The apartment was a very good place to stay in, everthing was clean and the bedrooms were comfortable. During winter, it can get a little bit cold at nights but there were enough blankets to use.
The area was ok, but at nights we felt a little bit unsafe at the Green Line train station nearby; fortunately we had no bad experiences.
This was my first time on Airbnb and I could say that Nora and Gonzalo were great hosts, we had no problems at all.
The apt was very clean. There were a lot of towels that I can even use as blankets. The heat was a bit off at the first day but Nora and Gonzalo get it fixed quickly.
tout s'est passé comme prévu. L'appartement était conforme à la description dans un environnement plutôt calme.
Petits bémols, un chauffage assez bruyant et le quartier n'est pas beaucoup desservi par les taxis.
We spent 3 nights with my family (3 adults and 2 small children) in Nora's place. This was our first time in Chicago and on airbnb, both are very positive. The apartment with the 3 separate bedrooms was super for our needs. The neighborhood was "unfriendly" for the first sight and a bit noisy but we had no negative exprerience. We could park free on the street and took the bus to the center, which is a quite long but very interesting journey. The communication with Nora and Gonzalo was great!
This apartment is definitely a crash pad - the basics are covered but there isn't much more than that. If you are stressed out by being in a poorer, rougher around the edges neighbourhood this probably isn't for you. That being said, we felt safe in the apartment.
If you are a light sleeper, bring ear plugs - we were woken up a few times by shouts, cars, and loud music outside.
It would have been nice to have been greeted by a host or to have met them, but Nora was always quick with responding to emails and answering our questions.
We used our car most of the trip but one day used transit and found the apartment easily accessible that way. Bus stops are nearby and buses are frequent.
The apartment is a good deal and helped us to visit Chicago on a budget!
It was a great spot that worked well for our group. The Green L train is a long walk away, but very doable. Otherwise, it's really easy to take the short bus to the Pulaski station.
The bedrooms were a decent size with all the kitchen amenities. The neighborhood's not the nicest one around, but it's definitely not the worst one either. It worked just fine for us. The location was convenient overall.
Thanks Nora and Gonzalo!
