a multicultural area of Berlin with numerous beautiful period buildings and long, tree lined, cobblestone streets. It also boasts several beautiful parks, such as the Koernerpark, Hasenheide or the former Tempelhof airport, now transformed (email hidden) space. In addition, you will find plenty of restaurants, eateries, kebab shops, cafes and bars in that area that keeps changing and has, in the recent past, attracted many artists and students for whom other Berlin areas were becoming too "established". Many now see Neukoelln as the new Kreuzberg, the funky and muticultural neighbouring district.
The apartment is easy to reach - just a 30 minute train ride from Schoenefeld aiport to Hermannstrasse and a few minutes walk from there, or a bus and train ride (c. 45 minutes in total) from Tegel airport. The circle line is 5 minutes walk away, and there is also a direct subway link (c. 15 minutes) to Alexanderplatz and the main rail station (Hauptbahnof) can also be reached within 30 minutes.
The apartment was fully renovated in 2010 and is located in a quiet street in a period building, which was renovated from the outside in 2012. It is on the 1st floor (the building has no elevator) and has high ceilings, elegant wooden flooring and a small balcony. The two large bedrooms have a queen size bed (160 x 200cm) each with a comfortable mattress. There is also an additional single mattress for an extra person. The kitchen has a dining area as well as state-of-the art appliances. The bathroom has both a shower cabinet and a separate bathroom as well as a washer dryer. Wi-fi is available and included in the price.
Finally, we will also welcome our guests with a small something - a bottle of wine or prosecco or a box of chocolate. We will also be happy to answer all your questions on the city, and look forward to being your hosts in Berlin!

We had a great stay at Stephan's place. We were met by Will at the flat, who was very understanding about us arriving a little later than planned. The flat is very clean, bright and spacious, and a great base for exploring the city. We had the luxury of having our car with us, but there are plenty of public transport options within a short walking distance. All in all, it was a fantastic airbnb experience, and we would definitely stay at Stephan's place again.
Stephan was an excellent host - communicated well both before and during our stay. The apartment was unbelievably beautiful, we really enjoyed coming home from busy days in Berlin to this place, it was relaxing and refreshing. Would highly recommend this space to anyone going to Berlin.
Great appartement! Great location!
We stayed there with 2 little children and it was perfect. The appartement is well equiped.
We will return and we highly recommend that place.
Stephan's apartment is one of the best we have experienced. It had everything we needed including cable TV with English speaking channels. The apartment is spacious and clean with a modern kitchen and bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the wifi internet worked well. Stephan's friend Will met us and answered all our questions. We were happy with the location and the availability of public transport. Stephan answered all our queries promptly and gave us a gift of chocolate and wine which were very much appreciated. We highly recommend this apartment and would like to stay again if we ever return to Berlin.
Thanks so much for your very kind and helpful review, David! It was a real pleasure to be your hosts and to look after you, and we are glad that you had a good stay! Nice to hear also that you appreciated the cable TV we just installed. Please come back to visit us again soon. Thanks again.
This was the best airbnb experience that I have ever had!!! The apartment was super clean and close to the metro. It was very spacious as well; I stayed with three of my friends and we were all very comfortable. Stephan was an amazing host, and I will definitely stay in this apartment the next time I am in Berlin!!!
Thanks so much Anna for your great and very kind feedback. Thanks also again to you and your friends for choosing my apartment for your stay, I am glad to hear you enjoyed it so much, and it would be a real pleasure to welcome you back anytime. We did enjoy being your hosts. Thanks again.
Very large, comfortable and good planning apartments for group of 4 persons.
Will is very hospitable man.
There are a lot of parks near the flat, but it is not central area of Berlin.
Thanks for your kind feedback Mikhail, and thanks again for staying at my apartment. It was a pleasure to be your hosts. As you will have noticed, Berlin is a huge city, so it always depends what you call the centre! Once the U8 reopens (around September 2014), the stop at Leinestrasse, which is 5 minutes walk away from the apartment, will allow you to reach Alexanderplatz in about 10 minutes. Also, the fact that the apartment is also just 6-7 minutes walk away from the S-Bahn station Hermannstrasse should allow you to reach any place on the circle line within 20 minutes or less. We are glad though that you did enjoy the Neukoelln area and its parks! Please do come back to visit us again soon.
We (my husband and I) enjoyed Stephan's spacious and clean flat and I would recommend it for a couple(s), and/or a couple of solo travellers. The flat includes 2 large bedrooms each with its own double bed, 1 large bathroom with separate bathtub and shower stall, and a bright, sunny kitchen with dining table and chairs. Stephan was so gracious to have welcomed us with a bottle of Prosecco.
Master Bedroom: The bed was very comfortable and I liked how the bedroom included a rack with hangars to hang your clothes. There was also an umbrella, which came in handy when we had 1 day of unexpected rain.
Bathroom: The bathroom had a little soap and shampoo, which was helpful for travellers, and has a washer/dryer machine (but we didn't use it).
Kitchen: The kitchen is a bright space and included a little tea and coffee. There's a small family grocers and an Aldi just down the street to pick up any extras you may need.
Wi-fi: Good internet.
Stephen was very responsive and friendly throughout the booking process.
We were greeted by Stephan's friend, Will. Will was very friendly and informative. I had trouble accessing my phone's data services and was so thankful that Will texted me directions on how to get to the flat. Thanks Will!
The neighborhood is in the process of gentrifying. I felt comfortable when I was walking around the area with my partner. The flat is a short 5-10 mins walk to Hermannstraße S-bahn station, which made it easy to get around the city.
Thank you Stephan for the warm hospitality!
Thanks so much Angie for your exhaustive and really helpful review, which I really appreciate. It was a pleasure to be your hosts. We are glad that you enjoyed the apartment and the area, which is clearly the most up-and coming area of Berlin currently, We very much hope to welcome you back very soon. Thanks again.
We had a wonderful stay in Stephan's apartment. It was located 30 min from downtown by public transport, in a booming but still quiet neighbourhood. We were greeted nicely by Stephan's friend Will. The check-in/check out process was nice and smooth. The apartment itself was very clean and had everything we needed. We would definitely go back again! Highly recommended.
