About This Listing
Comfortable traditional cottage, 2 min from the sea and pub. One double and one single bedroom plus double sofa bed in living room. All mod cons, wifi, wood burning stove, next door to gallery and café, (cafe only open from April - end of August), access to beautiful gardens, well behaved pets welcome.
We are 10 minutes from Durrus where there is supermarket and good family restaurant open all year round. You will be on the doorstep of the Sheepshead way- fantastic way marked walking routes all over the peninsula. Arundels on the pier does pub food at weekends and all summer.
I would happily stay in Seaside Cottage for the rest of my life! The only negative part of the stay was the going. The cottage is beautifully decorated with Annabel's artwork and lots of driftwood and other seaside finds, light and airy and at the same time cosy. The gardens are an unexpected treat, as is the perfect little beach down the road that was the ideal location for our little one to toddle joyfully on the water's edge with the friendly Lassie-alike dog from the local pub. Perfect getaway if you are looking for beauty and a taste of that special west cork atmosphere that has to be experienced to be understood. If you are looking for a good nights sleep, here has to be the place, with its luscious combination of complete darkness and extreme quiet. Annabel keeps a respectful distance and despite being attached to her busy cafe and gallery the cottage manages to feel private. I hope we will back.
Annabel gave good directions and we found it first try. We felt welcomed and everything was prepared for our arrival.
Annabel's artwork inside and her lovely gardens outside transform a simple cottage into something special. The pet pigs in the back yard are great fun and make you want to have left-overs to feed them when you self-cater.
Annabel has thoughtfully set up a picnic table with a view of the beautiful bay. Other than Annabel's studio/cafe (good scones) and the pub at the end of the street, it is several miles to most anything. It is a place to get away from the rat race.
We were able to kick back and relax in between day trips to Mizen Head and the Beara Peninsula. We had a lovely stay.
The cottage was gorgeous. Every thing you could potentially need was provided. The attached gallery, cafe and grounds were really lovely too. It's impossible not to relax there! The village, pubs and locals were gems as well! I'll be back for sure.
Annabel, the house and the surroundings are simply wonderfull. As many others before I don't really want to praise this place too much - otherwise it will be booked out for us ;-) We (family with 2 kids) absolutely l-o-v-e-d it here and will definately come back!!!
wonderful location with loads of hiking around the corner. Cute cottage with all you need.
We had a fabulous stay in Seaside Cottage for six nights. The cottage is very cosy with a stove in the sitting room and great art throughout. There is a café next door which is great for coffee and some chocolate beetroot cake! The gardens are great with plenty of art there too. Annabel & Klaus are very welcoming and helpful. Will be going back.
Fantastic cottage in a beautiful setting, you won't be disappointed!
