Large studio apartment renovated with 2 large east windows and large west bay window. Double doors open onto private deck. Six blocks from Buckeye Lake on Fairfield Beach. Please, no smokers.

Studio is 900 square feet. It is single room except bathroom. Entry has a chair and shoe mat as mud room.

Computer desk has multiple electric outlets for your devices.

Downstairs deck with gas grill. Fire-pit to the east. Room to park cars, boat, trailer. Big yard with small gardens.

The space
This is 30 x 30 studio apartment over a garage and weight room . The Studio was completely renovated with new ceiling, walls and hardwood floor in 2016. It has new tub, tub decking and toilet in the bathroom. A large cedar lined closet has been added. There is ample workspace with computer desk for business travelers.

We focus on healthy earth and do not use toxins in the gardens. We reduce, reuse, repurpose, recycle as much as we can. We have solar panels to reduce our energy consumption from the grid. There is recycle basket and compost bucket outside beside the door.

Guest access
Private entrance is upstairs to a private deck with hammock and table with umbrella in summer. There are 2 double electrical outlets on the deck. Unfortunately it is not accessible except by the narrow stairs to the deck.

The weight room and the laundry are directly below the studio in the garage.

Other things to note
I have chickens, guinea fowl and a dog. There is wooded area on 2 sides that abound with wildlife. If you are birdwatcher there is much bird traffic, in winter my bird feeders get heavy use. In spring, there are nesting birds within view of the house. In summer the hummingbirds come to feeders. Bicycles can be made available for adults and children.

For larger family groups who may want more than one apartment, a new BNB has opened across the street called Narcissus Place summer of 2019.

Please note that no smoking applies to entire property.

Neighborhood highlights

Fairfield Beach is about 4 miles west of Thornville and is a pleasant residential neighbourhood with minimal traffic. While we do not have side-walks, roads are pleasant for walking and biking due to minimal traffic. If you like to bicycle I can recommend nice 4 mile, 7 mile or 10 mile rides. Buckeye Lake was a big vacation destination in it's heyday. It is man-made as reservoir for canal system circa 1830. There is a very nice park at one end of the beach with playground and exercise equipment, basketball hoops and soccer field. A smaller playground with swings, monkey bars and slide is next to the lake.
