Comfortable traditional cottage, 2 min from the sea and pub. One double and one single bedroom plus double sofa bed in living room. All mod cons, wifi, wood burning stove, next door to gallery and café, (cafe only open from April - end of August), access to beautiful gardens, well behaved pets welcome.
We are 10 minutes from Durrus where there is supermarket and good family restaurant open all year round. You will be on the doorstep of the Sheepshead way- fantastic way marked walking routes all over the peninsula. Arundels on the pier does pub food at weekends and all summer.
We had a lovely time staying at Seaside Cottage. The cottage is wonderfully situated, had everything we needed and Lois and Annabel made us very welcome. The weather was fabulous and the area is magical - can't wait to return!
Had such a relaxing and fabulous time, we enjoyed the beautiful gardens and Annabels hospitality. We were lucky with the weather and were able to have breakfast outside on the porch. Everything we needed was available and recommend this cottage highly!
We had such a wonderful stay in Annabel's seaside cottage, everything was exactly as described and Annabel was very welcoming!
The cottage is located in extraordinary surroundings, don't miss Annabel's betautiful garden!
Beautiful cottage in a very quiet area. We had a wonderful time even though we were not lucky with the weather. I have recommended this place to a few of my friends and colleagues.
We had a wonderful stay at Annabels Cottage.
Annabel is a great host and a fabulous artist.
The cottage is full of her art works, and is cosy and has everything you need.
The area is beautiful and we followed Annabels advice and had two great days, exploring Sheepshead and Mizen head.
We would highly recommend a stay there and hope to return in the not too distant future.
My friend and I had a lovely few days staying at this cottage, we wanted a quiet getaway in a beautiful setting and were happy on all counts. We had a couple of very minor queries that were resolved straight away and would happily recommend this property to anyone. Our only disappointment was that we went before the start of the holiday season so we will be looking forward to coming back again when we have a chance to visit the gallery next door!
We had a wonderful week in this lovely cottage. Annabel and Klaus made us feel so welcome. They are the most genuinely friendly and interesting people that you could meet. We were treated like old friends from the start and they shared lots of local tips for exploring the area. Sheepshead peninsula is simply breath taking. Annabel suggested some great walks and Klaus lent us a map of the routes. Our dog, Flo, thought she was in heaven! This is a great location for exploring other parts of west cork too as it's only 20 mins drive to the Mizen head peninsula and not too far from Beara either. The cottage is cozy and really nicely decorated. It's full of Annabel's colourful artworks. After staying in sterile, dull holiday homes over the years it's nice to find one with character. Can't wait to come back!
Annabel and Klaus offer a great vacation experience with the accommodations and hospitality they provide. They welcomed us with a warm and cozy house, and all was ready for us to feel at home. It is a wonderful location to see and explore the beautiful Irish coast line. Annabel was so kind to show us her art studio, gallery and the gardens which are simply beautiful. We loved her animals which include sweet cats, a wonderful dog and three lovely pigs. Thank you for a great time in Ahakista, we will be back!
We had an excellent time here! The place was much larger than we'd anticipated--very spacious for the two of us! The living room was very cozy, and the fire place was delightful. And the scenery was amazing. Driving along the coast in this part of Ireland is like being in a postcard, and the nature walks nearby are very scenic as well. Would definitely come back!
The cottage was perfect for our short stay (3 nights) in early September. It's beautifully decorated, clean, comfortable, has plenty of character and the location is just brilliant. It's in a quiet spot on a hill above the sea, with stunning views and a lovely (and large) garden to enjoy it all.
We were unable to meet Annabel as she was away, but her manager was extremely accommodating. She was also looking after the attached gallery & cafe, a fine selection of Annabel's artwork and serving delicious fresh food.
The local pub (Arundels by the Pier) is 5mins walk and serves excellent food & has plenty of gluten free options.
I would not hesitate to recommend the cottage, it deserves to be fully booked! We will certainly be back as soon as we can.
